Mercenary’s War -
Chapter 1262: 1245: Stop
Chapter 1262: Chapter 1245: Stop
When Gao Yang walked out of Krulney’s room, he felt as if his whole body was floating, his steps unsteady, to the point where he could barely walk straight.
As Gao Yang was about to get into the elevator, Eileen suddenly emerged from the stairwell used as a safety exit. She frowned and looked at Gao Yang, saying, “Boss, what’s wrong with you?”
Gao Yang waved his hand, exhaled, and said, “Don’t talk for now. I need a moment of silence.”
Eileen said nothing, simply stepped into the elevator with Gao Yang. After leaving the elevator and entering the hotel lobby, Eileen waved her hand, signaling Taylor, who was sitting on the sofa. Taylor immediately stood up and followed the two of them out of the hotel.
Once outside the hotel’s lobby, Gao Yang raised his hand and snapped his fingers. Albert promptly emerged from the shadows across the street and quickly ran toward the three of them.
When Albert had joined them, Gao Yang said softly, “Let’s go, on foot. Take a walk with me.”
They strolled slowly, and after walking a few dozen meters from the hotel, Gao Yang let out a long sigh and said in a low voice, “Today, I’ve suffered a serious mental shock. It’s like my moral bottom line has been forcibly reset. I feel like I was once as pure as an angel. Also, I now have a completely new perspective on what it means to be a swindler.”
After mumbling to himself, Gao Yang suddenly turned his head toward Eileen and said, “Have you ever thought about how our broker, Little Donnie, is a bit too dumb?”
Eileen frowned and replied, “No, not really. Little Donnie’s fine.”
Gao Yang looked up at the sky, clasped his hands together, and said loudly, “Thank heaven! Luckily I encountered Little Donnie. Thank you, dear heavens, for giving us a broker dumb enough for us.”
Eileen, baffled, said, “Boss, what’s wrong with you? You seem a bit off. And how is Little Donnie dumb? He’s handled everything just fine.”
Gao Yang waved his hand and said, “I just told you, my moral bottom line was reset. Besides, Little Donnie really is dumb. But to clarify, this kind of ‘dumb’ refers to honesty. I need to thank heaven for blessing us. And you all should thank God that our broker is a dumb guy like Little Donnie and not someone smart like Krulney.”
Eileen spread her hands and said, “Boss, what happened? What exactly did you talk about with Krulney?”
Gao Yang squinted at Eileen and said in a low voice, “Krulney surrendered. He’s completely defected to us and will do anything for our revenge.”
Seeing the shocked expressions on the three faces around him, Gao Yang waved his hand and said, “No need to doubt it. Krulney is a fence-sitter, and this kind of person is entirely untrustworthy. But Krulney is smart—and he’s a smart guy scared to death—so that makes him willing to work for us.”
Eileen muttered, stunned, “I’m completely confused. What the hell is going on? This feels so bizarre.”
Gao Yang gave a bitter smile and said, “A mercenary’s job is inherently about killing and being killed. But all this scheming, all this mind-warping deception—that’s broker territory. You not understanding is perfectly normal. Alright, now the plan has completely changed. Call everyone and tell them not to come to Holland.”
After speaking, Gao Yang took out his phone and dialed Justin. As soon as Justin picked up, Gao Yang said directly, “Cancel the bounty, or just announce that the bounty is over. This matter ends here. The information provided was useful, so the reward will still be paid. I’ll transfer the money to you right away. Buddy, you need to move fast and get the word out promptly that the bounty is over.”
Justin, intrigued, asked, “Did you find Krulney? Have you taken care of him already?”
“Yes, the problem’s been resolved. So this bounty is over. Buddy, I’m saying it again—you need to hurry and get the message out. We’ll talk again later. I’ve got things I still need to handle. Goodbye.”
After hanging up, Gao Yang immediately called Morgan. When Morgan answered, Gao Yang quickly said, “Morgan, no need to send anyone to Atlanta anymore. Also, Little Donnie doesn’t require protection. He’s fine. He can leave immediately. This matter is resolved, and the situation has completely shifted. F**k, I don’t even know how to explain it. In short, I met Krulney, he surrendered, and I accepted his surrender.”
Morgan, surprised, asked, “Surrender? What’s this about?”
Gao Yang gave a bitter laugh and said, “It’s too long a story. I’ll have Little Donnie meet us soon, bringing all the weapons. But don’t worry about that; Little Donnie can handle it.”
Morgan chuckled and said, “Alright, I understand.”
Gao Yang said sincerely, “Thanks, Morgan. You’ve helped me a lot in this matter.”
“No need for the pleasantries. When you come back to America, see me sometime. I’ve got something to discuss with you, but it’s not urgent. Alright, goodbye.”
After hanging up, Gao Yang turned to the people around him and said, “You heard it. Krulney surrendered, and I chose to accept. Right now, Krulney is no longer our enemy. Although he’s entirely untrustworthy, he’s still useful to us. Moreover, we’re going to work with him to make a ton of money off the Shah people.”
Eileen frowned and said, “Boss, the more you explain, the less I understand.”
Gao Yang smiled bitterly and said, “You’re not the only one confused. Honestly, I don’t fully get it either. Krulney has a plan. It sounds absurd, but I think it’s feasible. The plan is for me and Krulney to meet Ben Suharitan—that Shah Intelligence Agency bigshot—and get him to pay us a massive amount to wipe out the Angel Mercenary Corps.”
Eileen’s eyes widened, and she exclaimed, “You’re joking, right?”
“I told you, it sounds absurd, but it’s true. Tomler had us pretend to be the Angel Mercenary Corps, so now we have to eliminate the Angels. And after we’re paid for annihilating the Angel Mercenary Corps, we also need to assassinate Ben Suharitan, because he’s the one responsible for Bruce’s death. So it’s not just absurd—it’s complicated as hell.”
Eileen clutched her head and looked helpless as she said, “Boss, what in the world is going on? We’re going to take out the Angels? Well, I have confidence in our abilities, but wiping out the entire Angel Mercenary Corps? Leaving no one alive?”
Gao Yang laughed, spread his hands, and said, “You see? I told you this whole thing was complicated. Yes, we’re going to wipe out a mercenary group claiming to be the Angel Mercenary Corps, but not the real Angels. Do you have any mercenary groups you really hate or hold a grudge against? Now’s the time to think about whether there’s a group you’ve been wanting to take out. We’ll handle them, frame it on the Angels, and get paid. Afterward, we’ll assassinate Ben Suharitan. Honestly, I’m considering using a segment of the Iron Madonna group to impersonate the Angels. If Krulney can really pull this off, it’s a triple win for us.”
Eileen covered her face, extended her hand toward Gao Yang, and shouted, “Stop! I’m losing my mind. Don’t say another word to confuse me further until you’ve explained things properly, because I’m seriously about to lose it.”
