Chapter 1451: Chapter 1451: The Individual Is the Legion

Li Yao reminded that it wasn’t that the Worm Tribe was so powerful that they defied the natural order or stood at the top of the food chain.

It was that the Worm Tribe had many individuals with special abilities. Some insects were incredibly fragile, like parasites that are weak before infesting a host, and could be killed easily without any weapons, with a simple pinch.

But once they successfully enter a creature’s body, removing them is as difficult as reaching the heavens.

Moreover, the Worm Tribe possessed some extremely nasty traits, such as fearlessness in the face of death. Within the Worm Tribe, as long as a higher-ranking member issued an order, even if they knew they were heading into a deadly trap, there would be no fear or retreat. In their minds, there were only orders to follow and instincts.

Creatures that do not fear death become terrifying, unlike ordinary monsters, both in mentality and method.

However, Li Yao was not too worried. Feng Yi was by no means weak, although she rarely made a move during the grand competitions.

Li Yao, Sister Li, Feng Yi, and the enchantress all managed the guild’s divisions, so there was no need for them to take action during the grand competitions.

But as an undead master, her summoning abilities were formidable, and she had her own means of self-protection. If there were a real fight, probably only a few people like Li Yao and the enchantress could pose a threat to her.

This is the fearsome aspect of a Necromancer.

Although unable to see Feng Yi’s face, just the sight of a slim figure shrouded in a dark Mage Robe was enough to tell that she was a beauty.

"What a perfect vessel; with a bit of modification, you’d make the perfect queen of the insects," the insect herder cackled weirdly. His laughter was unrestrained and eerie, his voice carrying the unique cadence of the Worm Tribe.

Feng Yi frowned slightly: "You self-degrading waste, in the grand scheme of the ancient gods, you are less than a speck of dust. And yet you speak so shamelessly here."

"The greatness of the ancient gods is something you and others cannot comprehend. My glorious master will eventually break free from his cage and descend upon this pitiful world once again. By then, my lord will eradicate all filth from this world and create a perfect world that belongs to us. You lowly ants, living in such a sordid world without self-awareness, are the truly pitiable ones," said the insect herder with a face full of devotion, eyes blazing with fanaticism.

"A foul world? I would rather sink into your so-called foul world than enter the perfect world described by your ancient gods. That ’perfect world’ is probably a blink away from the destruction of all life, and even the world itself, in the eyes of your so-called ancient gods. And you who have outlived your usefulness will likely be part of that foul world too, to be cleansed and destroyed," Feng Yi continued to trigger the storyline without changing her expression.

This was the so-called role-playing. If one truly immersed themselves in the role, they might trigger some special clues and storylines. These storylines could develop into quests, but more often, they were just minor leads that could become the conditions for triggering certain scenarios and missions in relevant scenes.

"What does it matter? This dirty flesh should be cleansed. Those hypocrites in the Temple of a Thousand Gods, do they think they can discard us like trash just because they gave us life? When the dirty flesh is purified, our souls will be redeemed by the ancient gods," the insect herder said, as if immersed in a beautiful fantasy of the future. "Uldaman, Ulduar, Uldum, Dragon Bone Wilderness, Throne of Thunder, the first task for my masters is to cleanse the claws and teeth left behind by the Titans. Once the Titans’ minions are cleared away, you lowly ants living in this foul world won’t stand a chance before the great lords."

"System: Listening to the mad ravings of the ancient gods’ most devout followers, you have a premonition of a great crisis approaching. If you want to learn more, please find the mysterious organization of the seekers of Titan’s Relics and inform them of these messages. There may be unexpected gains."

Seeing this system notification, Feng Yi nodded slightly. She did not expect that she had indeed triggered a special storyline or quest. And quests involving ancient gods always had rich rewards, not to mention the involvement of some organization.

If it’s an organization, there will be reputation points. Once one has enough reputation points, one can buy or obtain special items from the organization. Not to mention the quest rewards, just for the reputation of the organization, she would explore it after the main storyline quest was over.

The audience also gained quite a bit of information, at least knowing that something was happening at several locations, but they did not directly receive any quest clues or System tips.

"Since you have already so desperately descended, so longing for the world your master described, then I will help you leave this filthy world."

After Feng Yi finished speaking, she continued walking towards the center, and with each step, the shadows of the undead began to appear behind her.

By the time Feng Yi reached the center of the arena, a group of undead followed behind her, all of them elite Skeleton Warriors. In the front were Skeleton Warriors, and behind them were Skeleton Mages and Archers, split among fire, frost, and toxin.

The momentum was even more vast than the Worm Tribe, and on her left and right were two powerful summons.

On the left was a Death Knight riding a Hell Nightmare Warhorse, holding the rank of a level 50 race leader.

On the right was a Lich entwined with frost Chains, also a level 50 race leader, no less powerful than the two Worm Kings’ descendants.

Moreover, as the Lich followed, it too summoned Skeletons, and in just a short time, nearly five hundred undead appeared around Feng Yi.

"Hehehe, Necromancy is also one of the great ancient gods’ most proficient Spells, I’m growing increasingly fond of you. You will be my undead Worm Queen, our combination will be invincible."

The Insect Manipulator blew the Flute again, and various kinds of insects appeared from nowhere and gathered around him.

These weren’t regular soldier insects, which are combat units used for fighting. His Flute summoned all kinds of insects that adapted to their surrounding environment.

There were cockroaches, centipedes, scorpions, ants, and even mosquitoes and flies, all of regular size, appearing to have no combat power, but the important thing was the overwhelming number, and several of the insects had capabilities.

For example, the scorpions and ants had strong Toxins, flies under control could spread disease, mosquitoes could perform Bloodsucking, and so on.

This caused countless audience members and players with a fear of insects and claustrophobia to hurriedly lower the realism settings.

The two stood confronting each other at the center of the arena; it now looked less like an individual duel and more like a battle between Legions.

But this was the fight of one person and their summons, considered an adventurer gameplay style.

This is also why Summoners and Necromancers are so popular and welcomed; of course, they are rarely included in party play because at this stage, players’ spiritual power is not sufficient to precisely control all pets, and letting pets act on their own without coordination with the team often leads to disastrous defeats.

But this does not impede Summoners and Necromancers from being highly sought after for outdoor exploration...
