Mercenary’s War
Chapter 264 - 264 262 Must Fight

264: Chapter 262 Must Fight 264: Chapter 262 Must Fight The siege of Bosaso had long been a goal for Maide and Abu, and after a surprise assault from the Mokadi faction and the Brits, their determination to capture Bosaso had only solidified.

The key now lay with Gao Yang, if Gao agreed to fight, then the Skull Gang would put forth their full effort to capture Bosaso.

If Gao disagreed, the plan to capture Bosaso would be indefinitely shelved, as Gao was currently in charge of all military affairs for the Skull Gang.

Gao believed in not going to war unprepared, and whether the Skull Gang possessed enough strength to attack Bosaso could only be determined after reconnaissance.

Gao had already sent people to Bosaso for reconnaissance twice, but the intelligence gathered was still too sparse.

He still didn’t know the exact number of troops in the Mokadi faction, nor their equipment status, especially whether the Mokadi faction had made any new moves since the last surprise attack.

Gao wanted to go to Bosaso in person for a closer look, as only then could he make an accurate judgement.

But their distinct skin color made them too conspicuous, rendering it almost impossible for them to sneak into Bosaso.

The locals who were sent for reconnaissance couldn’t provide any valuable information.

Out of the nine people sent in two batches, four had not returned, leaving their fate unknown.

Therefore, Gao had no choice but to halt the reconnaissance efforts to Bosaso.

The only thing Gao knew for sure was that the Mokadi faction was extremely tense.

They had heavily guarded each entrance to the city of Bosaso and were conducting thorough inspections.

After the failed surprise attack and subsequent shellacking by mortar fire, the Mokadi faction, which had the absolute numerical advantage, seemed to have lost their nerve.

Instead of attacking the Skull Gang again, they feared retaliation.

If possible, Gao hoped to wait a bit longer before attacking Bosaso.

The soldiers still needed training, and even one more month would make a big difference compared to a hasty assault.

But the problem now was that Gao could wait no longer; he wanted to launch an attack on Bosaso as soon as possible.

According to the schedule, Gao’s group had completed their training period, and the Instruction Platoon’s performance was enough to justify Maide’s three million US dollars.

They were ready to leave at any time.

Additionally, Fernando had made a call, Destin’s security company had successfully completed the application for maritime business, and all personnel had been found.

The funds from Destin and Bob had arrived, and with the additional ten million US Dollars from Gao’s group, their Maritime Security Company was ready to commence operations.

Yet these two reasons were not why Gao was eager to launch an assault.

The Maritime Security Company could commence operations smoothly with or without them, and the end of the contract period was not an issue at all.

Maide had paid an extra one million US Dollars as a bonus for the extra training they had provided for many soldiers this past month.

In fact, even if there was no money to be made, the six of them, including Gao, would not simply walk away.

After all, both the Instruction Platoon and the standing army had been trained by them from the ground up; it was impossible for them to feel nothing.

To ensure as many of their trained soldiers survived as possible, they would not rush to leave, even if it meant working for free.

The reason why Gao Yang could not keep his composure and began to urgently attack Bosaso was that he had received a message from Uriyangko, stating that the Mokadi Faction was scouring the world for mercenaries and had most likely already recruited a Mercenary Group.

This information was the main reason Gao Yang started to feel anxious.

The Mokadi Faction was wealthy, much wealthier than the Skull Gang.

Of course, it was Mokadi himself, the leader of this armed group, who possessed the wealth, not the Mokadi Faction as a whole.

However, when Mokadi felt that his rule over Bosaso was threatened and he couldn’t deal with the threat on his own, the most direct approach was to hire mercenaries with money and then simply take down the Skull Gang.

Uriyangko had been mixed up in Africa for many years and had a lot of dealings with mercenaries.

The intelligence from him should be reliable; although even Uriyangko did not know exactly how many mercenaries had arrived in Bosaso, Gao Yang had to be more vigilant.

Compared to the Skull Gang, the Mokadi Faction’s soldiers’ combat effectiveness was subpar, but compared to those mercenaries, the combat effectiveness of the Skull Gang’s soldiers was even worse.

Gao Yang felt that if he delayed any further, it would no longer be a question of whether the Skull Gang could take Bosaso, but whether the Mokadi Faction would rely on a large number of mercenaries to directly annihilate the Skull Gang.

It was after receiving the message from Uriyangko that Gao Yang could only gather Maide, Abu, and all the members of the Satan Mercenary Corps to discuss whether to attack Bosaso or not.

Although Gao Yang had the power to decide whether to go to war, it was ultimately Maide who was the boss of the Skull Gang.

Deciding to go to war without consulting Maide was clearly not plausible.

“Now, our standing army centered around the Instruction Platoon is ready to engage in combat against the Mokadi Faction.

Though we are at a disadvantage in numbers, we still have an edge in strength.

In addition, we have already prepared weapons and equipment to support a large-scale operation.

Ammunition for heavy weapons such as rocket launchers, mortars, and bazookas is fully sufficient.

Uriyangko can also rush supplies to us in an emergency.

These are our advantages.

However, the Mokadi Faction has very likely already obtained the help of mercenaries.

We cannot know the exact number and equipment of the mercenaries, nor can we judge the Mokadi Faction’s combat strength.

This is the biggest difficulty we face.

Now, you must make a choice—attack, or not.”

After Gao Yang finished speaking, Maide slowly said, “I think we should attack, even if we are not certain of victory.

We should strike early.

We now understand that the Skull Gang’s actions have affected too many people’s interests.

The longer we delay, the more enemies we will have.”

Abu survived with great difficulty, but after his severe injuries, recovery was slow.

While Maide was essentially able to move freely again, Abu still struggled to move.

However, although he was extremely weak and spoke with little strength in his voice, Abu was very determined.

“Fight!

We can only fight.

Given our position, we have no other choice but to expand westward.

Sooner or later, we will have to fight a battle with the Mokadi Faction.

It will be even harder if we wait for the Mokadi Faction to finish preparing.”

Gao Yang was, of course, very clear about the situation that Maide and Abu described.

He also knew that for the Skull Gang, attacking sooner rather than later was preferable.

Nonetheless, whether to fight was a decision that would determine the fate of Maide, Abu, the Skull Gang, and their fate had to be taken into their own hands.

Going to war was the only option, there was no doubt about that.

After receiving definite answers from Maide and Abu, Gao Yang nodded, saying, “Very well, we also believe we should strike immediately.

Now that we are unanimous in our decision to go to war and preparations on all fronts are complete, barring any unforeseen circumstances, we will start the operation tomorrow!

Gentlemen, now let us draw up a detailed battle plan.”
