"Hehe, like I would dare!" Dugu Qianye said with an apologetic smile, "Wasn’t I planning to come to the academy and then look for you guys?"

"Hmph, you just didn’t miss me. To soothe my aching heart from missing you, you’re treating me to 10 barbecue feasts." Seeing that Dugu Qianye was about to say something, Dan Jingtian quickly added, "No negotiation!"

"Additionally, each of us gets 2 feasts, which adds up to 10 as well." Ye Canglan also joined in the fun. She had heard from Long Xiang about the enrollment, mentioning that Dugu Qianye had promised him 2 barbecues, which made him unbearably smug. But then again, the barbecue they had in Cangmang Mountain last time was something they had savored for the whole year, so it was indeed a reason to be happy that Dugu Qianye was treating them to 2 feasts.

"Agreed." The poker-faced He Yan also spoke up.

Dugu Qianye helplessly looked at Mo Ziqing, trying to speak but was interrupted.

"Even though I’m your cousin, sometimes I need to go with the flow too." Seeing Dugu Qianye’s pleading eyes, Mo Ziqing couldn’t help but flash a brilliant smile.

Dugu Qianye was about to say something when everyone spoke in unison, "Protests invalid."

She looked at everyone, feeling both amused and helpless, and said, "Actually, I wanted to say that barbecue is fine, but I’m hungry. Can we go eat?"

Relieved by Dugu Qianye’s response, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Although Dan Jingtian also used cumin in his barbecues, the flavor never matched the one from a year ago, which made everyone unusually crave Dugu Qianye’s barbecue.

Mo Ziqing walked over, brushed Dan Jingtian’s hand off Dugu Qianye’s shoulder, and said, "We’re here to take you out to eat. But we still need to wait for Long Xiang; he went to call Long Qi and Long Lei."

A few minutes later, Long Xiang and the others arrived. Seeing the crowded room, Long Lei said, "Baili brother, so you already knew Ziqing brother and the others! I was thinking of introducing you to five of the top ten geniuses of Empire College!"

Before they arrived, Dugu Qianye had agreed with Dan Jingtian that from now on he would be called Baili Xie; and they had all heard about the morning’s events from Long Xiang. So when Long Lei called her Baili brother, no one showed any surprise.

"Hehe, let’s go eat. I’m really starving!" Dugu Qianye said. Without breakfast, she was indeed very hungry.

The group of eight headed to the restaurant in the college. Right at the entrance, they bumped into the Feng Family sisters and some others coming to eat. The Feng sisters, as always, looked down on everyone with their chins raised and shot a cold glance at Dugu Qianye’s group before proudly walking into a private room.

As the Feng Family members entered the room, Mo Ziqing and the others looked at Long Lei in surprise. Usually, when encountering the Feng sisters, she would get so angry she’d jump up and down. Why was she so calm today?

"Why are you all staring at me?" Long Lei asked, puzzled.

"Today you didn’t call them Peacock, and you didn’t argue with them. That’s not like you!" Ye Canglan commented.

"Baili brother said, if a dog bites you, can you bite it back?" Long Lei replied, "I’m not a dog, why should I stoop to their level?"

"Not bad, Lei," Ye Canglan praised.

Puffing up her cheeks proudly, Long Lei said, "Of course!" Her cuteness made everyone burst into laughter.

They reserved a private room, and the eight of them filled a table nicely. Dugu Qianye hadn’t expected her first meal at the academy to be so lively. She was more surprised that, after only spending one night together a year ago, there was no sense of strangeness between them. Could this be what they called hitting the right spot?

Maybe it was because Dugu Qianye and Long Lei had joined the academy, or maybe it was the joy of reuniting after so long, that everyone had an exceptionally good time at the meal, which lasted until two o’clock in the afternoon.

On the way back, Mo Ziqing and Dugu Qianye walked behind the group.

"Mo Feng has also entered the academy. He’s enrolled in the Elixir Department and is now living in the Elixir Department dorms," Mo Ziqing said, "I’ll bring him over later."

"Hehe, sure. I haven’t seen him for more than two months, and I kind of miss him," Dugu Qianye said. She casually plucked a leaf dangling from a roadside tree and played with it between her fingers.

"Mo Feng’s arrival could be said to have solved our urgent needs. You’ve made a great contribution to the family by nurturing an alchemist. Your fifth uncle and the others have returned as well, when will you go back to see them? Several of your uncles are looking forward to it."

"I let Mo Feng learn alchemy just because he likes it and has talent. I didn’t intend to do anything for the family. I want to study well in the academy and don’t want others to know I’m from the Mo Family. Pass a message for me and tell them I won’t be going back for now," Dugu Qianye said.

"Hey, what are you two chatting about back there? Hurry up," Dan Jingtian shouted from the front, attracting the attention of passersby. Dugu Qianye and Mo Ziqing ended their conversation and caught up.

When they reached the dormitory area, everybody went their separate ways. By the time Dugu Qianye got back to her dorm, two more people had arrived; now, there was only one person left to come. It was to everyone’s surprise, when the last roommate arrived by evening, to find that she was a girl, and a beautiful one at that, with an oval face, almond-shaped eyes, and cherry lips. Her fair skin contrasted with her aqua outfit, and her long hair was casually tied back.

"This is the only room left." The girl explained when she saw everyone’s surprised looks, "Anyway, the rooms are separate, you won’t peep at midnight, will you?"

"Hehe, how could we?" Sun Kui touched the back of his head and said, "You came so late, we’ll help you clean up."

"Right, right, we’ll help you clean. Otherwise, you’ll be doing it till late on your own," the other two offered eagerly.

Many hands make light work; the five cleaned the two-story building in no time. As they sat down to rest, Sun Kui said, "We’re roommates now. Let’s get to know each other. I’m Sun Kui, room 2. 16 years old, level 8 Phantom Master, from Yun City."

"I’m Gao Liang, from room 3. 15 years old, level 6 Phantom Master, from Tong City," the person next to Sun Kui said.

He really does look like Gao Liang, tall and thin, Dugu Qianye thought to herself as she looked at him.

"I’m Lei Xiaohu, from room 4. 15 years old, level 5 Sword Master. From Lion City." Lei Xiaohu smiled broadly, showing off his two little tiger teeth.

"I’m Sang Yu. 16 years old, level 7 Sword Master. From Ye City," the girl greeted them cheerfully.

After everyone introduced themselves, they all looked at Dugu Qianye.

"I’m Baili Xie, from room 1. 16 years old, level 9 Phantom Master. I grew up in Qifeng City," Dugu Qianye said.

"You’re Baili Xie? Everyone has been talking about you today, I didn’t expect you to be living in the same compound with us!" Gao Liang said with a hint of surprise.

Dugu Qianye just smiled and did not reply.

"Wow, a 16-year-old level 9 Phantom Master, you’re almost catching up with the number one talent on the Continent!" Sun Kui exaggeratedly said, "I can’t believe I get to live with such a genius! This is incredible! I believe in the next three years, no, in at most two years, you’ll certainly join the ranks of the academy’s top ten talents."
