Originally planning to use a bald man’s rifle for shooting, Gao Yang had no time to stop when he saw Tomler run into the store, so he ran straight over.

Upon reaching the storefront, Gao Yang stopped and took cover on one side of the door, stopping about a meter away from the glass door.

After stopping, Gao Yang said in a deep voice, “Report the building layout.”

Number Thirteen waited a few seconds and then replied heavily, “According to the fire department’s registered blueprints, the building is six stories high.

The target’s store communicates with the building via a staircase, and there is no back door.”

Gao Yang whispered, “Surround it!”

There was no back door, but one could escape after climbing upstairs and jumping out of a window.

Satan had already finished mopping up the convoy and was now rushing over quickly.

Gao Yang needed only four or five men to surround the entire, not particularly large, building where the store was located.

Tomler’s chances of escape were slim, but the problem was that Gao Yang and his men would likely need to force their way into the store and search each level, which would take time.

The cleaner had turned off or taken direct control of all the cameras near the ambush circle, and the cleaner’s personnel could directly order patrol cars to move.

The nearest police patrol car would take at least eight minutes to arrive at the scene.

The battle had been going on for almost two minutes.

If they had to enter the building and search floor by floor, it would not be quick.

Essentially, it could be declared a failure.

After ordering his men to surround the building, Gao Yang saw that seven cannon fodder found by Number Thirteen had also arrived at the storefront.

Gao Yang counted and realized that these seven were all that was left.

Gao Yang didn’t know where Number Thirteen had found these people, only that their combat skills were passable.

But when it came to being assassins, they were clearly unqualified.

Such people have a name, the Night Phantoms.

The name wasn’t grandiose, it was filled with only dark and sinister colors, and the key was that this batch didn’t act like the night, nor did they resemble phantoms.

They were barely adequate as mercenaries for warfare, but as assassins, even if they could kill the target, they would be taken out soon after, having nothing to do with a phantom.

No wonder Number Thirteen called these newcomers rookies.

The seven men seemed very excited and angry because their losses were not only high but also worthless.

However, that wasn’t the reason they were still holding on.

The reason the remaining seven kept fighting to the end was that they wouldn’t get paid if they failed the mission.

And with only seven left, it also meant only seven people would split the money, so that’s why the Night Phantoms insisted on sticking it out.

Seeing the Night Phantoms’ men had arrived, Gao Yang waved his hand to signal two people to the opposite side before preparing to crouch and quickly rush through the glass door.

Gao Yang lowered his head, ready to charge forward when his suit collar was suddenly grabbed by the bald man behind him.

Just then, four of the seven men who had rushed from behind quickly ran to the other side of the door.

Pop, pop, pop.

Gao Yang heard three gunshots and then understood why the bald man had grabbed him.

Someone certainly needed to check the situation inside the store.

So when three of the Night Phantoms lunged out, two covered while one observed, hoping to take advantage of their quick passage to peek inside.

But after three gunshots rang out from the store, one person who turned his head to look inside was shot in the nose, and the two who didn’t turn their heads were shot in the back of the head.

No deviation, three shots, three lives were gone.

Each person was hit in the central nervous system, and after being shot, there was no convulsion, a truly instantaneous death.

The bald man behind Gao Yang said solemnly, “The one inside isn’t just anybody; it’s the Gun God!

Don’t stick your head out unless you want to die!”

Gao Yang couldn’t help but look back.

The tall figure behind him was utterly calm and resolute.

Gao Yang hadn’t forgotten the information Justin had given him about Tomler.

Tomler’s nickname was the Gun God.

Now Gao Yang understood.

After taking a deep breath, Gao Yang asked in a low voice, “Does he have any weaknesses?”

The bald man continued in a deep voice, “If he doesn’t have a gun, then there are no weaknesses to speak of because just about anyone could take him out.

If he does have a gun, then he still has no weaknesses; whoever he sees dies.”

Gao Yang exhaled and said, “The Gun God!”

The bald man pursed his lips, nodded heavily, and then said solemnly, “Yes, with a gun in hand, he’s God.”

The bald man was named Ludwig Hunter, once a member of the Iron Madonna, once friends with Tomler but now mortal enemies.

Ludwig was 196 centimeters tall, with a broad back and large waist, bald with shiny scalp, and always a bearded face with no expression.

When Justin’s men had just bailed out Ludwig and brought him to Gao Yang, Gao Yang had wanted to extract some information from Ludwig.

However, all the information Ludwig knew was outdated and not very significant.

Ludwig simply wanted to finish off Tomler, so he was eager to join the operation.

All he needed was a gun, but Gao Yang didn’t think someone who had spent twelve years in prison would have any real ability left.

However, bringing Ludwig along didn’t really matter, as his main purpose was to serve as a distraction.

Gao Yang now felt fortunate; if not for Ludwig’s shot, he would have died too.

He was being too impatient, and that was dangerous, especially when facing someone known as the Gun God.

Gao Yang steadied his anxious heart, took a breath, and said, “Let’s wait for more men before we make our move.”

Ludwig spoke in a low voice, “No need to rush, Tomler won’t be leaving.

You don’t have to worry about him hiding upstairs because there’s no need for that.”

Gao Yang frowned and said, “Why not?

Just because he’s the ‘Gun God’?”

Ludwig spoke gravely, “Yes, exactly because he’s the ‘Gun God.’ He has a gun, he’ll stay inside, and nobody can breach the place.

So, there’s no reason for him to hide—all he needs to do is kill everyone he sees.”

After pausing for a moment, Ludwig continued somberly, “Bring heavy weapons, or, just blow up this building with C4!”

Satan’s men arrived.

Glolov and Tommy went directly to the back of the building to prevent Tomler from escaping.

Meanwhile, Li Jinfang, Eileen, and Frey, the trio in the assault team, took position at the front entrance.

Gao Yang gestured for Li Jinfang and the other two to stop, then whispered, “Can we force entry after grenades blast a path?”

Ludwig shook his head, “No, you can’t throw grenades in there.”

Gao Yang glanced at Ludwig in disbelief, “Are you fucking kidding me?”

Ludwig remained expressionless, “You could try.”

Gao Yang put out two fingers and curled them twice, after which Frey put down his gun, took out two shock grenades, and stepped forward, preparing to throw them into the store at an angle.

Ludwig spoke in a grave tone, “If you’re going to try, I suggest using more.

Clearly, two aren’t enough.”

Gao Yang raised his hand again, and Li Jinfang and Eileen quickly each took out a shock grenade.

Then Gao Yang said to the remaining two survivors of the Night Phantoms beside him, “You throw grenades, and we’ll assault!”

Ludwig’s grave voice came again, “Don’t just use those; throw fragmentation grenades as well.”

Gao Yang shook his head, “There won’t be too few people inside; too many casualties isn’t good.

It will have a bad impact and too big of an effect.”

Ludwig shrugged, “Well, actually it might be for the best not to throw them; don’t want to risk blowing us up.”

Throwing grenades from the outside was definitely safer than an assault.

The four members of the Night Phantoms were quite satisfied with this arrangement.

They each took a shock grenade, stepped back a little, and pulled the pins.

The four men moved out one after another, attempting to throw the shock grenades through an open glass door.

Throwing a grenade did not require one to expose themselves to enemy gunfire; they just needed to swing their arm and toss the grenade into the doorway.

Nobody felt it was risky.

The four men only stepped forward a little; if Tomler was hiding inside the store right in front of the door, he couldn’t hit them.

Or if he took a position similar to that of two bodyguards, each holding a corner, he couldn’t hit the ones throwing the grenades.

Yet, Tomler did just that.

Three gunshots rang out in rapid succession, and the three men throwing the grenades immediately fell to the ground.

Tomler didn’t play by the rules.

Gao Yang and his team were hiding outside to the left of the main door, while Tomler was on the right side inside.

Thus, barely stepping away from the wall’s protection already exposed them to Tomler’s gunfire.

Tomler’s unconventional approach took a heavy toll on the men of the Night Phantoms.

Only one lucky one who was slow to move survived.

Gao Yang and the others turned around, closed their eyes, and covered their ears.

The shock grenade did not make it inside but exploded nearby.

Fortunately, when they saw the Night Phantoms’ men hit the ground, Gao Yang and the others had already taken protective measures.

Although the shock grenade was loud outside, it wasn’t enough to create a soundwave that could daze them.

After a moment’s evasion, Li Jinfang and Eileen fired a burst towards the doorway to prevent Tomler from rushing out.

The only remaining Phantom was scared stiff.

He couldn’t see anything, his ears ringing from the blast, he lay on the ground trembling, holding the shock grenade.

Frey stepped forward, snatched the shock grenade back, and threw it through a narrow gap inside.

From Frey’s angle, the entrance was just a thin slit.

Throwing the grenade from this angle wouldn’t threaten anyone inside the shop.

Frey just didn’t want the shock grenade to explode outside.

The shock grenade was tossed inside, but it only terrified the store clerks trapped inside, resulting in a series of screams.

By now, Gao Yang still didn’t know what it looked like inside.

Ludwig spoke up again, his voice grave, “I told you, you can’t throw it inside.

Tomler is called ‘the God among the Gun Gods’ for a reason.”

Gao Yang exhaled, pointed across the street, and said, “I’ll grab a rifle and take position on the other side for a longer range.”

Ludwig smirked dismissively, “You’d need to find his position, and he would kill you the moment he sees you.

Doubtless, he will spot you first.”

Gao Yang exhaled once more, “Are we really going to let one man with a gun pin us outside the door?”

Ludwig spoke gravely, “There is a way.

I’ve said it before, just blow up the whole place, or, bring in the heavy weapons.”
