Chapter 405 - 405 403 The Informer who Walks with the Angel

405: Chapter 403: The Informer who Walks with the Angel 405: Chapter 403: The Informer who Walks with the Angel “If we hadn’t met under these circumstances, I definitely would have invited you for a cup of coffee, but unfortunately, we don’t have any coffee to drink right now, so, I’ll accept your invitation and take a seat over at your place for a cup of coffee instead.

By the way, do you have any good coffee?”

Nate Schumacher’s attitude boosted Gao Yang’s confidence, so he decided to take a seat on Nate’s turf and score himself a cup of quality coffee.

After hearing what Gao Yang had said, Nate Schumacher snapped his fingers, smiled, and said, “Buddy, this is Colombia, the land of premium coffee.

I’ve got a special selection of Mandheling mountain coffee with a silk-like texture from the plantation.

I guarantee you’ll like it.

Let’s go, I’d be delighted to serve you some of my collection.”

After Nate Schumacher gestured for Gao to follow, he walked ahead, and Gao followed close behind.

After winding about for a dozen or so meters, Gao saw seven or eight people dressed in German jungle camouflage keeping a combative posture, scattered across a clearing formed by a dead tree that had fallen.

Upon reaching the clearing, Nate Schumacher clapped his hands and exclaimed loudly, “Fellas, we’ve got a guest, Ram, you know him.

Alright, now set up the table, and Lucas, Lucas!

Get the coffee brewing!”

One of the soldiers, maintaining a combat position, suddenly stood up.

He pulled out a long cylinder that was attached to the external section of his backpack, and upon opening it, it turned out to be a tripod with three legs.

Another person pulled out something long from their backpack, unfolded it, and it turned into a square tabletop.

Whatever the tabletop was made of, it seemed light and thin, yet sturdy.

Gao had no time to examine it closely when another soldier pulled out a large piece of white cloth from his backpack, spread it across the makeshift table, and just like magic, there was a coffee table in front of Gao.

Of course, a table is not complete without chairs, and shortly, two high-legged folding chairs were placed next to the table.

“Please, have a seat.

The coffee will be just a moment.

We can talk while we wait.”

Gao sat down and glanced around.

The faces of the Angel Mercenary Corps members were painted with camouflage, hiding their true features.

As for the equipment, most of the Angel mercenaries were using G36K short barrel assault rifles, with M-DN61 hand grenades.

There were also two individuals carrying MP7-A1 submachine guns with silencers, painted in jungle camouflage.

In the jungle, everyone’s choice of weapon was quite similar, and there was not much to see that was different.

However, Gao was particularly interested in the MP7-A1.

The gun was even more compact and powerful than the MP5, and the 4.6X30 millimeter bullets it fired were more powerful than the 9X19 millimeter Parabellum rounds used by the MP5, without much increase in weight.

Before entering the jungle, Gao had actually wanted to choose the MP7, but since the Satan Mercenaries lacked experience with it, he didn’t opt for the MP7, which would have been more suited for the jungle.

As mercenaries, everyone naturally held an interest in weapons.

To smooth over the atmosphere before getting to the heart of the matter with Nate Schumacher, talking about weapons was a good ice-breaker, just as the British might chat about the weather upon meeting.

Gao pointed to a soldier carrying an MP7 and asked, “You’re using the MP7, how is it?”

“It’s quite nice, compact, and lightweight.

Despite the small caliber, it has a strong stopping power, and the silencer works great, making it extremely suitable for special operation personnel.

Um, it’s especially good for scouting.

After a long period of testing, we’ve now phased out the MP5, and all personnel using submachine guns have switched to the MP7.”

Having said that, Nate Schumacher waved his hand and called out, “Lucas, bring your gun here.”

A soldier approached Nate Schumacher and handed his MP7 over to him.

Nate then placed the gun in front of Gao and said, “You can try it out.

I promise you’ll fall in love with it.”

Gao hadn’t expected Nate Schumacher to directly offer him to test the gun, but he didn’t want to refuse the invitation.

Upon receiving the gun, Gao spoke somewhat awkwardly over the radio, “This is Ram.

I will be having a cup of coffee with Mr.

Schumacher, and I’ll also be testing out the gun they use, so if you hear gunshots, don’t be alarmed, it’s just me testing the gun.”

“Big Dog understands.”

After notifying Glolov and the others to prevent any misunderstanding, Gao aimed the MP7 up into the sky and emptied a magazine of bullets.

The silenced MP7 was very quiet; even if Gao hadn’t informed anyone, they wouldn’t necessarily have been able to hear the gunfire.

After he finished the magazine, Gao nodded repeatedly and said, “Not bad, really good.

I’ve indeed fallen for this gun.

Mr.

Schumacher, thank you very much for your valuable experience and advice.”

Nate Schumacher laughed heartily and said, “Don’t call me Mr.

Schumacher, you can call me Nate or Mad Wolf, but please, not sir.”

Gao Yang laughed and said, “Alright, Nate, can I ask what your mission is?

Or should I be asking whom you’re employed by?”

Nate waved his hand and replied, “You’ve shown up here, and if I’m not mistaken, are you guys planning to attack Garcia’s forces?

Oh, Garcia is also known as Teodulo.”

Gao Yang nodded, “That’s correct, our target is Teodulo, but our mission is just to eliminate Teodulo himself, his troops are not within our target range.

Of course, we might need to engage Teodulo’s troops to get to him, but from the looks of it, you guys must be employed by Teodulo.”

Shrugging his shoulders, Nate said, “Indeed, we’re employed by Teodulo.

In fact, our partnership has been going on for over two years.

We have been involved in almost all the battles during Teodulo’s expansion of power.

And this time, our goal is to eradicate Pailano’s last stronghold and completely wipe out Pailano’s influence.

I hate to say it, but Pailano is probably your employer, right?”

Now that there was nothing left to hide, Gao Yang gave a wry smile, “Yes, our employer is Pailano.”

Frowning, Nate shook his head and said, “Oh boy, that’s bad news, buddy.

You probably won’t be getting your commission, Pailano will certainly die, and a dead man cannot pay you your commission unless you, like us, collect your commission upfront.”

Gao Yang gave another wry smile, “Unfortunately, we collect our commission after the job.

But thankfully, we have some of the commission with a middleman, and if we complete the mission, we can collect the money from them.”

Nodding, Nate said, “Having a middleman is a good choice, but they’ve got to be reliable.

When you deal with drug lords, you need to watch out that they don’t pay you with a pile of goods instead of money.

I’ve been through that; even though we took care of the guy who tried to pay us with goods, we still didn’t get the commission.”

After Nate finished speaking, one of the soldiers suddenly said to Nate, “Colonel, Mr.

Cicero requests to come here.

He says he would like to meet with Mr.

Ram from the Satan Mercenary Corps and is hoping for Mr.

Ram and your consent.”

Nate Schumacher shrugged his shoulders and said to Gao Yang, “An intelligence dealer who’s traveling with us wants to meet you.

I don’t mind, but we need your consent.

If you agree to meet with him, I’ll let him come over.

If you don’t, then forget it.”

Gao Yang didn’t know how the Angel Mercenary Corps came to travel with an intelligence dealer, but after pondering for a moment, he nodded, “No problem, I’m willing to meet with him.”

Nate turned to his subordinate and ordered, “Let him come over, and bring an extra chair.”

With footsteps approaching, a middle-aged man dressed in a quick-dry shirt and two others wearing green military outfits walked over.

The man in the lead had curly black hair, was Caucasian, quite tall, and had a full beard.

He looked very handsome, and even though he was wearing an outdoor quick-dry shirt, it had the effect of a brand name shirt on him.

When he reached the table where Gao Yang and Nate were sitting, Nate casually pointed to the handsome middle-aged man without standing up and introduced, “Ram, let me introduce Mr.

Cicero.

He’s an intelligence dealer.

If you need any information, you can ask him.

Cicero, this is Ram, from the Satan Mercenary Corps.”

Gao Yang stood up, took the hand extended by Cicero and smiled, “Pleased to meet you, Mr.

Cicero.”

Cicero smiled warmly as he firmly shook Gao Yang’s hand, “I’m extremely delighted to meet you, Mr.

Ram.

My name is Justin Tullius Cicero, but you can just call me Justin.

Also, I’ve been in contact with your agent, Little Donnie, before.

Although it’s regrettable we couldn’t work together, it really seems like God’s arrangement that we meet here.”

Gao Yang’s mouth fell open as he exclaimed, “What!

You’re that Justin?”

Justin continued to smile, “It seems your agent has mentioned me, Mr.

Ram.

Yes, I am that Justin.

Ah, though we’re not in a working relationship now, please believe that we can be great friends.”

Gao Yang could only marvel at how small the world was.

Justin had contacted Little Donnie, hoping to link the Satan Mercenaries with Pailano’s mission, but Gao Yang had another source of intelligence and better options for cooperation.

Therefore, he had bypassed Justin here and chosen to take on Pailano’s mission through Grand Ivan’s man, Ivan.

But no much time had passed, and now Justin had appeared right in front of him.

After letting go of Justin’s hand, Gao Yang gave a bitter smile and said, “I’m a bit confused now, Mr.

Cicero.

Could I ask why you are here?”(To be continued.
