Chapter 1287: Chapter One Thousand Two Hundred Seventy Giant Python
Causing a commotion to stir up a snake is all about making enough noise; after all, the goal is just to scare the snake out, not to catch it.
Gao Yang, Eileen, Andy He, and Frey drove a car heading towards the city area.
There weren’t many people, but they were well-equipped. Gao Yang didn’t expect to run into Victor. His plan was to fire a few shots at key locations and launch a couple of rockets, then call it a day.
The weather was still cold, and it was the early hours of the morning. The streets were empty, with dim streetlights still working. Gao Yang and the others didn’t need to use headlights and drove openly near the city hall.
The road to the city hall was straight, but it wasn’t close. Even at a decent speed, it took over twenty minutes. Following the GPS directions, they reached the vicinity of the city hall when Eileen suddenly pointed and whispered, “There, the city hall.”
Feodosia’s city hall was an old building, at least a hundred years old. At night, it was pitch black, and no one lived inside the city hall at night, making the entire building dark. You wouldn’t notice it without looking closely.
Driving, Eileen parked the car in a shadowed corner and whispered, “Is it meaningful to shoot here? Even if Victor is in Feodosia, he surely wouldn’t stay in the city hall. If we shoot here, can we scare Victor?”
Gao Yang glanced around. There were quite a few tall buildings. They were right in the most bustling area of Feodosia, with quite a few neon signs of malls and hotels lit up. But Eileen was right; though it was bustling, the chance of Victor hiding here was indeed slim.
After hesitating for a moment, Gao Yang waved his hand and whispered, “Let’s just fire here. We don’t even know where Victor is anyway. Just fire a shot whether he’s here or not.”
Eileen said confusedly, “Dates? What do you mean?”
Gao Yang bitterly smiled, “It doesn’t mean anything. It just means regardless of whether Victor is here, we’ll do it anyway.”
After speaking, Gao Yang reached for his pistol from his waist and whispered, “Come on, get ready to start; leave quickly after firing, don’t get trapped.”
Frey picked up an RPG-27 Rocket Launcher, eagerly saying, “Shall I launch one?”
“Launch one; no, make it two, make it louder.”
Frey hesitated, “Then where should I shoot?”
Gao Yang looked around and whispered, “We certainly can’t harm innocent people. Find a place where no one will get hurt to shoot at. Hmm, just aim for the city hall’s walls. Even if the walls get damaged, someone will pay to repair them. Damaging civilians’ walls or glass means they have to fix it themselves.”
Frey chuckled softly, “I’m getting off.”
Andy He picked up a machine gun and laughed, “We need machine guns too. I’ll get off and fire a drum.”
Gao Yang immediately said, “Wait, let me fire the machine gun. I haven’t shot a burst in a long time; usually, I fire single shots. I haven’t done much sweeping fire; let me indulge this time.”
Andy He shrugged, took up his AK74 rifle, and laughed, “Then I won’t even need to get out of the car.”
Eileen was the driver. She pulled out an AK74U from her side, holding the gun with one hand, and said, “Ready to start?”
Gao Yang got out of the car, took the machine gun from the rear seat, and held it in his arms, while Frey had already dismounted and aimed the rocket launcher at the city hall’s side wall.
After pulling the trigger with a snap, Gao Yang laughed, “Didn’t expect that Big Dog’s spare machine gun would come in handy here. Get ready, open fire!”
With a swish, Frey launched the rocket; it hit the city hall’s outer wall and erupted with a massive explosion sound. Meanwhile, Gao Yang had already started firing.
There was no need to aim; Gao Yang just needed to fire the bullets generally on the whole wall. He habitually fired a single shot and reminded himself to just hold the trigger and sweep. However, his long-standing habit made him let go of the trigger after a short burst.
Eileen was holding the gun with one hand out of the car window firing into the air, and Andy He was directly firing into the air while sitting in the car. After both of them stopped shooting, Andy He looked at Gao Yang and laughed, “Ha ha! You don’t even know how to fire bursts anymore!”
Gao Yang raised the gun, showed a middle finger to Andy He, then lowered the gun, held it with both hands, and slotted the bullets away by pulling the trigger.
Eileen and Andy He also continued firing, while Frey had already taken the second rocket launcher, ready to fire at the wall.
Gao Yang’s drum had seventy-five rounds, while Eileen and Andy He’s magazines had thirty rounds, so when the two of them almost simultaneously stopped shooting, Gao Yang was still sweeping the wall.
Eileen and Andy He were changing magazines, and Gao Yang was still sweeping, just standing by the car sweeping back and forth.
Just when Gao Yang was having his fun firing, Eileen turned her head and laughed to Andy He, “Boss…”
Before Eileen finished her sentence, Gao Yang jumped up as if bitten by Scorpion, then turned and threw the machine gun into the back seat onto Andy He’s lap, shouting, “Run! Run! We are under attack, start the car fast!”
“F**k, it’s so hot!”
Andy He instinctively grabbed the gun Gao Yang threw to him, but his hand landed directly on the barrel.
“What happened?”
Before Eileen could finish her sentence, a bullet hit the ground in front of Frey’s toe, striking sparks.
Frey was stunned for a moment, then immediately shouted, “F**k! Run fast!”
Eileen’s hands weren’t even on the steering wheel, but her foot was on the clutch. The car was still in gear, so she released the clutch directly to make the car lunge forward. Gao Yang, who had thrown the gun to Andy He, ran a few steps and dove into the passenger seat.
Frey, running to catch the car, couldn’t afford to stand in place after being shot at. He tossed the rocket launcher into the car first, which landed directly on Andy He’s leg, then lunged himself into the car.
Seeing that Frey got into the car, with his legs still wildly kicking outside, Eileen floored the gas pedal, and the engine roared as the car shot forward.
After Frey managed to sit properly, he slammed the door shut and shouted, “Alright, go, go, go!”
As the car lunged forward sharply, there were several bangs, and the rear windshield of the SUV shattered. Bullets came from the side, making holes in the car before shattering the glass on the back hatch.
“Machine gun, heavy machine gun! What the hell’s going on?”
Gao Yang shouted, “F**k! We hit the jackpot! We hooked a big shark!”
Frey shouted, “We stirred the grass and scared out a Giant Python! And it wants to swallow us alive, F**k!”
“A bullet grazed my pants! Damn it! The bullet came from that building next to the city hall. F**k, thankfully it’s far; thank heavens! I nearly got scared to death!”
Gao Yang’s expression was somewhat wrong because he wasn’t scared but startled at this point.
The plan was to fire a few shots in the air and then leave. It was supposed to be just for show, but then they encountered return fire. If Gao Yang hadn’t been on the battlefield for so long, with the bullet skimming his pants and making him react instantaneously, he might have still been standing there waiting to get shot.
The car was already speeding up; Gao Yang turned his head back to see if anyone was chasing. He thought even if they hit the jackpot, there wouldn’t be anyone chasing them, but just as he turned his head back, Andy He, with a face full of disbelief, said, “We indeed hit the jackpot! Two cars, no, three cars are chasing us!”
While shouting, Andy He mounted the machine gun, ready to fire, and Gao Yang yelled, “Reload, reload, I used up all the bullets!”
The car became a bit chaotic for a moment, understandably. They were supposed to sneak around quietly after all, and who would’ve thought they’d be shot at?
Andy He hastily reloaded the RPK machine gun with a new drum, while the cars chasing them from behind began shooting.
Frey looked out through the glassless rear window, then shouted, “Hell! Machine gun, wow! How is their aim so precise?”
The bullets didn’t hit Gao Yang’s car. Firing from a moving vehicle at high speed is no easy task, but the bullets from behind were never far from their car—at the closest, a tracer bullet passed by just a few meters away, scaring Frey into screaming.
Eileen shouted, “Hold on tight!”
After a sharp brake, Eileen sharply turned onto a narrower street, but after running for a while, just as Gao Yang thought they should soon leave the pursuers behind, the cars from behind were still chasing them, closing the distance from at least seven or eight hundred meters to less than five hundred meters.
“Their cars are modified. F**k! They’re in sedans; how can they still have heavy machine guns? It’s so unfair!”
Frey shouted once more,
Andy He followed up with a shout, “Not heavy machine guns, 7.62mm general-purpose machine guns!”
Frey said bitterly, “You’re arguing about this with me now?”
Eileen was driving a Toyota SUV that was at least twenty years old, with a four-speed manual transmission. After being painted with the Ukrainian Army’s general camo, even Gao Yang couldn’t recognize the model. The vehicle was tall, great for rough or off-road terrain, but had no advantage in the city. It wasn’t just slow; turning too sharply would definitely cause it to flip.
The pursuers behind them were in sedans, not only faster and quicker around corners, but with machine guns mounted on top of the cars, more convenient for shooting.
Andy He finally mounted the machine gun, and a series of bullets fired out. He had a stroke of luck—in the SUV, swerving to dodge bullets, Gololov couldn’t hit him, but Andy He’s bluffing spray of bullets hit directly on the front windshield of the car behind.
“Yeah! Oh, shit! Bulletproof car!”
The excitement lasted only a moment before turning to shock for Frey as another series of bullets from behind opened a few more holes in the car roof.
The pursuing car must’ve been lucky too; firing at high speed, hitting the target would have been by chance.
After firing a few more shots, Andy He shouted, “They’re getting closer again!”
With Gao Yang straining his neck to look back, he suddenly shouted, “I know that car! I know it! That’s Signal Flag’s bulletproof car, the one they use for protection and defense missions! They’re Russians! Damn Russians, we really hooked a shark!”
Frey shouted, “No, it’s a Giant Python!” (To be continued. If you like this work, please visit Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendation tickets, monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please read on m.qidian.com.)
