Chapter 1308: Chapter One Thousand Two Hundred Ninety-One: Why Have You Only Just Arrived?

Albert finished speaking his emotional last words, but immediately afterward, the voice that came through the headset wasn’t Cui Bo or Glolov—it was Eileen, angrily shouting.

“Save your last words! Are you all out of your minds hogging the channel? Get ready to break out; we’re here!”

A red helicopter suddenly rose from below beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows. Hearing the deafening noise outside, everyone instinctively turned their heads toward the commotion. Even though the room was filled with smoke, they could still see Li Jinfang and Frey sitting at the helicopter’s door, their faces grim and ferocious.

The powerful downdraft from the helicopter’s rotors made the fire on the second floor burn more intensely. Flames shot downward through the cracks faster, and the heat inside the building grew rapidly, scorching everything.

Though the rotor’s wind worsened the fire, Li Jinfang and the team had to rise abruptly from below the cliff to maximize the element of surprise.

Eileen screamed hoarsely into the intercom, “Get out now!”

Explosions and gunfire echoed outside as the helicopter soared over the building, firing down on the ground.

Smoke billowed from everyone’s clothes; though none were on fire yet, steam rose as the water on their bodies boiled away. Albert threw a blanket over Gao Yang’s face and roared, “Charge!”

The door was engulfed in flames. Krulney and Rafael staggered to the inferno-ridden entrance; both kicked at it with all their strength, creating holes but failing to break it open.

Neither had time to extinguish the fire already on their pant legs. Rafael screamed in agony, “Smash it!”

The two backed up, then launched themselves forward with all their might, slamming into the door. With a deafening bang, flames surged inward from outside, swallowing Rafael and Krulney. The pair collapsed directly onto the burning door.

Screaming in anguish, Rafael and Krulney rolled to the sides, desperately trying to smother the flames on their bodies.

Albert roared furiously, clutching Gao Yang tightly as he lowered his head and charged through the fiery tongues. Beside him, Karima draped a blanket over herself and dragged the immobile Number Thirteen, chasing closely behind.

As people rushed out of the room, flames clung to their bodies—with the exception of Gao Yang, whose blanket emitted only steam rather than burning.

Meanwhile, Li Jinfang shouted loudly as the helicopter hovered four or five meters above the ground. With a gun in one hand and a fire extinguisher in the other, he leapt down directly into the chaos.

Rafael and Krulney screamed while rolling in pain. Albert set Gao Yang down on the ground, then frantically slapped at the flames consuming him. Karima threw off the blanket she’d been wearing and started beating the burning hair on Number Thirteen’s head with her hands.

Landing hard with a roll, Li Jinfang immediately stood up and aimed the fire extinguisher at Rafael, spraying him down. The extinguisher released a liquid that vaporized as soon as it left the nozzle, dousing Rafael’s flames. After extinguishing the fires on both Rafael and Krulney, Li Jinfang spun the extinguisher around, spraying Albert and Number Thirteen in turn.

Li Jinfang worked quickly as if he had returned to his days as a firefighter. Before the helicopter even touched down, Frey and Andy He had already jumped out one after the other. The battle raged on, with guards hiding inside the building still firing sporadically, though the helicopter’s suppressing fire made accuracy nearly impossible.

Li Jinfang, having finished extinguishing the flames on everyone, tossed aside the spent extinguisher. He emptied a magazine toward the guards still shooting from inside, then scooped up Gao Yang and sprinted away.

Albert grabbed Rafael’s arm and lifted him onto his shoulders, hobbling toward safety. Andy He hoisted Number Thirteen up effortlessly, holding a rifle in his other hand and firing at the guards’ positions.

Frey threw several grenades consecutively and then grabbed both Krulney and the barely-standing Karima, dragging them out in a chaotic scramble.

The entire rescue lasted less than ten seconds. The blaze was so close that no one could bear the heat—it was suffocatingly oppressive. Without needing any reminders, each person completed their task at maximum speed, instinctively dragging whoever was nearest and bolting toward safety without hesitation.

Rafael, Krulney, Albert, Number Thirteen, and Karima all relied on sheer survival instinct to escape the inferno. Once outside, however, moving further became nearly impossible. Every one of them was on the verge of collapse. If they’d been delayed by even a matter of seconds, those inside wouldn’t have been able to get out alive through their own strength.

Above, two helicopters roared overhead. Jansen and Tommy remained onboard, each occupying the cabin doors of their respective helicopters, firing continuous rounds toward the ground.

The scorched and battered group finally escaped the fire’s grasp. Suharitan’s guards, meanwhile, lay dead or injured; the survivors huddled inside the building, unable to even lift their heads.

Glolov and Cui Bo finally joined the group below. Positioned higher up, neither could have descended recklessly like Albert. If they’d been relied upon for the rescue, Gao Yang would’ve been roasted like a Ram on a spit.

As they fled the resort grounds, Cui Bo sprinted ahead, meeting Li Jinfang halfway.

Cui Bo, bloodied and battered, his head and face drenched in blood, wiped the sticky mess from his eyes after standing face-to-face with Li Jinfang and shouted, “Curtis! Brother Yang, how are you? Are you alright? Say something, damn it! Brother Yang, just say something!”

Gao Yang opened his eyes weakly and said, “Stop yelling… I’m alive, I’m alive…”

Krulney, barely holding himself together, groaned feebly, “Money! The money! The house was full of cash!”

Frey glanced at the raging fire consuming the building. At that moment, another burst of flames shot skyward as the second-floor collapsed, weakened by the inferno.

Frey sighed deeply, his face filled with anguish, yet utterly resigned. “Why don’t you go in and get it then?”

Krulney moaned in despair, “It’s gone. Fifteen million! Fifteen million dollars!”

Albert set Rafael down gently, then collapsed to the ground himself, lying flat as he exhaled deeply, laughing foolishly. “Ha… ha… we made it out alive.”

Rafael, however, remained on the ground and looked at Li Jinfang, who was gasping for air nearby. Rafael cracked a shaky smile and stammered, half-laughing, half-crying, “Why did you take so long to get here? I thought I was really done for… Why did you take so long to get here…”

Rafael’s laughter soon turned to sobbing. The experience of narrowly escaping death—having rolled on the doorstep of Hell multiple times—made it impossible for anyone to stay composed unless they were made of solid iron.

Glolov rushed into the midst of the survivors, panting heavily as he looked at Gao Yang and then the others, who had barely escaped becoming charcoal, before waving his hand and shouting angrily, “No time for talking now! Dragon Knight stays—everyone else, follow me inside! Leave no one standing!”
