The meeting place with Rebrov was still at the No. 1206 Ammo Depot, right in Kofupake’s former office.

Gao Yang’s car stopped by the roadside, with Number Thirteen as the driver, and Li Jinfang and Eileen serving as his bodyguards.

One more turn and they would reach the entrance of the ammo depot. Sitting in the car, Gao Yang raised his wrist to check his watch once more, then said in a deep voice, "The time has come, let’s go, Leonard."

Number Thirteen turned to look at Gao Yang, speaking solemnly, "The signal relay station is on. If anything feels off, say the code word early."

Gao Yang nodded and then said softly, "Report your positions and do a sound check."

"Rabbit here, reached the designated position. Communication signal is normal. Over."

"Worker Bee here, in position. Everything is normal. Over."

"Big Dog here, reached the designated position. Clear reception, no signal problem. Over."

Gao Yang waved to Number Thirteen and smiled, "No signal issues, we’re moving out."

Number Thirteen said seriously, "If you think there’s an issue, we shouldn’t go. It’s not too late to cancel the meeting now."

Gao Yang shook his head, "No issue. It’s just a feeling of unease. This morning my right eyelid kept twitching, so I want to take precautionary measures for peace of mind, that’s all."

Number Thirteen frowned, "Eyelid twitching? What kind of nonsense is that?"

Gao Yang laughed, "You wouldn’t understand. We say left eye brings wealth, right eye brings disaster. This morning both my left and right eyes wouldn’t stop twitching."

Number Thirteen looked stunned, then sneered at Gao Yang incredulously, "You’re making everyone prepare for an ambush just because of that?"

"Exactly, just because of that."

Number Thirteen involuntarily leaned back as if trying to distance himself from Gao Yang, then he frowned and said sternly, "Alright, we’re going in. Let’s see if you’ll find fortune or misfortune today and whether your eyelids are so magical."

Number Thirteen started the car, driving a stretch along the quiet road until reaching the depot gate.

A soldier came out from the gate to the car side, waiting for Number Thirteen to roll down the window, and then said expressionlessly, "This is a military restricted area. No approaching allowed, please leave immediately."

Number Thirteen responded in a deep voice, "We’re here to see General Voronin."

The soldier glanced inside the car, then returned to the guard post, picked up a phone, said a few words, and then the gate quickly opened from the inside.

As Number Thirteen drove the car through the gate, he didn’t look at the road but at the soldiers at the gate until they were far in, then turned back and said sternly, "Those soldiers look normal. If they received special orders, there’d be something unusual."

Gao Yang smiled, "Isn’t it good that everything’s normal?"

Number Thirteen frowned, "But you said you had a bad feeling, so of course, I need to check things carefully."

Gao Yang waved his hand and said solemnly, "Let’s go. We’re inside now. If anything really happens, it’ll be too late to get out. Let’s meet Rebrov first."

The car stopped in front of the office building, and Rebrov and his guards waited at the entrance for them.

The office building wasn’t tall, only three stories, but it had a large footprint, a typical Soviet-style architecture. The last time Gao Yang came, time was too tight, so he went straight to the ammo depot and didn’t enter. This time, he still couldn’t enter.

Rebrov stood on the high steps, the car stopped, and Gao Yang got out, extending his hand towards Rebrov. Just as he stepped onto a stair, Rebrov waved his hand, and suddenly, a dozen soldiers with rifles swarmed out from the office building behind him, along with a large group from all sides and behind, some carrying rocket launchers and holding machine guns.

A car riddled with bullets like a hornet’s nest, yet no harm to those inside, could only happen in a movie. In reality, unless it’s a bulletproof car, being shot at by dozens of guns means being riddled with holes.

Gao Yang had no intention of defying common sense; he immediately raised his hands, a puzzled look on his face as he said to Rebrov, "General, I thought we were friends. What does this mean?"

Rebrov glanced at Gao Yang with a complex look but didn’t answer his question, standing silently on the spot, quietly watching Gao Yang across the dozen steps.

At this moment, several people walked out of the office building. Leading them was a middle-aged man in his forties, wearing a suit instead of a military uniform.

Standing beside Rebrov, the middle-aged man looked down at Gao Yang with disdain and said, "Is it you? The one daring enough to come here and poach my business, and even steal my missiles?"

Gao Yang cracked a smile and said confusedly, "Sorry, sir, I want to understand what it means to steal something belonging to you."

The middle-aged man touched his chin, then said angrily, "The missiles you took from here are mine. In fact, everything here is mine. You ignorant fool, hasn’t anyone told you not to do arms deals here?"

Gao Yang smiled bitterly, "Sorry, I really didn’t know. I think there’s some misunderstanding here. If there’s any offense, I hope for your pardon. I can compensate you."

The middle-aged man shook his head, waved dismissively, and said, "No need. Since you dared to do arms deals here, you can only die. If you were just buying a few guns or bullets, I could’ve pretended not to see, but your ambition is too big. There’s nothing more to say. You have to die."

Gao Yang hurriedly said, "Wait, wait, folks. I don’t want a mutual destruction, so before you decide to shoot me, please look at the right side pillar, the first letter on it, see it?"

The middle-aged man sneered, "What’s to see? Nothing matters."

Despite his words, the middle-aged man turned his head, and as he turned, Gao Yang smiled, "OK, please watch there."

Before Gao Yang’s words fell, the wooden plaque’s first letter on the brick column suddenly shattered, then the supporting pillar made of bricks burst apart, with fragments and dust shooting out, leaving just a small hole on the wooden plaque, but a head-sized hole behind the pillar.

Everyone instinctively shrank back and stepped one or two steps back. A 12.7mm anti-material sniper rifle bullet is immensely powerful and intimidating.

Right then, Gao Yang raised his voice and shouted, "Nobody move, stay in your positions. If you move and get shot, don’t blame me." (To be continued.
