Mercenary’s War
Chapter 114 - 114 113 Farewell

114: Chapter 113 Farewell 114: Chapter 113 Farewell The next day when Gao Yang woke up, his head was splitting with pain.

Enduring the headache, he struggled to get up in search of water to drink, when he heard Yelena beside him saying, “Awake?

Looking for water?

Here, this is for you.”

After guzzling down a bellyful of water, Gao Yang felt a little better.

He looked at Yelena, who was standing by his side, and asked, “Why are you in my room?

What time is it now?”

Yelena said with concern, “It’s already three in the afternoon.

If you can’t handle your liquor, you should drink less.

After you got drunk yesterday, you started dancing and making a scene, and you threw up a lot.

Are you feeling okay now?

I think you should delay your departure by a day.”

With his hand on his head, Gao Yang said with a bitter smile, “This is bad.

Vodka is really not for me.

Not only did I put off my important matters, but I’m probably going to be the laughingstock this time.”

Yelena smiled and said, “It’s okay; you all look the same when you’re drunk.

But you’ve slept the longest.

Now everyone is already waiting for you in the living room.”

Gao Yang smiled sheepishly and asked, “Last night, I didn’t say anything inappropriate or do anything outrageous, did I?”

Yelena shook her head and said, “No, you behaved very well.”

Suppressing his headache, Gao Yang said, “I need to use your computer.

Someone sent me something.”

Yelena nodded and then handed Gao Yang a knife, saying, “A gift for you.

My dad said this knife is good, so I bought one for you.

I was planning to give it to you last night, but you were drunk, so I didn’t.”

Gao Yang took the knife, glanced at it, and said in surprise, “Mad Dog ATAK?

Indeed, where did you get this?

This knife isn’t cheap, but it’s really good.

Thank you, I really like it.”

Yelena said happily, “I’m glad you like it.

There’s an outdoor sports store in Johannesburg that sells them.

I ordered it online and had it delivered.”

Gao Yang truly liked the Mad Dog ATAK.

It was a semi-handmade knife from a famous American bladesmith, and its sharpness, edge retention, and strength were all top-notch.

However, performance comes with a price; the ATAK model sells for over a thousand US dollars.

Gao Yang had long coveted this knife, but he never expected Yelena to be the one to give it to him.

After carefully stowing away the knife, Gao Yang went to Yelena’s room, turned on the computer, and found an email in the inbox.

He opened it to confirm it was sent by Morgan, and after reading it carefully, he pointed to the computer and said to Yelena, “There’s an email here.

Look at it carefully, save it or print it out, and memorize everything it says.

In no more than half a month, someone will call you to go to the American embassy to arrange your visa.

When that time comes, just say what this email instructs you to say to the visa officer.

You and your mother must remember all this, and make sure not to get it wrong.”

Yelena nodded and said, “I know, I will go, but you have to remember your promise.”

After nodding subconsciously, Gao Yang realized that Yelena was referring to what he had said the night before, about going to America to marry her once she graduated.

Gao Yang smiled sheepishly and said, “I keep my word.

But I hear that the Juilliard School is full of eccentric genius-level people, so it looks like you will have to work hard.

Once you’re in America, call Catherine.

She will help you with the arrangements for what comes next.”

Yelena nodded lightly and said, “I will definitely get in.”

Gao Yang felt there was nothing left to say, so he got up to leave, but seeing Yelena’s reluctant face, he too felt a deep sense of reluctance.

He hugged Yelena and gave her a brief kiss on the lips, then smiled and said, “Goodbye, wait for me in America.”

As Gao Yang turned to leave, Yelena, already crying like pouring rain, hugged him from behind and hissed, “Don’t die, don’t get into trouble.

Promise me that you will definitely come back to marry me, you must swear you’ll come find me.”

Gao Yang raised his right hand and exclaimed, “I swear I will live well, wait for the day you graduate, and I will definitely come to America to find you.”

After silently crying on Gao Yang’s back for about a minute, Yelena suddenly let go of Gao Yang.

She spun him around to face her, wiped away her tears, and took his breath with a kiss.

A passionate kiss that had barely ended was met with Yelena suddenly biting down on Gao Yang’s lower lip.

Yelena bit down hard, causing Gao Yang such sharp pain that he almost cried out, but he ultimately held his voice back and let her bite him fiercely.

When Yelena finally released her teeth, she stared at Gao Yang and said word by word, “Think of me, I will be waiting for you in America.

Visit me when you can.

And remember your vow, if you die, I’ll dig up your grave, then detonate a bomb by your corpse so we can be blown to pieces together.

No one will separate us.

If there’s not even a corpse left of you, I swear I’ll become a widow.

Remember my words!”

After saying her piece, Yelena pushed Gao Yang out of her room and closed the door solidly behind him.

Standing at the door, Gao Yang could hear Yelena’s muffled crying.

Gao Yang stared blankly at the door, unsure whether having a girlfriend like Yelena, who dared to love so fiercely, was good or bad.

However, upon careful thought, Gao Yang realized he hadn’t actually confirmed any relationship with Yelena.

Though he had said he would marry her, he hadn’t declared Yelena to be his girlfriend, even though it seemed she was now.

While their relationship was ambiguous and everyone saw them as a couple, they had never formally acknowledged it, at least Gao Yang hadn’t; he hadn’t even once told Yelena that he loved her.

Gao Yang considered knocking on the door, but in the end, he gave up the idea.

He turned and walked despondently toward the living room, where everyone was waiting for him.

Glolov still had a look of helplessness and embarrassment, while Cui Bo and Li Jinfang wore mischievous grins.

As for Frey, he looked at Gao Yang with outright admiration.

Cui Bo coughed, then pointed at his own lower lip.

Gao Yang understood the implication and, touching his lip, found blood on his hand.

After inwardly lamenting Yelena’s fierce bite, Gao Yang coughed and, covering his lip with his hand, said, “Is everyone ready?

If so, let’s make a call and get ready to go.”

Cui Bo laughed and said, “We’ve been ready for a while.

Uriyangko has made four or five calls already; he was just waiting for you.”

Gao Yang nodded and said to Natalia, who was also in the living room, “Have you secured the money?

I remember giving it to you last night.

I have given Yelena the details for your visa processing and the way to contact people after you arrive in America.

Just follow the instructions.”

“The money is secure.

I’ll take good care of Yelena.

Gao, thank you.”

Gao Yang smiled awkwardly and responded, “There’s no need for thanks.

If no one has any questions, then let’s set off.

I need to get some good sleep on the plane; when I wake up tomorrow, we’ll be in Libya.”
