Chapter 1403: 1,385th Chapter: Take care
Gao Yang felt a bit embarrassed after Andre called him naive.
Upon deeper reflection, Gao Yang could understand what was going on. He had a group of brothers he could entrust his life to, but that didn’t mean everyone in the world was worthy of such trust. The life-and-death bond among all of Satan was something he had painstakingly created, and it was maintained through their collective arduous efforts. Abusing such precious trust was too naive, even downright foolish. Although this was just a fleeting thought, something like this without proper consideration was still too naive.
Grand Ivan certainly crafted his team meticulously, yet Polovich still chose to stand by in his time of crisis. The human heart is too complex, so it’s best never to speak foolishly about making everyone thoroughly loyal.
Gao Yang chuckled wryly and said, "Alright, I’ll definitely not mention what happened here to Polovich."
Andre wiped his hands and said gravely, "Let’s get back to business. You’re planning an operation in Somalia, right?"
Gao Yang nodded and said, "Yes, I want to take over Berbera. To do it quickly, I’m planning an airborne assault."
Andre said with interest, "Oh, does the Skull Gang have money now? I could sell them some goods."
Personal favors are one thing, business is another. Gao Yang remembered this principle, so he immediately said, "Sorry, the Skull Gang’s business is mine now, at least this time it is. Well, according to the rules, I can source goods from you and sell them to the Skull Gang at a markup, but you can’t directly supply them, at least not this time."
Andre waved his hand and said, "Never mind, getting goods from me is dirt cheap anyway, and you know how we supply. This deal is yours, but just don’t compete with us for business in the future."
After speaking, Andre sighed, looking helpless, "When a war starts, all business must stop because we’ll surely attack each other’s supply lines. But if you want to do business, it should still be possible, as long as the scale isn’t too large. After all, Djo Masel shouldn’t be able to take care of small-time vendors now. Tell you what, I’ll give you my entire arms channel; take whatever you want directly. You helped me a lot, and I ought to return the favor."
Gao Yang immediately asked, "Do you have secure supply lines?"
Andre looked at Gao Yang and laughed loudly, "Are you joking? If I didn’t have secure supply lines, what kind of arms dealer would I be?"
Gao Yang rubbed his chin, then said seriously, "How about this, since you can’t focus on business right now, how about I handle it for you? Give me the arms and supply lines, and I’ll distribute them for you. We’ll split the profits."
Andre frowned and said, "Doing this after we’ve gone to war with Djo Masel carries some risks. But, then again, since we’re at war, under my full assault, Djo Masel shouldn’t have the resources to attack my transport line, right? After all, this is my turf. Okay, that’s a plan. I have two particularly hidden sources of supply, and no one knows they belong to me. It’s time to bring them out in case of emergencies."
Gao Yang chuckled lightly and said, "This is just an idea; it’s not certain we can pull it off, but we can give it a shot."
Andre nodded and said, "Right, we can give it a try. Let’s do this: once I’ve cleaned up Djo’s people here and the situation stabilizes, we can do business. The source and routes will be mine, but we’ll claim the business is Satan’s. With your name, I think Djo would have some apprehension, and given the hidden sources, no one would know they belong to me. Maybe the business could really work."
Gao Yang exhaled and said, "Alright, my priority now is to clean up the mess in Somalia. When you’re finding people, get some for me too—two hundred men. How much do you estimate they’ll cost?"
Andre looked at Gao Yang and said seriously, "Do they all need airborne capability?"
Gao Yang nodded, "Preferably, at least a hundred should have airborne combat capability. I can capture the airport first, and once it’s secured, the others can descend and launch operations."
Andre waved his large hand and said, "Why make it so complicated? I’ll find all airborne soldiers for you, preferably in organized units for easier command. As for money, how long do you plan to use these men?"
Gao Yang pondered for a moment and said grimly, "Just long enough to take Berbera, so I don’t think it’d be too long."
Andre stroked his beard and said gravely, "Taking Berbera shouldn’t take long. At most, two days to seize Berbera, and another three days should be enough to reinforce its defense. Oh man, only five days; it’s not a long time. Paying by the day isn’t ideal. How about we pay by mission? You’re more familiar with this; if we pay by mission, what do you think is a fair price?"
Gao Yang frowned and said, "That’s tricky. It depends on the quality of the mercenaries and the difficulty of the mission. Although this mission isn’t that difficult, it requires highly skilled personnel. Are the people you’re finding from a mercenary group or what?"
Andre said gravely, "They’re not from a mercenary group, and they’re not really mercenaries either. They just fight for Grand Ivan, although they do require payment. Think of them as free mercenaries. They have high combat quality, but most of them aren’t young. I’ll equip them with gear, no shortage of arms on my end. You set a price."
Gao Yang found it somewhat challenging; Andre pays five thousand a day for men, but that’s for the price of long-term employment. The war between Grand Ivan and Djo Masel won’t end in a few months, but in his case, it’s short-term, so the pay has to be higher. Two hundred men, paying too much wouldn’t be affordable.
Gao Yang frowned and said, "This commission is tough to set, do you think ten thousand per person per day is doable?"
Andre thought for a moment, then shook his head and said, "Hard to say, the commission is a bit too low. Getting them to fly all the way over, and you wrap up the fight in a day, how’s that supposed to work? Or maybe factor in the travel time as well? Never mind, let’s make it fifty thousand per person, for the entire task regardless of the time, how’s that?"
Gao Yang clapped his hands and said, "Alright, as long as you think this price will attract people."
Andre exhaled and smiled, "I need two days to prepare. Within five days, I’ll get you two hundred fully armed men. Don’t worry about the plane; we’ll just transport them by air."
Gao Yang checked his watch, noting that over twenty minutes had passed since he was stopped. He then said solemnly, "Alright, it’s settled. I need to get to the hospital fast, I’ll get you the cash soon, and as for the rest, give me an account number."
Andre reached out, looking troubled, and said, "Come on, I need the thirty million quickly, but could you also help me borrow some more money? This thirty million isn’t enough."
Gao Yang said surprised, "In such a rush, borrow now?"
Andre nodded, looking troubled, "I’m feeling uneasy without money in hand; can’t fight a war without funds."
Gao Yang exhaled and said helplessly, "Alright, I’ll make a few calls on my way to the hospital to see if I can help you out."
Andre waved his hand and said in a deep voice, "Have your guys be careful, and I need to be cautious too. Try to avoid letting Djo find out about our relationship, but if Djo already knows, there’s nothing we can do."
Gao Yang shrugged and said, "Djo Malthael has long known about my close ties with Uriyangko. Fine, let’s hope he just considers me an ordinary customer. Well then, I’ll take my leave."
Andre reached out again and said, "Don’t rush off, let Tommy come over for a chat. Who knows if we’ll have the chance to meet again in the future."
Gao Yang turned his head, seeing Tommy guarding nearby, and shouted, "Tommy, come over here."
Tommy quickly ran over, and after reaching Gao Yang and Andre, he nodded at Andre and said, "Boss, what’s up?"
Gao Yang pointed at Andre and smiled, "Nothing, he wants to catch up with you."
Tommy looked at Andre and smiled, "Hey boss, long time no see. How have you been?"
Andre gave Tommy a strong pat on the shoulder and loudly said, "Buddy, long time no see, come back and work for me again."
Tommy smiled and shook his head, "Sorry, boss, I can’t leave Satan right now."
Andre sighed and waved his hand, "Just kidding, I know you’re doing well now, don’t take it seriously. Although, if I’d known two years ago that Europe was going to explode, I wouldn’t have let you go."
Tommy awkwardly smiled, not knowing what to say, and after thinking for a while, he solemnly asked, "How are the guys? Maxim, how is he? I didn’t see him earlier, seems like you’ve got a lot of new faces around."
Andre shook his head, stroked his beard, and said with a solemn face, "He’s dead, Maxim’s dead, Alexander, Igor, and Little Donkey, they’re all dead. Just a few days ago, I had to leave for a bit and left the business to them. A couple of days ago, they were killed in Luhansk. I’m already planning to avenge him, just so you know."
Tommy’s face quickly darkened, but he only sighed and said solemnly, "They’re all dead, huh, they’re all gone."
Andre shrugged, tilted his head, then spread his arms toward Tommy, saying solemnly, "Alright, buddy, in our line of work, it’s just a matter of time."
Tommy and Andre hugged tightly, then Andre gave Tommy a few firm pats on the back, saying solemnly, "Just saying goodbye, old buddy, take care."
Tommy also gave Andre a few solid pats on the back and said solemnly, "Take care, brother!" (To be continued.
