Mercenary’s War
Chapter 323 - 323 Three Hundred and Twenty-One The Tyrant is a Tyrant

323: Chapter Three Hundred and Twenty-One: The Tyrant is a Tyrant 323: Chapter Three Hundred and Twenty-One: The Tyrant is a Tyrant David stood on a soft-top convertible Mercedes G350, but what made him cheer wasn’t the thermal imager mounted on the lifting pole in the back seat; it was the leather bag he was holding in his hand.

David, holding the leather bag, excitedly shouted, “Money, it’s all money in here!”

Destin snapped his fingers with a smile and then loudly said, “Speed it up, we have a lot to gather.”

The Mercedes G350 was still drivable, so there was no need to hurry in dismantling the thermal imager from the car; instead, all the stuff was loaded onto the vehicle.

The spoils of the hunt were gradually gathered together, and in front of Gao Yang and his team, it seemed like an exhibition of precious hunting equipment had opened.

Choose the expensive, not the right ones—this seemed to be the consistent style of the oil-rich Middle Eastern tycoons.

Gao Yang and his team collected six shotguns firing rifle rounds, four double-barreled shotguns firing shot pellets, and after following Morgan and gaining some understanding of antique shotguns, Gao Yang could also tell that two of the side-by-side shotguns were definitely antiques.

Whether they were rifles or double-barreled shotguns, they all had one thing in common: not one of them could recognize the brand or origin of any of the guns.

Gao thought the most valuable thing was the large thermal imager, but he was proven wrong.

He didn’t know how much the shotguns were worth, but the night vision scopes and sights mounted on them were definitely worth over two hundred thousand US dollars in total.

According to Destin’s statement, a falcon covered over its eyes and placed on the back seat of the car was conservatively estimated to be worth more than two hundred thousand US dollars.

Out of a leather suitcase that was rummaged from the car’s trunk, which contained clothes, scarves, shoes, and other personal items, Naftalan pulled out a pair of slippers, telling Gao Yang that they were worth no less than five thousand US dollars.

The unremarkable-looking checked scarf was worth at least a thousand dollars.

No matter how expensive, clothes and shoes were definitely not what Gao Yang and his team wanted, so they could only be tossed aside.

Oh, and the leather suitcases that housed those personal items were also all from the hands of famous European designers, said to be worth at least ten thousand US dollars each, no ceiling to the price.

There was no helping it; no one present could be called poor, but they really couldn’t access the lifestyle of those tycoons, so as to how much their belongings were worth, no one knew.

As for gold and diamonds, there were no such findings.

Africa’s terrible security situation ultimately still required one to be discreet.

However, a more important reason was that those tycoons no longer needed to display their status and wealth with such heavy and cumbersome items.

Just think, the average big spender driving a car worth several hundred thousand dollars could show off a bit, but an oil magnate walking out with a cheetah could instantly overshadow all luxury cars.

Owning a private plane, like Morgan’s large one capable of intercontinental flights, could bring out some long faces.

If it were a smaller plane, better not to embarrass oneself; the falcons perched on the arms of those oil magnates were definitely much more expensive than a little plane.

As for the large thermal imagers, Gao Yang and his team obtained one and a half of them, the half being the one damaged by Gao Yang.

David followed Gao Yang to the unreleased Mercedes pickup, dismounting the damaged thermal imager.

Gao had damaged only a small part, but for a thermal imager, the price of a single piece of receiving glass was in the tens of thousands of US dollars.

Gao had only damaged a small portion; most of the components were still good, which altogether were worth quite a sum.

When hunting, using the large thermal imagers was an extravagance beyond words.

Although the thermal imagers weren’t military grade, they were definitely the latest model, but their price was not easy to pin down.

Thermal imagers like this didn’t have many applications, aside from military use, few other fields would buy them.

They would be very expensive to procure, but even when confiscated, whether they could be resold was a significant question.

Furthermore, when they were sold, the price was bound to be much lower.

So, according to Destin’s estimate, if they sold the one and a half thermal imagers, they might get over a hundred thousand US dollars, which was still not as valuable as a falcon.

While Naftalan and David were cleaning up the battlefield, Gao Yang and Destin were recovering everything that could potentially reveal their identities.

The Nuer United Front was not a concern, but at least five or six tycoons and more than a dozen bodyguards had died here, so this incident was not likely to conclude easily.

Gao Yang and Destin drove a car to retrieve the backpack and gun he had left in the bushes, then went out far to find the parachutes of Naftalan and David.

After bundling the parachutes and throwing them into the car with Destin, Gao couldn’t help but ask curiously, “Destin, if you’re worried about the Arabs seeking revenge, why not find out where they’re from, get to know the situation before killing them?”

Destin shook his head and said, “No need, I already know where they’re from, so what we have to do is just not to leave anything that might leak our identities.”

“Oh, where are they from?”

“Saudi Arabia, non-royal family members, not even from a collateral line, we should be grateful for that.

Otherwise, what happened here would cause a major international stir.

As for these people, they belong to a large family, but this family doesn’t have much influence, and these individuals were not key figures.

I know the direct leaders of this family; they definitely weren’t here.

So, we don’t have to worry too much.

There will be follow-ups to this event, but they won’t be able to trace it back to us.”

“How could you tell?”

“It’s simple, look at their cuffs, there’s a faint family crest.

Their emblem belongs to a big family, but it’s slightly different from the one used by the ruling branch, so it’s easy to draw a conclusion,” Destin explained with a hint of a smile, making a ‘you know what I mean’ gesture but not answering Gao Yang’s question directly.

Realizing he had asked a rather dumb question, Gao Yang immediately understood that someone with special forces training would certainly be prepared to identify their biggest hypothetical enemy.

Gao Yang nodded and asked, “So, is there anything else I need to know?”

Destin immediately replied, “Aside from those electronics and cash that don’t have obvious markings, most of the other items are marked, especially the shotguns.

Each of those shotguns is custom-made and almost unique.

To avoid unnecessary trouble, it’s best not to take them out carelessly, or even better, to just get rid of them.”

Gao Yang looked at the shotgun in his hands and felt that it would be a shame to simply discard it.

He didn’t care about the money; he just couldn’t bear to part with a finely crafted weapon.

So, there was no way he could throw it away; at worst, he would just tuck it away at home.

After collecting all the items they could take and loading the loot into the vehicle, Gao Yang and his team drove to the airplane to start loading it with goods.

The airplane Li Jinfang and his team had brought was a small, eight-seater, not too large because anything bigger would have had trouble landing on the grass.

It looked pretty worn out; finding a brand-new plane in Malakal was unlikely, but small, old planes were in abundance.

Unable to take the large items, they quickly loaded up the plane with the shotguns and thermal imagers, which didn’t take up much space.

Gao Yang, pointing to the falcon on David’s arm, said hesitantly, “What about this one?”

Destin immediately said, “It’s too eye-catching, better to release it.”

David smiled wryly and conceded, “Alright, let’s let it go.

Though I know it’s worth a lot, only those Arab guys from Saudi would buy such a thing,” David removed the hood from the falcon’s eyes, gestured with his arm, and the falcon soared high into the sky.

Watching the falcon fly away, David yelled, “Fly far away, and don’t get caught again!”

After shouting, David quickly entered the cabin and once everyone was seated inside the plane, they took off into the sky.

As the plane ascended, Gao Yang shouted, “Hey, Destin, thanks again for rescuing me.

You still haven’t introduced me to everyone.”

“David, the machine gunner; Naftalan, the assaulter; they both used to be Airborne Soldiers.”

David and Naftalan appeared to be in their forties.

After shaking hands with them, Gao Yang said with a smile, “You can tell; their parachute landing was too precise.

Definitely Airborne Soldiers.

Hey, thanks a lot.

You guys looked really cool dropping from the sky.

My name is Gao Yang, it’s an honor to meet you.”

Destin pointed to Girard, the pilot, and said, “Girard, the sniper, and as you saw, he can fly a plane too.”

Girard, being busy flying the plane, just turned his head and smiled at Gao Yang, who waved back and said, “Thanks, buddy, thanks to all of you.

Without you guys, I would have been in some serious trouble.”

Girard looked younger, about in his thirties, and responded with a smile, “No need to be polite, Boss.

I should be thanking you for giving me a job opportunity.

You know, high-paying and easy jobs are hard to find these days.”

Gao Yang, a bit taken aback, asked, “Boss?”

Destin laughed heartily and said, “They are employees of our Maritime Security Company; as a major shareholder, it’s not wrong for them to call you Boss.”

After saying this with a smile, Destin waved his hand and said, “Gao, no need to be so formal.

They are all brothers who have been through life and death with me, otherwise, I wouldn’t have asked them to come.”

David also laughed and said, “Gao, I heard you’ve saved our Boss before?

So, we were all very happy to help you out.”

Gao Yang chuckled and replied, “Well, thank you very much.

And now, it’s time to take inventory of the spoils.” (To be continued.
