Chapter 1107: Chapter 146: A Small Safe Corner of the Star Domain_2
"It’s alright, no need to be so polite." Tilan was slightly helpless about this, so she had to comfort her and then advised Grandma He to maintain her health.
"In the afternoon, I have to visit a senior," Tilan mentioned to Deloris during lunch while talking about her past work at Dream of Glazed Glass.
"Lady Isabella can truly be considered my benefactor; without her help back then, it wouldn’t have been so easy getting through."
At 2 PM, Tilan revisited Dream of Glazed Glass, though many people there had changed, only some she still recognized.
"Ah, it’s ’Dantalion’~" Vurowus spotted the grey-haired girl at the door immediately.
Tilan was quite surprised; having come from quite a notable family, Vurowus’s long stay at Dream of Glazed Glass was unexpected.
"Would you like something to eat? I’ll prepare it for you," Vurowus greeted warmly.
"Just had lunch not long ago, so not very hungry, just make something simple," Tilan and Deloris sat down, with the young lady at the side curiously inspecting the unique maid café.
"Then I’ll get you some assorted pudding."
Vurowus began preparing while chatting with Tilan.
"The manager retired two years ago, now Belfeng is the manager, though she’s become quite ’lazy’, leaving many tasks to the newcomers."
"Botis (Yulanduoja) only drops by occasionally over the past two years, looks like she’s considering making a comeback."
"Andusia’s flower house remains unchanged; for Elves, seven years is merely a brief period."
"Miss Grey Crow occasionally visits as well and often talks about you; she’s quite well-informed."
"Lady Isabella sometimes goes on business trips elsewhere but still spends a few months at the store each year."
Vurowus served the finished pudding, tidying her silver-grey hair by her ear.
"What about you, Vurowus? Aren’t you going back?" Tilan asked curiously.
"No need for me to go back. Annelli’s doing a great job now, doesn’t require my attention. Returning would mean facing tedious business matters again. I don’t lack money, so being free is better." Vurowus shared her plans.
Since Tilan graduated from Edith, Annelli returned to her family business, Silver Leaf Workshop, thriving immensely. Tilan once asked her if she had thought about going to university in Central Star Domain, to which she replied thus.
"If I weren’t inheriting the family business, I’d definitely go, but it’s a crucial time now. If I delay a few years in college, my brothers will seize real power."
"Learning and accumulating knowledge, one can do while working; if I want a degree, I still have time in the future. Now, matters here with Four-leaf Crystal are more important."
It wasn’t clear how Annelli was doing presently; though Tilan chatted with her occasionally, Annelli was somewhat proud, probably only sharing successes, not troubles, even if encountering difficulties, she wouldn’t tell Tilan.
After finishing the pudding, Tilan brought Deloris to Andusia’s wisteria flower room, meeting the elf elder sister ’Andusia’ who looked unchanged from back then. She was teasing a ginger-colored cat on the table.
"Dantalion has returned." Seeing Tilan, the gentle elf stood up.
Brewing tea, Andusia entertained the two while chatting idly about current affairs.
"Dream of Glazed Glass hasn’t changed much, but has Dantalion been practicing the piano diligently?" As Tilan’s music mentor, Andusia was more concerned about this.
"Uh, occasionally I practice." Tilan replied a bit ashamed, as she hadn’t touched the violin much in past months.
"It’s alright, I know becoming a Songstress is rather busy, but remembering to practice occasionally is good enough."
The three drank tea and recounted old stories; Deloris gradually conversed with Andusia too. This elven beauty’s gentle tone always managed to dissolve unease and unfamiliarity.
"Time’s up, I won’t keep Dantalion."
An hour later, Tilan and Deloris stood up to bid farewell, heading to a corner special seat at Dream of Glazed Glass, meeting Lady Isabella.
The golden-haired lady remained just as before, possessing half-Elf Bloodline, coupled with the Transcendent’s ability to delay aging, her appearance had hardly changed.
"Finally came back, little Tilan." She affectionately addressed the girl.
Tilan had always respected this elder, who had taught countless Songstresses, especially her guidance to Tilan during her youthful and naive days.
"Sit down, no need to be overly polite." Inviting them to sit, Lady Isabella listened to Tilan recounting experiences after going to Central Star Domain.
"Didn’t expect you to meet Evelyn in your first year," speaking of this name, Lady Isabella expressed slight nostalgia.
"I had just retired from frontline performances in the music world then, switching to being a mentor at Golden Flame Flower Academy, and the first Songstress I taught was Evelyn."
"Though she was in her early 20s then, she looked similar to girls aged 14-15, as Elves mature late physically."
"The new-to-academy Evelyn was full of curiosity yet shy, hesitant to approach strangers with many questions so she found me, her music teacher, to ask."
"I must say, she possessed an innocence incompatible with the environment, detailed and perceptive thinking. These traits enabled her to learn with full dedication, advancing rapidly."
