767: Chapter 758: When Tolerance is Exhausted, There is No Need to Tolerate Any Longer 767: Chapter 758: When Tolerance is Exhausted, There is No Need to Tolerate Any Longer Gao Yang and his two companions each possessed the capability to independently complete a reconnaissance mission.

Gao Yang was a marksman, but if necessary, he could also lean towards the role of a sniper, an occupation that naturally involved covert reconnaissance.

Although there might have been some discrepancies compared to full-time snipers, Gao Yang was capable of independently executing a sniping operation.

The main area where he fell short compared to top-tier snipers was in the ability to remain concealed for long periods before delivering a fatal shot.

However, in other aspects, there was hardly any difference.

Jansen claimed to be from a reconnaissance force background.

His approach to scouting tended towards the use of technical methods, which differed from Gao Yang’s traditional close-range reconnaissance, but they complemented each other well.

As for Bantuna, according to him, clearing paths and reconnaissance were his strong suits.

Furthermore, Bantuna’s reconnaissance hardly needed any instruments, not even binoculars; he would get as close to the enemy as possible and then observe with the naked eye.

Therefore, he could gather information that was subtler and more detailed than what Gao Yang and Jansen could find.

The three had differing styles, but the intelligence they gathered essentially met the requirements of any type of troops.

If there were a large unit behind Gao Yang and his team, then whether it was conducting a raid, sniper operation, artillery adjustment fire, a surprise attack by armored forces, or precision air strikes, there wouldn’t be any issues.

Gao Yang, observing with binoculars from the edge of the forest, saw Jansen flying his almost silent and exceptionally small drone, which circled above the outpost for a good while without drawing anyone’s attention.

Jansen knelt on one knee beside Gao Yang, his display screen placed on the ground so that Gao Yang could easily look over to see it.

“There are seven people, they look very alert, actually, they seem quite tense.

What’s the reason for this?”

The perspectives from the air and the ground were different, Gao Yang could see the Sudanese soldiers holding their guns, looking around the outside of the outpost in combat stances, whereas from Jansen’s monitor, even the soldiers’ positioning could be clearly distinguished.

The Sudanese soldiers were positioned in an irregular ring formation, with the seven men covering every direction of the outpost.

Seeing the soldiers on high alert, Gao Yang was puzzled.

His first thought was that this outpost had suffered an attack, which would explain why they were on such high alert and remained outside instead of in their houses.

If Gao Yang wanted to open fire, he could do so at any time, but the problem was that he needed to find the Chieftain, not to slaughter some strangers.

After using the drone to observe the outpost for a while, Jansen whispered, “I should bring the drone back now, I need to conserve the battery.”

Gao Yang replied softly, “Okay, the drone has outlived its usefulness anyway.”

Just as Jansen was about to navigate the drone back, he suddenly halted his actions.

After adjusting the camera direction, Jansen urgently exclaimed, “New development, a vehicle is coming.”

From a higher vantage point, the drone’s wide-angle lens could spot distant occurrences.

When Gao Yang’s gaze moved to the drone’s display screen, he discovered four vehicles approaching in the direction of the outpost.

Gao Yang frowned and said, “Let’s wait and see what this is about first.”

Jansen aimed the drone’s camera at the incoming vehicles, zooming in on the lens provided a clearer view of the four vehicles.

Among the four vehicles, there was an SUV, two pickup trucks, and also a medium-sized truck.

The SUV led at the front with the two pickups flanking the larger truck closely in the middle.

Bantuna went to scout alone, and Gao Yang, wanting to call him back, said quietly over the walkie-talkie, “Radar, come back, there’s a new development.

Four vehicles are approaching, and there are quite a few people in them.”

Gao Yang didn’t bring his own walkie-talkie; he just took three ordinary civilian walkie-talkies from Martin’s filming crew, and what’s more, he didn’t have earpieces, so he spoke more quietly by instinct.

The outpost wasn’t situated in the exact middle of a clearing but rather close to one side of it, adjacent to a sparse grove of trees.

With the cover of the trees, Bantuna could get very close.

Bantuna soon returned, crouching swiftly beside Gao Yang and the others, whispering, “Where did the cars come from?

Boss, do you think the people you’re looking for are nearby?

If not, I think it’s time we leave.”

With a look of vexation, Gao Yang said, “Seeing how cautious these Sudanese soldiers are, I find their behavior abnormal.

I suspect it might be because the Akuri tribe has done something, making them so tense.

The only way to get answers is to capture a live one for questioning.

Otherwise, I need to search the vicinity of the outpost to confirm whether the Akuri tribe has been here, which would be a waste of time.”

After pondering for a moment, Bantuna replied softly, “I can’t get too close, but I noticed there’s no toilet inside the outpost, they go to the woods to relieve themselves.

If we’re going to capture someone alive, it would be easy.”

Gao Yang nodded and said, “Okay, it doesn’t really matter what those vehicles are here for.

But I feel the soldiers are only tense because they’re waiting for the vehicles to arrive.

Perhaps they’ll lower their guard after the vehicles get here.

Let’s wait, and when the opportunity arises, we’ll move.”

Jansen seemed a bit nervous and asked urgently, “If we want to capture a live one, do we need to move towards the outpost right now?”

Shaking his head, Gao Yang answered, “No need, there’s plenty of time left.

We’re only 700 meters away from the outpost, and we can quickly flank it.

There’s no need to rush.”

After saying this, Gao Yang continued to peer through his binoculars, while Bantuna curiously watched the imagery sent back by the drone, clicking his tongue and remarking, “This is so convenient, having this thing is just too handy.”

Gao Yang remained silent, merely watching the few alert soldiers when, after a short time, four vehicles approached the checkpoint.

The seven soldiers outside the checkpoint quickly gathered together, and a few more people came out of the house.

Gao Yang counted eight people emerging from inside.

When the cars stopped beside the checkpoint’s house, three people got out of the SUV.

To Gao Yang’s surprise, two of the four people who disembarked were Caucasians.

The beds of the pickup trucks were also full of people; over ten more disembarked from the two trucks, and then someone opened the canvas-covered tailgate of the truck from the outside.

When the tall tailgate was opened, someone suddenly toppled out of the truck.

Gao Yang was shocked; he hadn’t seen clearly, but he felt like the person who fell from the truck had their hands tied behind their back.

Given the close distance and the effectiveness of his binoculars, while he couldn’t hear any sounds, Gao Yang could still tell that those gathered around the truck burst into laughter.

After two more men with AKM rifles jumped down from the truck, more people followed suit.

This time Gao Yang saw clearly that the people coming down from the truck were all assisted by a hand, some had bloodstains on their faces, and each one of them looked terrified.

Gao Yang exclaimed in astonishment, “What’s going on here?

What have we stumbled upon?

A kidnapping?”

The first people to come out of the trucks were all men, and then Gao Yang noticed that those standing beside the vehicles started cheering.

Immediately after, he saw a few women being pushed and hurried down from the truck bed.

Most of the Black women were wearing headscarves and brightly patterned dresses.

When the first woman was pushed off the vehicle, several soldiers rushed over.

As soon as the woman jumped down, they grabbed her and excitedly dragged her towards a hut nearby.

Not all of those coming down from the truck were women, but there was a stark difference in treatment between men and women; the men were dragged aside, while the women were pulled away one by one as they disembarked.

Gao Yang had already figured out what was going on—the treatment these women would receive was obvious to anyone.

“Oh God, what’s happening, what’s happening!

What are those people doing?

Aren’t they military?”

Jansen was agitated, occasionally glancing at the images sent back from the drone, then lifting his binoculars to take another look, while Gao Yang focused on counting the number of people tied up on the truck.

When the truck was finally left with only two armed men coming down, Gao Yang’s count was twenty-one people—six women and fifteen men.

After the last woman jumped down, there were few soldiers left guarding the side of the truck, just four.

At this moment, one of the first men who got out of the truck saw the last woman being dragged away, and a man tied up and lying on the ground beside him struggled furiously to get up, his mouth wide open, howling.

Despite being several hundred meters away, Gao Yang heard the man’s harrowing scream, which was intensely agonizing.

Then he saw a soldier brutally smash the butt of his rifle onto the screaming man’s head.

As Gao Yang watched the screaming man being struck down to the ground again with the rifle butt, the woman being dragged away desperately kicked at the soldiers dragging her.

The two soldiers holding her simply picked her up, one holding her torso, the other her legs.

The lifted woman twisted her face around, arched her body, and managed to bite into the arm of the soldier holding her armpit.

The woman bit ferociously, and after the pained soldier let go, she did not fall to the ground because she was still clamping onto the soldier’s arm with her teeth.

Gao Yang saw the woman drop to the ground and also noticed the fresh blood on the arm of the Black soldier, who hopped in place, clutching his arm, for a few moments.

Then the bitten soldier pulled a knife from his waist and mercilessly started stabbing the woman’s face.

“F**k!”

“Oh God!”

Gao Yang couldn’t help but let out a curse, while Jansen issued an incredulous exclamation.

The tragedy was far from over.

Seeing the soldier driving the knife into the woman’s mouth and then forcefully stomping on the knife handle protruding from it, the man who had been struck with the rifle butt somehow managed to stand up and charged at the bitten soldier.

After a gunshot, the tragedy ended, leaving two bodies, one male and one female, on the ground.

Everything happened so swiftly that by the time Gao Yang put down his shaking binoculars and grabbed his hunting rifle, Jansen had already slammed the bolt action and, with a trembling voice, said to Gao Yang, “I’m sorry, I can’t stand this anymore, I know I might ruin your plans, but I can’t take it, I can’t just watch this happen, I’m sorry, I’ll give you the money back, I’m going to kill those motherf***ers, I’m going to kill them all!”

Gao Yang disengaged the safety on his gun and swallowed hard, “When there’s nothing left to endure, there’s no need to endure any longer.

F**k, I can’t watch this any longer either!

What money are you talking about?

I’ll join the fight with you guys!

Radar, what about you?”

Radar looked at Gao Yang and, licking his lips, said, “I told you, I’m a man with a conscience.

I’m glad you’re willing to take down those scumbags.

I’m scum enough as it is, but seeing someone even worse than me, I’m very eager to take them out.”

Gao Yang brought his eye up to the scope and said, “Good, I’ll take them out one by one.

You two cover me and also keep an eye out to make sure none of those people get a chance to slip away, not a single one.”
