Mercenary’s War
Chapter 713 - 713 705 They Are All Experts

713: Chapter 705: They Are All Experts 713: Chapter 705: They Are All Experts Just as Gao Yang was giving Doctor Kelson a detailed explanation of what had happened, four people split into two groups and began the cleanup work.

The person Kelson called an evidence collection expert lay on the floor, holding a small jar in one hand and a cloth in the other, crawling on the ground and nearly inch by inch, he searched and cleaned the surface.

Moving slowly to the spot where Dusselyev had been placed, the expert carefully picked up a strand of hair with tweezers and placed it into a clear plastic bag.

After seeing the expert’s actions, Kelson gestured for Gao Yang to pause speaking, then shouted at the expert, “Hey, hey, Jeremy, you’re here to eliminate evidence, not to collect it.

Our client is watching!

What do you need that dead guy’s hair for?”

The expert called Jeremy got to his knees, wiped off his sweat, then said with an apologetic smile, “Sorry, very sorry, it’s an occupational hazard.

I’ll destroy all the evidence in the end.

If I don’t approach this with the mindset of finding incriminating evidence, I can’t throw myself into it wholeheartedly.”

Gao Yang chuckled dryly a couple of times and said, “Do what you must, just remember to destroy the stuff when you’re done.”

A dissatisfied Kelson said, “Rest assured, I’ll have you watch as we destroy the evidence.

Alright, let’s continue our talk.”

That’s when the expert named Jeremy cleared his throat and said, “Sorry, sir, is it alright for you to call out our names like this?

I remember the organization said we were to keep our personal information confidential.”

Kelson made a helpless gesture towards Gao Yang and said, “Can’t help it, the rookies are always so uptight, worrying about this and that.”

After saying this, Kelson addressed Jeremy, “Young man, remember, when you want to earn a client’s trust, your identity can’t be kept confidential from the client one-way.

These are our premium clients, big clients, and they’re tier-two clients.

Do you know what it means to be a tier-two client?

Alright, go back to your work.”

Jeremy nodded and said, “Alright, please excuse me, I need to check the area where you’ve been.”

Gao Yang and the others had no choice but to all stand up, giving Jeremy the space he needed.

In total, five people stood where Jeremy had already wiped.

After Gao Yang stood and finished recounting his encounter with Dusselyev to Kelson and repeated Dusselyev’s testimony, Kelson pondered for a moment and then said, “What you’re asking for is to leave no problems for anyone, and I must ensure that, but right now we can’t confirm whether Dusselyev was telling the truth or lying.

From what has already been verified, Dusselyev has been lying.”

Gao Yang gave a wry smile and said, “That’s right, Dusselyev was once an agent.

For him, concocting a lie is as easy as drinking water, but we can’t take it lightly.

We must treat everything as if it’s true, which means we have to prepare for the killing of Badakovsky and his son.”

Kelson also scratched his head and said, “This kind of undistinguishable information is the most troublesome.

I hate the KGB, they’re all very professional agents, but sometimes these damn guys like to use rough methods like idiots.

The choices these damn guys make always leave you guessing whether they’ve had a brain short-circuit or set a trap for you deliberately.

These damn guys are the most difficult to deal with, whether as agents or criminals.”

After voicing his complaints with a bitter expression, Kelson waved his hand and said, “No way around it, we need intelligence support.

Only with accurate information can we make a precise judgment on the situation.”

Muttering, Kelson sighed, took out an old-fashioned mobile phone, made a call, and soon said listlessly, “This is Doctor Kelson.

I need some information, yes, I need intelligence support.

Please help me look into someone named Badakovsky, the godfather of the Russian Mafia’s Saint Petersburg Gang.

I want to know his current situation and that of his son.”

After hanging up, Kelson said to Gao Yang, “Let’s go.

We have to check out Dusselyev’s house.

Do you know the address?”

Gao Yang nodded and said, “He claims to live at 16A, but we don’t know if it’s true or false, and we also don’t know if there are other people living there.”

Kelson sighed and said, “Hard to say, let’s go have a look.”

Then Kelson shouted, “Hey, Antonio, found anything?

Bring it here, and then follow me to that dead guy’s house to take a look.”

A middle-aged man with a Mexican face came out of the bathroom, holding a set of keys, and said, “Are we going now?”

After reaching for the keys from Antonio and taking a close look at them, Kelson said, “We’re going now.

We need to set up the dead guy’s house.”

Then Kelson said to Gao Yang, “Fellas, clearly, none of you are pushovers.

Do me a favor, if there are people in that dead guy’s house, you’ll have to help me out and take care of them.

You see, my people are busy, and I’m an old man.

If something needs to be done, you wouldn’t want an old man to have to get his hands dirty, would you?”

Gao Yang also wanted to check out Dusselyev’s home.

Upon hearing Kelson mention it, Gao Yang immediately laughed and said, “No problem, I’m more than happy to help, but if we end up firing our guns, there won’t be an issue, right?”

Kelson replied with nonchalance, “Of course I’d prefer you to keep quiet, but if guns must be used, then use them.

It’ll just be a bit more trouble, that’s all.

Come on, let’s go upstairs.”

That Dusselyev lived on the twenty-fourth floor seemed certain since the elevator button for the twenty-fourth floor was pressed right from the start.

Gao Yang had Tommy stay at Glolov’s place and then went up to the twenty-fourth floor with Glolov and Frey, accompanying Kelson.

When they found the door to apartment 16A, Gao Yang looked around the corridor to make sure no one was there, nodded his head, and got his pistol ready.

Glolov and Frey also raised their pistols, but Kelson just bent down to examine the lock carefully before shaking his head and saying, “I don’t think it’s this one.

Antonio, take a look.”

The middle-aged man Kelson had summoned didn’t take a close look but dismissed it after a casual glance, saying, “It’s not here; the lock and key don’t match.”

Kelson nodded and whispered resentfully, “Damn KGB, they always like to use these little tricks to cause trouble, these damned guys.”

After grumbling, Kelson waved his hand and commanded, “Find it.”

Antonio reached out to take the keys from Kelson and then started to stroll through the corridor.

As he passed each door, he glanced at the locks for a moment.

After circling around the corridor to the right of the elevator and then the left, he finally returned to Kelson, shaking his head, “These keys can’t open any of the doors here.”

The three of them, Gao Yang included, were perplexed but knew better than to question a professional.

Dawson looked really skilled, and if he said the keys wouldn’t fit, then they certainly wouldn’t fit.

Kelson ran his hand over his head, looking troubled, and said, “I hate the KGB, they’re always causing trouble just to irritate people, those damn guys.

In my entire career, nobody has been as annoying as the KGB.

Alright, let’s go downstairs and search floor by floor.”

Gao Yang was utterly speechless, now realizing just how different special agents were from ordinary people, even someone like Dusselyev was so cautious about returning home, playing tricks even in the elevator.

After descending the emergency stairwell from the twenty-fourth to the twenty-third floor, Kelson said to Antonio, “We’ll wait for you, make it quick.”

This time, Antonio only took a couple of steps before stopping and waving Gao Yang and the others over.

Kelson approached the door where Antonio had stopped and asked in a low voice, “So soon?

Are you sure?”

Antonio nodded, made an ‘okay’ gesture, and then picked out one key from the bunch he was holding.

After bending down to inspect both the lock and the key, he whispered, “The brand is the same; it matches the size of the keyhole.

Common people rarely use this type of lock because it’s expensive.

To find one in this apartment is abnormal, and your average burglar wouldn’t be able to open it unless they forced it.”

Kelson nodded, stepped back, and made a gesture.

Gao Yang and the other two took aim at the door with their guns, while Antonio cautiously inserted the key into the lock.

Then he nodded again, indicating all was clear, signaling it was time to open the door.

Antonio suddenly turned the key and pushed the door open before stepping aside, then Gao Yang charged in.

After a quick scan of the living room and finding no one, the three of them swiftly searched the rest of the apartment.

There was no one inside the house, and although Dusselyev’s home decor was simple, it was very tidy and seemed unremarkable from the outside.

After entering the apartment, Kelson made a round inside while sniffing loudly.

He announced, “I smell that distinct KGB stench, I guarantee this guy is hiding some dirty secrets.”

Walking up to the only bedroom, Kelson halted and pointed at a wall covered with photos, saying loudly, “Guys, believe it or not, that KGB chap has definitely hidden some secret behind one of these pictures.”

Gao Yang laughed and said, “Why are you so sure?”

Kelson replied with disdain, “Who fills a bedroom wall with their own pictures?

Europeans wouldn’t do it, especially not Russians.

They’d rather hang a couple of shotguns on the wall.

As for the KGB, hmph, those damn guys wouldn’t blow up their own pictures and put them on the bedroom wall.”

After speaking, Kelson called out loudly to Antonio, “Go find the secret.”
