Mercenary’s War -
Chapter 1164 - 1164 1147 General's Excellency
1164: Chapter 1147: General’s Excellency 1164: Chapter 1147: General’s Excellency Lebanon, Beirut, Beirut International Airport.
At noon on February 8th, Gao Yang and his group arrived in Beirut by plane.
The plane was arranged by the Syrian Military Intelligence Directorate, and although it was in the guise of a civilian aircraft, it belonged to the Syrian Military Intelligence Directorate.
Lebanon is essentially a vassal state of Syria, and despite some tension in recent years and Syria being preoccupied with civil war, Syria still maintains basic control over Lebanon.
The activities of the Syrian Military Intelligence Directorate in Lebanon are even freer than within Syria itself.
With Dani, the recently powerful Syrian Military Intelligence mogul personally seeing them off, Gao Yang and his group could truly walk sideways in Lebanon.
Arriving in Lebanon with Gao Yang and his group, besides the seeing-off Dani, were those four Russian pilots, but Saidev’s family wasn’t on the plane.
The Russian pilots needed to get to Beirut and would depart on their own, so there was no further issue after bringing them to Beirut.
However, the absence of Saidev’s family was for a reason.
It’s complicated to explain in detail, so to put it simply, Saidev’s wife was unwilling to leave Damascus.
The complexity is a factor, the improving situation in Damascus is another, but the main reason was that Saidev’s wife did not want her departure to bring criticism upon her husband, who had become a hero.
Since Saidev’s wife was unwilling to leave, Gao Yang went to Saidev’s home, met his wife, and after confirming through a call that Saidev had indeed changed his mind, Gao Yang naturally respected Saidev’s choice and did not take his wife and child with him.
The plane sent by Morgan was expected to arrive at around two or three in the afternoon.
With nothing else to do, Gao Yang and his team arrived a bit early and waited at Beirut for their plane to arrive.
The Russians had already left.
Gao Yang and his group stayed on the plane without moving.
At most, they would wait for two or three hours, and nobody was interested in touring the downtown area of Beirut.
It was better to just wait on the plane directly.
All of Gao Yang’s guns were packed away, and the atmosphere in the cabin was hot with excitement about the departure.
Everyone was thrilled.
Beirut is very close to Europe, just a few hours away.
If Rafael, Eileen, and Jansen were to go home, it would definitely be much closer to go directly from Beirut than to first fly to America and then travel from America to Europe.
However, no one was planning on going back early.
They would rather circumnavigate Earth to first visit America.
During the waiting time on the plane, Gao Yang and his group felt like time was passing very slowly, extremely slowly, as if these couple of hours were longer than the past few days combined.
Finally, when they saw the familiar plane landing on the runway, Gao Yang’s heart finally settled down.
Carrying the shotgun given by Assad, and laden with two big bags in each hand, Gao Yang and his group approached the private plane under the escort of several agents from the Military Intelligence Directorate as Morgan’s plane was towed away for refueling and inspection.
Seeing Gao Yang and his group approach, the door of the private plane opened, and Simon, whom they hadn’t seen for a long time, came out from the plane.
The first thing Simon did was to open his arms wide and shout at Gao Yang and the others: “Hey, guys, long time no see.”
Gao Yang put down the big bags he was holding, and embraced Simon tightly, patting each other on the back.
After the two separated, Simon politely nodded to Dani, then bypassed Dani and went to embrace everyone he knew.
Given Dani’s status, he indeed wasn’t suitable for contact with people other than Gao Yang and his group.
So, after waiting for Gao Yang and Simon’s conversation to end, Dani reached out his hand to Gao Yang and said solemnly: “Brother, it’s time to say goodbye.
I wish you a smooth journey, and don’t forget the brothers you’ve met in Syria.
If you get the chance, remember to come back and see these old pals.”
Gao Yang smiled, shook Dani’s hand, then hugged him, and whispered: “Wait a moment, don’t hurry to leave, I still have something for you.”
After releasing Dani, Gao Yang shouted at Simon who was laughing and talking with Glolov: “Hey, buddy, where’s the thing I asked you to bring for me?”
Simon pointed at the plane and shouted: “It’s up there, you’ll see it once you go in.”
Gao Yang immediately went up the airstairs and into the cabin.
As soon as he entered, he saw the person sitting in the forward seat and suddenly exclaimed: “Morgan!
Why did you come yourself?”
Morgan stood up with a smile, spreading his hands: “Buddy, I just couldn’t wait to see you sooner.
If this wasn’t Beirut and you weren’t accompanied by a bunch of Syrian Military Intelligence agents, I would already be beneath the plane, eagerly awaiting your grand arrival.”
Gao Yang retorted with a laugh: “Nonsense, you’re not here early to see me, you just can’t wait to check out your new collection, can you?”
After hugging Morgan and laughing for a moment, Gao Yang took off the small leather gun case from his back, pushed it in front of Morgan, and said with a smile: “This is the treasure you couldn’t wait to see.
Well, take a look and tell me later if you’re disappointed.
Where’s the thing you brought for me?”
Morgan took the gun case from Gao Yang and then swiveled his head, saying, “Here’s what you wanted.”
There was a bag on the seat next to him, and Gao Yang picked up the bag, pulled open the zipper for a look inside, it was a Colt gun box.
“Take your time looking, I’m going to say goodbye to a friend.”
Gao Yang picked up the bag and got off the plane again, only to see Simon embracing everyone in a show of welcome, while Dani was hugging each person to say farewell, one welcoming, one sending off, without interfering with each other, it was quite interesting to watch.
After waiting for Dani to say goodbye to his people one by one, Gao Yang waved to Dani and said with a smile, “Buddy, I’ve got something nice to show you.”
Gao Yang took a gun case out of the bag, opened it, took out the pistol inside, and handed it to Dani, saying with a smile, “Buddy, had this brought over specially for you, as a keepsake.”
Dani loved Gao Yang’s gun, and he was very interested in the 1911 that Americans love.
Gao Yang couldn’t just give away his own sidearm, so he specially purchased what should be the most classic Colt Commander Model 1911 as a gift to Dani and his team.
The gun was still wrapped in a plastic bag, unopened.
Dani took the pistol with surprise and joy, took a look through the plastic bag with a laugh, “Buddy, you’re really thoughtful, thanks, I really love it.”
Gao Yang patted Dani’s arm and said, “Glad you like it.
There are magazines and bullets in this bag, enough for you to have fun for a while.
Besides, you can find any bullets you want, so I don’t have to worry about you running out of ammo.
Also, there are a few more guns in this bag, could you please pass them along to Farouk and Gilanor, and don’t forget to deliver one to Colonel Kuteli.”
Dani nodded, but then immediately asked, “What about the last one?”
Gao Yang shrugged and said, “It’s not appropriate to send a gun to the President, the remaining one goes to Marshal, tell him I’m grateful for his invitation, but I regret that I have urgent matters to attend to and can’t make his banquet, and also, thank him for me.”
Dani’s face bore a wry smile as he said, “Oh, General, you really put me in a tough spot, but alright, what are friends for?
Rest assured, I will convey your thanks and apologies to the General.”
After speaking, Dani became solemn and said, “I will leave here and head back after you take off, so, I bid you farewell now, General, take care!”
While speaking, Dani put the gun back in the bag and then gave Gao Yang a solemn military salute.
Gao Yang also stood at attention and solemnly returned the salute to Dani, saying in a deep voice, “Take care, brother.”
Although both were in civilian clothes, exchanging military salutes didn’t seem strange at all.
After lowering his hand and nodding at Gao Yang, Dani waved to Satan’s men, then picked up the bag, beckoned with his hand, turned his head, and left.
As Dani walked away with his people, and one of his subordinates took the bag to carry it for him, Simon looked puzzled and said, “I didn’t hear wrong just now, did I?
That Syrian called General Ram?
He called you ‘General’?”
Gao Yang shrugged, but Eileen laughed and said, “You heard right, our boss is now a Major General of the Syrian Army, officially, personally honored by President Assad.”
Simon looked at Gao Yang in amazement for a while, then opened his mouth wide and said in a weird tone, “A rank of Major General?
F**k, should I be addressing you as General, Your Excellency?”
Frey laughed and said, “Hey, you have to salute our boss and say, ‘At your command, General, Your Excellency,’ that’s the proper way.”
Simon curled his lip and said, “Save it, I’m not going to salute a Syrian General, but although the Syrian Army might not be good at fighting, it’s not easy to become their General.
Buddy, you’re really something, becoming a General, not bad at all!”
While speaking, Simon playfully punched Gao Yang’s shoulder, then let out a whistle and, with a wave of his hand, said, “Get on the plane, we can talk more in the air, General Your Excellency, please allow me to carry your bag for you.”
Given the relationship between Gao Yang and Simon, of course, they could joke freely.
Gao Yang kept a straight face and said sternly, “Soldier, be careful with that bag in your hand.”
Simon replied very seriously, “General, I’m no soldier, when I was in service, I too was an officer.”
After they both said this with a straight face, they laughed heartily together, then climbed up the plane’s stairs side by side.
Gao Yang thought Morgan had already taken the shotgun out of the gun case, and when he boarded the plane, he should have been excitedly explaining the origins of the shotgun, but to his surprise, Morgan was still scrutinizing the gun case and hadn’t even opened the gun.
Hearing the commotion, Morgan, with his tinted glasses, lifted his head and looking at Gao Yang, said, “You’re up?
What were you laughing about?
Oh well, never mind that, Gao, come over here, you’ve got hold of one hell of a thing there, this gun case is extraordinary!” (To be continued.
