Mercenary’s War
Chapter 1084 - 1084 One Thousand and Sixty-Seven King Versus King

1084: Chapter One Thousand and Sixty-Seven: King Versus King 1084: Chapter One Thousand and Sixty-Seven: King Versus King Jansen put the remote controller on the ground, his hands each gripping a mortar round.

Upon hearing Tommy’s roar, Jansen quickly loaded a round into the muzzle.

One hand passed to the other, and picking up another round nearby with his left hand, he loaded it again swiftly.

Four rounds were fired out in a matter of seconds, and then Tommy and Jansen watched the screen.

The first round went awry, exploding more than twenty meters behind the sprinting crowd.

The second round landed on the edge of the crowd.

The explosion sent three or four people flying to the ground.

People began to lie down, but some continued running.

At this moment, the third round fell, accurately landing amidst the crowd and exploding.

The fourth round hit too far in front, exploding about thirty meters in front of the crowd.

A total of fourteen people, when they started running scattered, still covered a large area.

The power of the 60 mm mortar was insufficient; it wasn’t possible to kill everyone, but Tommy’s four rounds engulfed more than half of the people within the lethal range.

From another perspective, it meant only half of the people were engulfed within the kill zone.

Gao Yang continued to swiftly take aim with his rifle, focusing his attention on the building next to the hornet’s nest.

There weren’t many inside that house, but the bullets fired from there were extremely tricky, each shot lethal.

Gao Yang, highly tense, didn’t hear the explosions anymore; all his focus was on shooting.

The enemy was tenacious.

By Gao Yang’s standards, most of the enemies he encountered here were not up to par.

Most of the enemies had poor gunmanship, which was related to most of them not having night vision devices.

They relied on the muzzle flash when firing to determine where to shoot, making their fire intense but ineffective.

If all the enemies were equipped with night vision devices and could accurately determine the positions of Gao Yang and his team, their overwhelming numbers combined with the tactical advantage of terrain would mean that Gao Yang’s side would now be considering how to retreat, not how to continue the offensive.

The enemy’s night combat ability wasn’t very strong, but they were not afraid to die.

They were fanatic and extreme.

IS soldiers had left a deep impression on Gao Yang in this respect.

The enemy suffered heavy casualties but maintained heavy firepower, which was based on the enemy having a large number of personnel – one fell, another would take their place.

Hence the enemy could consistently maintain strong fire.

If the enemy’s combat will wasn’t strong, seeing their comrades get killed the moment they showed their heads, thus not daring to take over the firing positions of the fallen, Gao Yang would now be able to breach into the building and engage in CQC, instead of being pinned down in the most dangerous open ground.

For Gao Yang and his team, the main threat came from a small number of enemies who were few in number but extremely accurate shooters.

Gao Yang believed they were Mercenaries, like the Iron Wall Mercenary Corps that had caused him heavy casualties before.

Gao Yang had locked onto the position of the enemy’s elite.

He was no longer shooting indiscriminately but instead put the lesser threats aside and focused on the most dangerous enemies.

A figure slightly dodged from behind the door, fired a shot, and someone from the Scimitar Company, who was charging over, fell silently.

Gao Yang also fired a shot, leaving the shooter at the window before they could duck back into cover.

The enemy hadn’t realized they were being targeted.

Another person popped out and was about to raise their gun when Gao Yang shot them right in the forehead.

Shooting the enemy in the forehead was Gao’s subconscious choice, and also a reluctant one.

The enemy wouldn’t expose much of their body, so the only place he could shoot was above the neck.

After two consecutive shots, the enemy realized they had been targeted; someone was specifically sniping them.

After two consecutive shots, Gao Yang knew he had been exposed.

Unless there were no others around the two he had just killed, the enemy would certainly launch a targeted counterattack, so his position was no longer safe.

Gao Yang lay on the ground, quickly moving sideways while pondering whether to use a rocket, a Skunk Bomb, or both to deal with those clearly different enemies.

The combat Gao Yang was engaged in was high-level, not something the average person could participate in.

So even during the most intense battle, he still had to move.

He didn’t know what countermeasures the enemy had, but the enemy surely intended to kill him at all costs.

Hence, the enemy’s counterattack would be fierce.

Everyone from Satan knew to stay away from wherever Gao Yang had been, not even to get close, because Gao Yang could really attract hatred.

An excellent sniper can bring devastating psychological and morale damage to the enemy.

So what treatment would a Gun God who never misses receive?

Needless to say, wherever Gao Yang has been would certainly attract the most powerful firepower from the enemy, using everything they had.

Unfortunately, some did not understand Gao Yang’s ability nor his capability to attract hatred.

Members of the special forces squad thought Gao Yang’s previous position was good, with decent cover and firing angles.

So, another Marksman crawled over rapidly, but just as he was about to rise and his eyes were exposed, a bullet struck him in the forehead.

Being shot in the forehead was not the end; three Rifle Grenades exploded near the soldier who had taken his place in death.

Gao Yang fired three shots.

Except for a sniper shooting downward from the second floor who was out of reach, Gao Yang killed all three enemies firing rifle grenades.

The enemy fired, and so did he.

There’s a formidable sniper on the second floor.

Gao Yang now had an idea.

Gao Yang called for assistance.

A Rocket Launcher, Skunk Bombs, anything would do to take out that sniper hiding on the second floor first.

The threat was too great to leave be.

“Two hits!

The Bee King is down!

The Bee King is down!”

Gao Yang had yet to speak when he heard Jansen’s voice bellow with all his might.

Gao Yang was stunned for a moment, with only one thought in his head.

Did Tommy make it?

It’s so difficult, but did he still succeed?

Many began to cheer, with someone shouting loudly in Arabic.

Gao Yang didn’t join in the cheers; he quickly tossed all extraneous thoughts out of his mind.

Now was not the time to worry about Badadi’s fate; addressing the current emergency was the priority.

More people joined in the roaring, and the effect was clear; the enemies firing desperately from the buildings suddenly decreased in intensity.

The distance was still quite far, and the sound of gunfire was a continuous rumble; it was unlikely that the enemy could hear the shouts from this side.

There was only one possibility—they had received the same news or seen Badadi fall, which meant that Jansen’s observation was indeed accurate.

The enemy was in disarray, Badadi being hit by artillery threw them into chaos, this was an opportunity.

Not only did Gao Yang have experience, but many on the battlefield were also extremely experienced in combat.

“Charge!”

Ludwig roared and, with his heavily reduced troops, rushed forward.

Farouk was simply not skilled at commanding special operations, but his grasp of timing was not off.

“Follow me!”

Farouk shouted and climbed up from the ground, but there were only six left who charged with him.

Close-quarters combat tested individual capabilities and team cooperation even more, and the Special Forces had trained for many days on indoor combat.

Storming buildings and engaging in close-quarter battles were more advantageous than shooting at the enemy from outside.

The enemy’s fire was growing sporadic.

With their highest leader killed, any force would be thrown into great turmoil, and for an organization like IS, especially for a leader with absolute authority like Badadi, the impact would be even greater.

Before the enemy could recover, transforming their panic into a fury for avenging Badadi, the situation must be seized.

“Everyone charge!”

Gao Yang issued the command, but by this time nearly everyone had already sprung into action.

At this moment, Gao Yang suddenly heard Andy He’s roar in his earpiece.

“Enemy reinforcements from behind!

A large enemy force!”

Along with the roar was the sound of intense gunfire.

Andy He was left behind to rescue the wounded along with five paramedics, but no other combatants remained, as all able-bodied personnel had already been deployed in the assault.

“We’ll hold the enemies at the rear, we can withstand them!”

The voice belonged to Tommy, who, along with Jansen, had stayed behind.

Now the two of them could join Andy He in holding off the enemy from behind.

With only three people to hold off the reinforcements, Gao Yang did not stop; jogging all the while and holding his gun, occasionally pausing during his run to take a shot.

There was no other choice but to quickly overthrow the enemies in front and then go to support Andy He and the three of them.

As Gao Yang jogged, he saw an enemy appear on the second floor with a gun, firing at the charging soldiers.

Gao Yang quickly returned fire, but the enemy moved swiftly, and as he was jogging, his shot didn’t take down the enemy.

Either stop and concentrate on shooting or speed up the charge.

Gao Yang chose to accelerate; he had no desire to continue playing a game of cat and mouse with the enemy, as time was of the essence.

Gao Yang was now very close to the building and extended his left arm toward the structure he was about to attack, while at the same time he said in a deep voice, “Satan!”

The enemy was elite; Gao Yang was now gathering Satan’s assault team.

He needed to muster his most elite forces for a head-on clash with the enemy.

This was king against king.

Gao Yang had not brought his shotgun, and as he approached the entrance, he slung his rifle behind his back and pulled out his pistols with both hands.

1911 in his right hand, Smith & Wesson M686 in his left—nowadays, Gao Yang liked to refer to his pistols as Ram’s Horn; just as people have nicknames, so do guns.

Gao Yang was about to burst through the gate, but at that moment, he heard Jansen’s voice again.

“Badadi is up, he’s not dead, he’s injured, but he got up, four people, one’s down again, three left, I see it clearly, it’s Badadi, he’s hurt, but he’s about to meet up with reinforcements, F**k!

F**k…”

Jansen’s voice was filled with endless regret and disappointment, and of course, urgency, but Gao Yang was not in a hurry.

He didn’t have time to be happy when he got good news, and he couldn’t afford to feel loss when bad news came; this was the critical moment of king against king.

Gao Yang was about to go in, about to have a decisive battle with an unknown but certainly formidable enemy at the entrance.
