Mercenary’s War
Chapter 1351 - 1334: Private Lawyer

Chapter 1351: Chapter 1334: Private Lawyer

Jin Jizhe is in big trouble.

The remote fight arrangement excited a group of mercenaries who are always looking for action.

Gao Yang was also very excited. Usually low-key in nature, he made a decision that was completely different from his usual approach.

"All of you, whoever posts a video on YouTube, respond immediately, saying I’m ready to go all the way!"

After making this bold decision, Gao Yang smiled and said, "This time, we’re going to make a big splash, the more sensational the better. We’re about to head to Ukraine now, so time is a bit tight. Also, where would be a suitable place for this event?"

Albert laughed and said, "We can set the time, and as for the place, it’s really simple. With this being so sensational, someone will surely offer a venue. Don’t worry, people will contact us proactively."

Li Jinfang was also stirred up. As others were eagerly discussing the plan, he sat aside and watched the video. After finishing it, Li Jinfang stood up and said solemnly, "This guy is not straightforward. First, he claims his age, then suggests you fight his disciple first. What’s that about? You have to fight his disciple to qualify to fight him, implying you’re beneath him. Plus, I bet this guy will find a master to fight you instead, claiming it’s his disciple, but probably he’s found a real combat expert somewhere."

Gao Yang was taken aback and said, "Yeah, I hadn’t thought of that."

Li Jinfang chuckled and said, "No problem. He has a disciple, so do you. I’m your disciple, let me go first when the time comes."

Although he wanted to handle everything himself, Gao Yang felt Li Jinfang’s plan was safer. There are always stronger people and unexpected challenges. Gao Yang was confident against Jin Jizhe since he was skilled in real combat while Jin Jizhe leaned towards performance. But if Jin Jizhe finds a real combat expert to set him up, without knowing his opponent, he might suffer. It’s like they say, any well-known fighting style has its standout features.

Gao Yang’s confidence in Li Jinfang was far greater than in himself. If he felt a bit unsure about facing off himself, letting Li Jinfang fight for him made him fearless.

Gao Yang wanted to fully immerse himself in the fight arrangement with Jin Jizhe. Unfortunately, he couldn’t. The fight, at most, was a pastime. Whether he liked it or not, he had more important matters to attend to. While others were excited and preparing for the fight, he had other tasks to handle.

After a simple lunch, Gao Yang changed into more formal attire and went to knock on Number Thirteen’s door, shouting, "We need to head out."

Gao Yang and his team were staying in a not-so-luxurious hotel, having booked over a dozen rooms as their temporary base, and their car was in the hotel’s underground parking lot.

Since they were going for business negotiations, the purchased luxury car for appearance couldn’t just sit idle. The only issue was that driving an ultra-luxury car required a driver, so Gao Yang had to recruit someone as his chauffeur.

Clarence Marshall, the person Gao Yang was going to meet, a famous American lawyer who runs his own law firm with a team.

Having a very renowned lawyer means half a battle won before even going to court. Enlisting a little-known lawyer might lead to prolonged litigation, while hiring a famous lawyer greatly increases the likelihood of an out-of-court settlement, as everyone knows the chances of losing to such lawyers are too high. Rather than fighting a lawsuit for several years, it’s better to settle the matter outside court.

Strictly speaking, Clarence Marshall wasn’t Gao Yang’s best choice, because Clarence specialized in economic lawsuits, making him popular on Wall Street. Considering Gao Yang’s profession, he was more likely to face criminal lawsuits than economic ones. However, Gao Yang didn’t have a better option at the moment, and although Clarence excelled in economic lawsuits, he could handle other types as well, especially with his extensive, capable, and renowned team.

Gao Yang and Number Thirteen were the only ones who arrived at the base of Clarence’s law firm. After parking the car steadily, Number Thirteen professionally got out and walked to the rear right door, opening it for Gao Yang as if he were a professional driver, while Gao Yang exited the vehicle like a businessman and entered the office building where the law firm was located.

The office building was large, already famous and bustling on Wall Street, with people coming in and out, exuding a busy atmosphere. Although accustomed to luxury cars, the sight of a rare Rolls-Royce coupled with an overly young wealthy individual exiting it still attracted attention.

The office building had many elevators, and it’s unseemly for a successful billionaire to squeeze into an elevator with ordinary employees and white-collar workers.

Thus, in New York’s office buildings, there’s inevitably an elevator reserved for big shots. If a single company occupies a building, surely several private elevators are left aside. If many units share a building, two elevators are set aside for those bosses.

The building Gao Yang entered had elevators reserved for wealthy people. Regular people wouldn’t approach these elevators, mainly because someone at the elevator area manages a good look and decides who can and cannot use them.

Gao Yang got off the car, entered, and naturally headed toward the special elevator for big shots. An African American elder dressed in security uniform at the office building naturally gestured for Gao Yang to enter with a smile, saying, "Good afternoon, sir."

"Good afternoon, sixty-third floor, thank you."

Arriving alone, Gao Yang saw the African American elder open the elevator and even leaned in to press the floor button for Gao Yang, all flowing very naturally.

Standing inside the elevator, waiting for the door to close and ascend, Gao Yang sighed, speaking to himself, "This is what a luxury car brings."

In terms of temperament and dress, Gao Yang wouldn’t immediately be viewed as a big boss. In New York, on Wall Street, his money was meager, nothing at all, but the issue was he possessed a rare luxury car. The elevator staff could see the luxury car and see him exit it.

The elevator ascended quickly; when its doors opened, Gao Yang’s confident smile was already in place as he stepped out.

Approaching the front desk, Gao Yang stopped and smiled, saying, "Hello, I’d like to see Mr. Marshall."

"Do you have an appointment, sir?"

"Yes, my surname is Gao."

"Mr. Gao, welcome to our firm, please follow me."

Three people were stationed at the reception area, showing how busy Clarence Marshall’s law firm was. The reception lady guiding Gao Yang went to an office door, knocked gently, and whispered, "Mr. Marshall, Mr. Gao has arrived."

"Please enter."

Gao Yang was invited inside. A man in his fifties stood up from behind his desk, approached, extended his hand, and smiled, "Mr. Gao, welcome to our firm."

After shaking hands and exchanging a few simple pleasantries, Clarence sat with Gao Yang on the sofa to show his regard for him, and this treatment was undoubtedly thanks to Morgan’s recommendation playing a crucial role.

After they sat and his secretary served coffee, Clarence smiled and said, "Mr. Gao, you’re much younger than I imagined. When Mr. Reeves said he’d introduce a client to me, I didn’t expect you to be so youthful."

After discreetly complimenting Gao Yang, Clarence shifted his tone with a smile, "Mr. Gao, you need a personal lawyer. If you don’t mind, could you briefly introduce yourself and outline your needs, then I can recommend a suitable lawyer for you."

Gao Yang thought for a moment and said solemnly, "I have a newly established private military company headquartered in Houston. All operations conducted by my company are legal, but outside America, I engage in numerous business activities that are not legal. You understand now?"

Clarence nodded lightly, replying, "I understand very well, your situation is indeed special. But let’s put that aside for now, let’s talk about your personal needs. Do you have any legal issues that need resolving now?"

Gao Yang shrugged, "Regarding my personal affairs, currently there are no legal issues. Frankly, I have many fake identities because my work doesn’t allow me to reveal my real identity. Exposing my identity brings too much trouble."

With the certainty of lawyer confidentiality, Gao Yang wasn’t hesitant to discuss sensitive matters with Clarence. However, he still wouldn’t disclose his true identity, even though lawyers are assured not to leak information. He wouldn’t say everything simply because he mentally couldn’t get past it.

Clemens gently tapped the table and frowned, saying, "You’re saying you often do illegal activities, correct?"

Greater legal risks for clients mean higher lawyer fees; lower risks mean lower fees. Since Gao Yang decided to hire a personal lawyer, he wasn’t afraid of spending more money. Therefore, he promptly replied solemnly, "Yes, outside America, I often engage in illegal activities. In America, I strive to keep everything legal, but who can truly guarantee that?"

Clemens immediately nodded and said sternly, "I understand, I have suitable recommendations for you."

Gao Yang nodded but recalled something immediately and said, "Mr. Marshall, I have something I want to consult you on. I might soon have an MMA-style duel, if convenient, could you help analyze the legal risks involved?" (To be continued.
