Chapter 23: Chapter 23 Qian Pavilion (2)_1
Change gender? Dugu Qianye grew interested, asked the clerk to bring it over, put it on, and after turning the gears, her whole appearance immediately changed. She still had the same facial features, but they seemed much more masculine, and the little mounds that had grown over the year were no longer visible, her neck even appeared to have a small Adam’s apple.
Seeing Dugu Qianye’s interest, the clerk recommended another item to her, "This is the Hundred Change Mask; by wearing it, you can change to any face you desire. It comes as a set with the Phantom Ring. Both were crafted by Master Youwu."
Dugu Qianye tried on the mask and found it to fit nicely; it didn’t feel like there was anything on her face at all. She thought of several faces, and the mask could display each one.
Tsk tsk, this Master Youwu must be someone who loves causing trouble, thus creating all these things! Dugu Qianye lamented. These are the perfect tools for committing misdeeds. Commit a crime with one face and then switch to another—who would recognize you?!
"This set was brought by Master Youwu just today for sale. It’s said that this is the only set," said the clerk.
"Is this Master Youwu very famous?" asked Dugu Qianye curiously.
The clerk looked at Dugu Qianye as if she were an alien. Realizing that Dugu Qianye honestly didn’t know, he explained, "Master Youwu is a grandmaster in the field of Artifact Refining. Currently, he is the only one who can craft Low-grade Divine Artifacts. However, his personality is eccentric and his mood swings unpredictable; he doesn’t like to refine artifacts for others, so the number of weapons he has crafted is very limited, and they are quite expensive. Master Youwu brought over the ring and the mask this morning, saying they were made for fun. Who knows, he might still be in Baishi City now."
Dugu Qianye removed the mask and ring and told the clerk, "I’ll take these two. Please total up the price for me."
"Certainly," the clerk replied, taking the items to the counter to calculate their price. "The Phantom Ring is 200,000 Gold Coins and the mask is 180,000 Gold Coins, for a total of 380,000 Gold Coins."
Dugu Qianye transferred Gold Coins from her Space Ring into the ring provided by the clerk and took the ring and mask. Seeing her Gold Coins depleting rapidly, Dugu Qianye once again sighed at how costly these items were. Glancing at the Elixirs in the next room, she asked, "Do you accept Elixirs here?"
The clerk was taken aback, then said, "The Elixir Pavilion on the fourth floor purchases Elixirs. Please, follow me." Despite feeling that it was unlikely for someone so young to be an Alchemist, his attitude became even more respectful.
Dugu Qianye and Xiaohuo followed the clerk to the fourth floor, where he spoke with another clerk before saying, "Miss, this person will inform you about the process. I’ll take my leave now. I hope you enjoy your time at Qian Pavilion!" With that, he bowed and went downstairs.
The fourth floor clerk, a woman in her thirties, greeted Dugu Qianye with a polite smile and said, "I heard you have Elixirs to sell?"
"That’s right."
"Please come with me. The transactions for selling Elixirs are conducted in the room inside," explained the clerk.
Once inside the room, the clerk said, "Would you mind putting the Elixirs on the table?"
Dugu Qianye looked at the small table and said, "I’d rather put them on the floor." With a wave of her hand, a small mountain of Jade Bottles appeared on the floor. Ever since the Refining Demon Pot had been unsealed, Dugu Qianye hadn’t exchanged the Elixirs she refined for raw materials.
Seeing the large quantity of Elixirs, the clerk paused in astonishment and said, "You have so many Elixirs; I need to call our butler over. Please wait a moment."
After the clerk left, she returned shortly, accompanied by an elderly man and a young man.
The old man was full of vitality, while the young man, about twenty years old, wore a gentle smile and had bright eyes that revealed a businessman’s shrewdness.
"Butler Qu, this is the young lady," the clerk told the old man and then stepped outside.
Butler Qu bowed to Dugu Qianye, and Dugu Qianye stood up to return the bow. Then they both sat down. The young man sat down next to Butler Qu.
"Miss, are all these elixirs for sale?" Butler Qu asked.
Seeing Dugu Qianye nod her head, he continued, "You have a large number of elixirs. We will need some time to tally them up." After saying this, he called over two clerks who opened each Jade Bottle and began to count, each holding a notebook.
After roughly half an hour, the two clerks finally finished counting. Butler Qu looked at the tally and said, "Miss, in total there are 1,800 first-grade elixirs, 1,342 second-grade elixirs, 957 third-grade elixirs, and 800 fourth-grade elixirs. Since all your elixirs are superior-grade, we are offering an additional 50 Gold Coins on top of our usual purchase price, making it 300 Gold Coins for first-grade, 600 for second-grade, 1,000 for third-grade, and 2,000 for fourth-grade. Altogether, that comes to 3,902,200 Gold Coins. Does that sound acceptable to you?"
Dugu Qianye was startled by the total, damn, she only took out her average elixirs! Moreover, she saw the highest grade here was only fourth-grade, so she didn’t bring out any fifth-grade elixirs. However, she quickly regained her composure and said, "That’s acceptable."
Then Butler Qu handed Dugu Qianye an Amethyst Card, saying, "This is an Amethyst Card, which can only be used for transactions over a million Gold Coins. We have already deposited 3,902,200 Gold Coins in it for you. You can bond with it by dropping your blood on it so that no one else can use it even if they obtain it."
Dugu Qianye took the card, bonded with it by blood, and then glanced at it before putting it into her Space Ring. It was just like a bank card from her previous life, but even more convenient.
"Sister, I’m hungry. Let’s go eat," Xiaohuo ran in and said to Dugu Qianye.
Dugu Qianye felt hungry as well, so she bid Butler Qu farewell and prepared to leave.
"Miss, please wait a moment," the young man called out to Dugu Qianye. Seeing her look at him with curiosity, he bowed and said, "I am Qu Xiaotian, the Young Master of Qian Pavilion. May I have the honor of knowing your name, miss?"
Young Master?! Dugu Qianye, being pulled by Xiaohuo to leave, stopped and said, "Dugu Qianye."
"Miss Dugu, we would like to make a transaction with you. If you have elixirs to sell in the future, we at Qian Pavilion would like to purchase them. We will offer you an additional 50 Gold Coins for each elixir, just as we did today," Qu Xiaotian said.
"That’s fine," Dugu Qianye said. After all, it didn’t matter who she sold the elixirs to, and she was quite satisfied with this place. Why not go for a win-win deal?
Qu Xiaotian took out a card and said, "This is our V.I.P. card. Selling items at Qian Pavilion with this card will fetch higher prices than usual, and you’ll get a 15% discount on any purchase made at Qian Pavilion."
Dugu Qianye put the card into her Space Ring.
"We have a large auction tonight at Qian Pavilion. Miss Dugu, if you have time, you may consider attending," Qu Xiaotian said.
"Are there any requirements?" Dugu Qianye inquired.
"Ten million in assets or something to auction off," he replied
"Hmm, I see," she replied, then prepared to leave with Xiaohuo.
As they were about to leave, Qu Xiaotian suddenly asked, "Could we become friends?" Although he appeared very gentle, he seldom took the initiative to make friends. The impression Dugu Qianye left on him was very favorable, prompting him to desire further acquaintance with her.
