"I’m cooking. You guys should stay for a meal!" Nian Hua invited. Seeing the slight change in Dugu Qianye’s expression, she glared and said, "What’s with that face? My cooking has improved a lot now. It might not be as delicious as yours, but it’s pretty good!"

"I did hear you scared Nian Sui so much he wouldn’t eat for a long time," Dugu Qianye teased as she carried Nian Zhixin over.

Confronted with the embarrassing story from the past, Nian Hua remained unfazed and declared, "Now that I’m a mother, of course things are different!"

"Really? Then let me help you out and check out your skills!" said Dugu Qianye as she handed Nian Zhixin over to Zi Xiao and joined Nian Hua in the kitchen. Zi Xiao played with Nian Zhixin in the yard.

In the kitchen, Dugu Qianye watched Nian Hua’s proficient movements and said, "I didn’t expect you to actually get the hang of it!"

"After becoming a mother, it’s like my senses were sharpened all of a sudden. I don’t burn the kitchen or char the food like before," reflected Nian Hua.

"I didn’t expect so many changes after coming out of seclusion: you got married to Nian Sui and even have a child now," Dugu Qianye reflected.

"Didn’t I just do as you said back then, hit him with a strong dose first, then make the cooked rice into a meal," said Nian Hua with no hint of shyness. Without that, she would still be waiting for Nian Sui to come to his senses, right?! "By the way, when do you and the Lord plan to get married?"

Dugu Qianye was taken aback by the question and said, "I haven’t really thought about it, not until everything is settled. There’s too much going on right now to think about that."
