Mercenary’s War
Chapter 1038 - 1038 One Thousand Twenty-Two Gao Shou Gao Shou Gao Gao Shou

1038: Chapter One Thousand Twenty-Two: Gao Shou Gao Shou Gao Gao Shou 1038: Chapter One Thousand Twenty-Two: Gao Shou Gao Shou Gao Gao Shou Without waiting for Gao Yang’s instruction, Li Jinfang conscientiously moved to the front.

Would Gao Yang personally make a move?

Of course not.

Gao Yang wasn’t foolish; he knew he was challenging someone from Signal Flag, and it was pretty clear this person was a master fighter.

KGB controlled two powerful military units: Alpha, which was in charge of operations within Russia, and Signal Flag, responsible for international missions.

Most of Signal Flag’s members were selected from Alpha, which meant that Alpha, an incredible resource, was considered to be slightly more formidable than Signal Flag, though this had yet to be proven.

For Gao Yang, ever since that incident in the New York elevator, where Dusselyev from the KGB nearly strangled him, he had been much less keen on sparring with experts linked to the KGB.

Whether KGB or Signal Flag, not everyone was a combat specialist, but now that he was sure there was an expert, it was better to let Li Jinfang handle the situation.

Li Jinfang took a step forward, and Gao Yang, tilting his head, said to Li Jinfang, “Handle him, you know what to do, right?”

Li Jinfang nodded and replied, “Understood.”

Gao Yang stepped back a few paces, then Li Jinfang silently began sparring with the Russian instructor.

Gao Yang didn’t watch Li Jinfang’s fight; he was contemplating his next moves.

By engaging the Russian with words, Gao Yang felt a guilty pleasure in his successful scheme; truth be told, he was indeed worried that these Russians might make some aggressive demands.

Trouble usually signifies the start of more troubles to come.

Being able to corner these Russians with words and contain this problem within manageable limits was ideal.

Otherwise, an escalation could set off a chain reaction beyond control.

Who could Syria rely on now?

Certainly, it had to be Russia.

If these instructors insisted that Gao Yang and his men leave, they would indeed have to do just that.

While his team could bring some urgently needed victories to Syria, it was Russia that was fundamentally sustaining the Syrian government until now.

Without Russia’s unequivocal backing, Syria’s fate didn’t even need discussing; Libya had already set a clear precedent.

Thus, given Russia’s importance to Syria, Gao Yang had no doubt that if they had an irreconcilable fallout with the Russian instructors, they would be the ones who had to leave, and it might even be questionable if they could leave unharmed.

One mustn’t be spineless; it was necessary to fight back when provoked, but it was also essential to know one’s own strength.

It wouldn’t be good to start thinking one was invincible just because of a few victories.

Competent people are usually proud.

Winning and then crying over losses to claw back some dignity—Gao Yang didn’t think the people from Signal Flag would stoop so low, and that confident-looking instructor likely wouldn’t be so shameless.

Thus, Gao Yang was quite satisfied for the time being.

His man had been hit; retaliating was a given.

Teaching the opponent a lesson felt good, and it forced them into a position where they couldn’t complain without losing face.

This outcome was quite favorable.

Gao Yang’s thoughts were based on his absolute trust in Li Jinfang, but as his mind quickly toggled through these thoughts, rejoicing in having verbally cornered the opponent, he was suddenly shocked to realize that ten seconds had passed and the Russian instructor had not yet fallen.

Gao Yang shifted his focus back to Li Jinfang and the instructor, only to notice both individuals looking very solemn.

He observed that Satan’s men looked utterly composed, clearly unworried about Li Jinfang.

Even the four Russians appeared calm, showing no sign of concern.

Gao Yang immediately understood that the Russian shared the same perspective as him; both had absolute confidence, except the Russian in himself and Gao Yang in Li Jinfang.

This fight couldn’t be lost; it wasn’t just a matter of pride.

Whoever lost this fight would have to make concessions.

After knowing Li Jinfang for a long time, Gao Yang finally felt a trace of nervousness for him.

It was truly just a trace, as Gao Yang still believed that Li Jinfang would surely win.

However, Gao Yang found for the first time that his confidence was being challenged.

Li Jinfang and the Russian circled each other.

Initially, Gao Yang hadn’t paid attention to their movements, so he didn’t know the outcome of their first engagement, leaving him clueless about what had transpired between them.

Finally, Li Jinfang made his move again.

This time he did so silently, releasing a kick that the Russian instructor dodged with a swift sidestep and leg raise.

Li Jinfang then let out a low roar and threw a punch at the Russian.

Practical martial arts, unlike performative routines, normally resolve the fight instantly through face-to-face combat.

Using his punches and kicks, Li Jinfang had indeed been unbeatable across the world, and Gao Yang had never seen him falter against anyone before.

But this time, Gao Yang did indeed see Li Jinfang falter.

Li Jinfang was fast, and the Russian was not slow either.

He leaned backward and stretched out both hands to catch Li Jinfang’s wrists.

Gao Yang’s mind sparked with a thought at the lightning-fast movements.

The Russian was skilled in joint techniques, evident from how Wild Man’s arms were dislocated.

Gao Yang almost yelled in shock, but by the time his mind reacted, the two men appeared entirely different before his eyes.

Li Jinfang’s right hand was controlled, a first for him, but he did not panic.

Instead, he sidestepped and thrust up with his left fist, which was as fast and forceful as his right, forcing the Russian to let go and abandon the attempt to twist Li Jinfang’s arm.

Li Jinfang’s right fist came into play again, though its power and speed had greatly decreased, but the Russian gave up on controlling the right fist again and instead stepped back, dodging Li Jinfang’s real lethal move, a left punch.

The Russian bent down and then stretched out both legs to entwine Li Jinfang’s ankles.

It was uncertain whether by coincidence or intention, Li Jinfang’s right foot swiftly tapped the Russian’s foot and he leaped backward.

The Russian quickly stood up, and Li Jinfang took a few steps back to regain his stance.

Gao Yang watched with cold sweats dripping, realizing they were facing true masters, masters among masters.

Gao Yang was just relieved that he hadn’t foolishly attempted to use his Groin Kick, which would have been utterly humiliating against this Russian.

As Jinfang often said about combat, once you truly master it and enter the realm of the elite, dealing with what common folks or even seasoned military fighters consider masters would take just a moment.

Before, Li Jinfang could roam unchecked because he hadn’t met a Fighter, but now, he had, and according to him—out of humility or honesty—it meant he was now approaching a Fighter’s threshold.

Amazing, those familiar with the circumstances knew what was happening: when a worthy opponent is met, it’s a true clash of titans.

Gao Yang’s heart raced, and the four Russian instructors no longer looked indifferent.

After circling each other, Li Jinfang suddenly attacked again, his aggressive nature driving him to relentless assaults.

Li Jinfang changed tactics, opting for close-quarters combat, aligning with his opponent’s intent.

Without probing, Li Jinfang punched, the Russian grabbed his wrist, but instead of swinging, Li Jinfang also grabbed the Russian’s wrist, and their movements diverged yet converged.

Li Jinfang pressed his palm toward the Russian’s shoulder, while the Russian landed a punch on Li Jinfang’s upper arm.

“Crack, snap.”

The shoulders of both men sounded in sequence, Li Jinfang’s first, then the Russian’s.

Gao Yang couldn’t act; their movements were too swift.

By the time he instinctively stepped forward, Li Jinfang and his counterpart had already let go, simultaneously retreating a step back.

Li Jinfang grimaced, clenched his teeth, and using his left hand, he adjusted and twisted his limp right arm upward, generating a faint clicking sound.

The Russian’s eyes widened.

He stretched out his left hand and bent over, staring intensely at Li Jinfang.

However, his right arm hung helplessly, unable to self-realign his dislocated joint like Li Jinfang did.

Li Jinfang quivered his arms and lunged again.

As the Russian deflected with his left hand and looked to kick, Li Jinfang struck fiercely with his left hand, brushing away the Russian’s foot, stretching his right hand forward to grip the Russian’s retreating left hand and pulling him inward.

Li Jinfang met the Russian’s left shoulder with his left hand, then another snap resounded, followed by Li Jinfang releasing his right hand to punch the Russian in the nose.

The Russian’s head tilted, and as blood streamed from his nose, he fell backward to the ground.

The remaining four Russians were stunned, then instinctively aimed their guns.

Gao Yang might hesitate in a fight, but he feared no one when it came to guns.

Significantly, with Glolov and his machine gun nearby, silent yet intimidating, his presence was enough to deter action.

“Hold your fire!”

The four Russians instinctively raised their guns but were stopped by a shout from the fallen man.

They immediately lowered their weapons and two went to help him up.

The Russian on the ground shouted and tried to rise, but unable to balance without his arm, fell back down.

After sitting up, he motioned for those helping him to step back before he strenuously stood up on his own.

The Russian had dislocated Wild Man’s arms, and Li Jinfang did the same to him.

The Russian had made Alcohol’s nose bleed, and Li Jinfang gave him a nosebleed too.

Moreover, Li Jinfang had ultimately shown restraint; otherwise, that final punch could have easily killed the Russian, something the Russian clearly understood.
