434: Chapter Four Hundred and Thirty-One: Too Disgusting, Too Cruel.
Although he was a drug lord, not a hero, having the character for “hero” associated with his name, Teodulo was definitely no ordinary man.
Teodulo died a man’s death; he watched Glolov shoot him with his eyes open and fists clenched.
From a minor leader with only about thirty men under his command to the boss of a force of over two thousand men, controlling the life and death of tens of thousands, in Colombia, Teodulo was certainly considered a prince of the underworld.
Yet, in the small locale of Santo Onos, he was captured alive by a small force with a main strength of only eight men, and then executed by firing squad.
Such an incident would be beyond belief if told.
Though Teodulo’s power was strong, his death at the hands of the Satan Mercenary Corps could only be seen as capsizing in a gutter, he had it coming.
His total troop strength was two thousand men, but these men were scattered across many places.
If he had to mobilize his forces, he could at most gather four to five hundred men.
Teodulo had come to Santo Onos town specifically to deal with the waning Pailano, bringing one hundred and fifty of his elite, plus the Angel Mercenary Corps and Phantom Mercenary Group.
Such strength was more than enough to crush Pailano.
It was by snatching territory from Pailano’s hands that Teodulo had reached his current status.
It might have been different against another enemy, but to savor the pleasure of thoroughly eliminating his biggest foe, Teodulo chose to personally come to Santo Onos rather than sending someone else.
Teodulo wanted to enjoy crushing Pailano.
But who could have expected that the Satan Mercenaries, hired by Pailano, would strike at the heart, steamrolling over him?
No, to say “steamroll” is overstating it; more accurately, Teodulo was toyed with by the Satan Mercenary Corps.
The Phantom Mercenary Group’s capabilities in the jungle were truly something, and the Angel Mercenary Corps, which claimed to be the de facto best, was wary of engaging the Phantom Mercenary Group in jungle warfare.
Teodulo’s elite were also extremely familiar with jungle fighting, but unluckily for them, their battlefield with the Satan Mercenaries happened to be in Santo Onos town, not in the jungle.
Even if the battlefield wasn’t in the jungle, but at Teodulo’s camp within it, Gao would have ordered a retreat if they missed their strike.
But in the town, the result was the Phantom Mercenary Group and Teodulo’s elites getting trashed by the Satan Mercenary Corps.
If it hadn’t been for Chameleon’s shot that killed Lucas, it’s hard to say how things would have turned out.
The most likely scenario would have been Gao opting for a night attack to kill Teodulo and withdraw, and it’s debatable whether he would have succeeded.
It was Cui Bo’s rage at Lucas’s death that triggered a chain reaction, forcing the Satan Mercenary Corps to launch a daylight assault and catch Teodulo off guard.
All of it was an accident.
Had Gao chosen a different method of attack, it’s doubtful he would have achieved such a great victory.
If Teodulo knew the causes and consequences, it might just anger him to death all over again.
After Teodulo was killed, Gao had Lucica confirm his identity, and then had her stand beside Teodulo’s body to take several photos.
With these photos, Gao could get paid whether Pailano acknowledged it or not.
Even if Pailano couldn’t afford the commission, Ivan would have to cough up the money.
Once the photos were taken, Gao went over to Chameleon to check on this infamous scum.
Gao thought Chameleon must have been close to death if not already dead, but upon closer inspection, he found that Chameleon had no fatal injury.
He was just staring with one good eye, silent and motionless; although it looked serious, he was far from dying.
Seeing that Chameleon wouldn’t die immediately, Gao was even happier.
The reason was simple; if Chameleon was really close to dying, there would be no chance to make him suffer more before his death.
For such scum, a quick death was too merciful.
Sirte spat contemptuously at Chameleon before saying with satisfaction, “Scum, you are out of luck.
I assure you, your death won’t be comfortable.”
Gao said to Cui Bo, crouched beside Chameleon, “Rabbit, it’s definitely up to you to deal with this guy.
How do you want to do it?”
Cui Bo took out a grenade from his pocket and said gravely, “This is the grenade I gave to Lucas.
It’s definitely going to be the tool to kill him, but I haven’t decided exactly how to do it yet.”
Sirte said with interest, “You know, this scum has many ways of torturing people to death.
I’ve seen him break people’s limbs and throw them beside or on the paths of army ants.
How about we let him taste his own medicine?”
Gao wasn’t very good at torturing people, and he didn’t have such inclinations in general.
But when it came to punishing a scumbag, Gao didn’t mind giving a suggestion.
“I have a very strong impression of bullet ants.
What about finding some bullet ants to handle it?”
Cui Bo shook his head, “That won’t do, it wouldn’t let Lucas’s grenade be the thing that kills him.”
Gao Yang could not think of any good ideas, and after Sirte furrowed his brows in thought for quite some time, suddenly he exclaimed with great joy, “I’ve got it, I’ve got it, I have a very good idea.”
As soon as Cui Bo heard this, he was intrigued and said, “What do we do?”
Sirte, bursting with excitement, said, “I have a way to let this scum taste the flavor of torture, and then, die by Lucas’s grenade!”
Cui Bo cried out loud, “Tell me quick.”
Sirte’s eyes spun with a mischievous grin, “You know?
You can fit a grenade in a person’s mouth.
You could start by stuffing the grenade into his mouth.”
Cui Bo immediately grabbed the grenade and tried to jam it into Chameleon’s mouth, but Chameleon clenched his teeth tightly.
After two attempts, Cui Bo took the grenade and ferociously smashed it into Chameleon’s mouth until almost all of his teeth were knocked out; only then did he forcefully stuff the grenade into Chameleon’s mouth.
Sirte still had a look of glee on his face and said, “He won’t be able to spit the grenade out.
Rabbit, put the handle of the grenade into his mouth.
Alright, now, we need to go find a swarm of army ants.”
Cui Bo did not know the specifics of Sirte’s plan, but Gao Yang quickly figured it out and, looking at Chameleon with sympathy, turned to Sirte and said, “Can Opener, I’ve found you to be too cruel, but I like your method, I really do.”
Cui Bo also quickly understood, and he said with satisfaction, “Very good, excellent.
I’m going to look for the army ants right now.”
Army ants are extremely common in the rainforest.
Just a short walk from the town and you could find an army ant nest.
After finding one, Cui Bo and Frey dragged Chameleon to the path where the army ant foraging column was marching.
Cui Bo, with a look of pleasure, placed Chameleon’s head on the ants’ trail, and then pulled the grenade pin.
Soon, Chameleon’s face was crawling with army ants, and it wasn’t long before his entire body was covered with ants.
With the grenade stuffed in Chameleon’s mouth, as long as the handle did not pop out, it would not explode.
In extreme agony, Chameleon writhed on the ground, but he would not die quickly.
He wouldn’t die until the army ants had gnawed away the flesh on his face, letting the handle of the grenade loosen and blow him up.
Actually, if it were not for Cui Bo’s insistence that Chameleon’s death be caused by Lucas’s grenade, Chameleon would have suffered for a lengthy period, being eaten alive by the army ants until nothing but a skeleton remained.
That would arguably have been the most painful death, but it would have also lost the meaning Cui Bo desired.
Standing more than ten meters away from Chameleon, Gao Yang shivered and said, “I can’t watch this, it’s too disgusting, too cruel.”
Frey also rubbed his arms and said, “I got goosebumps all over.
No, I can’t watch either.”
Cui Bo said with resentment, “Why do I feel so exhilarated?”
Both Gao Yang and Frey turned their heads away, but Sirte let out a long sigh and said, “I also feel exhilarated, but I’m starting to feel sick, ugh, I’m going to throw up.”
Only Cui Bo continued to watch Chameleon with a gaze filled with hatred, his face brimming with satisfaction, “Lucas, I hope you would be pleased with this method of vengeance.”
Frey patted Cui Bo’s shoulder, saying in a deep voice, “I believe that Lucas is guiding us to find Chameleon, that sound must have been created by him, so he’s seen everything.”
As soon as Frey’s words ended, suddenly, there was a tremendous explosion.
Chameleon’s head was blown to pieces, his face finally eaten away by the army ants.
After flicking off a speck of grey brain matter from his arm, Cui Bo spoke with disgust, “This scum’s brains splattered all over me.” (To be continued.
