Emperor Cleris was quite frustrated by everyone’s comments; he had wanted them to put pressure on the Mo Family, not bolster their morale.

Dugu Qianye had no interest in their lengthy discussions and, after greeting Mo Chi, she quietly left the grand hall with Mo Feng.

"Phew, the air is so much better outside, it was too oppressive in there," Dugu Qianye exhaled deeply and said leisurely.

"Exactly, I was about to fall asleep listening to them," Mo Feng replied with a smile.

Then, the two began to wander around the Imperial Palace. The place was truly magnificent with structures like the White Palace and the Golden Palace that were simply incomparable.

"Sister, what are the White Palace and the Golden Palace?" Mo Feng asked.

Caught by Mo Feng’s question, Dugu Qianye realized she had inadvertently spoken her thoughts aloud.

"The White Palace is also a place where a country’s leader lives and works." Just not in this world.

Mo Feng wanted to continue asking, but a voice interrupted them.

"Where does this little beauty come from, catching the eye of this lord to the point of intoxication."

A group of young men and a woman approached, the triangled-eyed man in the middle being the one who spoke.

The woman, seeing Dugu Qianye, had a flash of jealousy in her eyes.

Seeing their path blocked, Dugu Qianye and Mo Feng’s relaxed mood was interrupted. Dugu Qianye glanced at them dismissively and said to Mo Feng, "Let’s go back."

"Stop right there!" The triangled-eyed man called out to them, saying, "The Imperial Palace is not a place where you can wander at will. You could be assassins. Guards, capture them! Throw the man into the dungeon and bring the woman to my estate."

"Yes, young lord."

Two men emerged from behind them, saluted the triangled-eyed man, and moved to seize Dugu Qianye and Mo Feng. But as they approached, Dugu Qianye kicked them away, one with each foot.

Dugu Qianye held back Mo Feng, who was about to lose his temper, and said, "Mo Feng, do you hear a dog barking?"

"I do, it’s barking really loud!" Mo Feng agreed.

"You’ve got some nerve, daring to call the young lord a dog! Guards!" the woman yelled, prompting the nearby guards to rush over.

"Commandery Princess, do you have any orders?"

"Arrest these two who scorn imperial authority and execute them on the spot!" the Commandery Princess said, a gleam of unspeakable delight in her eyes as she looked at Dugu Qianye. This woman, more beautiful than herself, was about to die, ha ha!

Since it was Dugu Qianye’s first time entering the palace, the palace guards did not recognize them. Upon hearing the Commandery Princess’ command, they immediately surrounded the duo.

"Hey, hey, be careful not to hurt my beauty," the man with triangular eyes shouted as he saw the guards surrounding Dugu Qianye. Turning his head and seeing the Commandery Princess glaring at him, he weakly called out, "Sis."

"Useless!" the Commandery Princess cursed in frustration, as if she was disappointed due to his incompetence.

As the guards moved forward to capture Dugu Qianye and Mo Feng, they were not about to comply easily. Using the Ethereal Step Technique, Dugu Qianye effortlessly took down everyone, even tossing some into the pond in front of them.

"How dare you, assaulting Imperial Guards!" the Commandery Princess shrieked furiously. She hadn’t expected such small figures to possess such strength.

"Not only do I dare to hit them, but I’ll take on you two as well. Remember this in future: do not provoke those you shouldn’t!" Dugu Qianye said, and with a kick, sent the Commandery Princess and the young lord headfirst into the pond.

"Haha, sis, you’re amazing!" Mo Feng said with a chuckle, finding deep satisfaction in the sight of the bedraggled Commandery Princess, the young lord, and the group of guards.

"From now on, kick away the dogs that block your path like this, understand?"

"Got it, sis."

As Dugu Qianye and Mo Feng left, the voices of those in the pond could faintly still hear their conversation.

"Dammit, I must tell my uncle, and he’ll punish these two!" the Commandery Princess said hatefully, pushing a nearby guard, "You waste of space, help me and the young lord out of the pond to the bank!"

After leaving, Dugu Qianye and Mo Feng continued to stroll to other places but, bored, they headed towards the main hall.

Meanwhile, in the main hall, various major forces were still discussing the division of power when suddenly, a cry for help was heard.

"Uncle, you have to stand up for Yan’er!"

Emperor Cleris looked up to see two drenched figures running in.

"What happened here? Why have you entered without being announced?" Emperor Cleris asked with displeasure.

"Uncle, you have to stand up for my brother and me!" The Commandery Princess cried without answering Cleris’ question, just weeping.

Knowing his niece’s temperament well, Cleris rubbed his eyebrows and said, "Speak, what happened?"

"We encountered two people in the Imperial Palace who didn’t salute us and didn’t reply when we spoke to them, so we suspected they were assassins. When we tried to detain them for questioning, they attacked the Imperial Guards and threw us into the pond, even claiming the imperial family is nothing special. Uncle, you must seek justice for us!"

"Such a thing happened?" Cleris asked angrily.

"Absolutely, uncle!" the Commandery Princess affirmed.

"Guards, arrest the two people the Commandery Princess spoke of!" Emperor Cleris commanded the guards outside. He knew very well what sort of character his nephew and niece had; even though what they said might not be true, the dignity of the royal family still needed to be maintained.

"No need, we’re already here."

At that, Dugu Qianye and Mo Feng walked in from outside.

"Uncle, it was them, they’re the ones who attacked us!" the Commandery Princess pointed at Dugu Qianye and Mo Feng, shouting loudly.
