Mercenary’s War -
Chapter 1004 - 1004 989 This is Called Taking Everything in One Sweep
1004: Chapter 989: This is Called Taking Everything in One Sweep 1004: Chapter 989: This is Called Taking Everything in One Sweep Gao Yang returned to the interrogation room, but his conversation with everyone had wasted some time, and by the time he entered, the interrogation had already ended.
Seeing Gao Yang, Dani was visibly thrilled, looking as if he was about to explode with excitement.
“Do you know who you’ve caught?
Do you realize who you’ve taken down?
You’ve achieved a great feat, F**k, I am a bit too thrilled, Ram, I don’t know what to say!
You’ve achieved a great feat!
We’ve achieved a great feat!”
Dani repeated a few sentences over and over in his excitement, while Gao Yang looked at Number Thirteen with a questioning gaze, then Number Thirteen calmly said, “The place you broke into was the IS command center in Damascus, and the one you brought back, the one who wet his pants, is the IS military commander in Damascus, the highest commander.”
Dani whispered excitedly, “You took down a command center!
It was the Rebel Army’s joint command center in Damascus!
A command center made up of four factions!
They were about to launch an attack tomorrow, but their command center was taken out by you, not a single one escaped, ha ha!”
Number Thirteen spoke again in a low voice, “Unfortunately, what was taken out was a combined Rebel Army command center, the highest positioned person of IS in Damascus was caught by you, but Badadi won’t be in that command center because it’s a joint operation, Badadi won’t show up, he only appears during IS’s separate or major operations.”
Gao Yang sighed, “Is that confirmed?”
Number Thirteen nodded, “It’s basically confirmed, but we haven’t interrogated Abach yet, maybe after questioning him, we might get more information.”
Dani, with an excited look, said, “The man you captured is called Abach, we know this person, we have been looking for him, but we didn’t expect, this guy is our big enemy, almost all military operations of IS in Damascus were planned and commanded by him, I didn’t expect that on your first sortie you’d achieve such a great military success, fantastic!”
The military achievement was spectacular, a successful decapitation strike, but Gao Yang felt somewhat listless, as his only goal now was to take down Badadi.
Gao Yang waved his hand, “Has Abach been interrogated?”
Number Thirteen shook his head, “Not yet, it’s the one you caught, he has the highest position, we are saving him to be interrogated last.
But we obviously have already got a lot of information, which will be very helpful to get Abach talking.”
Gao Yang nodded, then Dani spoke again, his excitement uncontained, “We’ve achieved a great feat, the Rebel Army wanted to change their situation in Damascus, so they planned a major operation, you know, there will be a large-scale attack tomorrow, four organizations acting together, a scale of more than five thousand people.
There hasn’t been an attack of this scale in Damascus before, they are all set, they were going to officially launch the attack tomorrow at nine in the morning, but before they could start, you wiped out their command center, the entire command system was completely destroyed, because they were in a pre-battle meeting, and you caught them right then.”
Dani chattered nonstop because for him, this achievement was really significant, so big it was boundless, the whole Military Intelligence Bureau was going to ride the coattails of this decapitation strike.
Everybody wins, not just the Military Intelligence Bureau is happy, the Army is the happiest of all, Farouk is busy sorting out the video footage he took, if he were here, he’d probably be jumping with joy by now.
Gao Yang snapped his fingers, smiling, “Good, then let’s continue the interrogation, see if we can get more out of Abach’s mouth.”
An excited Dani grabbed Gao Yang’s sleeve, his face tense, “Ram, your people interrogate fast, but it might break the man.
Can we keep Abach for a bit longer?
I mean, we can interrogate him, but let him be available for us to interrogate again, you know, we need him to talk, and I’ve already sent back a report, um, someone might come here soon to see for themselves, so we need to keep Abach.”
Gao Yang thought for a moment, “The big shots?”
Dani lowered his voice, “Of course, the big shots.
With such a major victory, I wouldn’t be surprised no matter who comes.”
Gao Yang hesitated, then said, “Actually, I’d prefer to crack Abach as soon as possible to ask about Badadi’s whereabouts.
Alright, since that Badadi already wet his pants, he shouldn’t be too hard to break.
We can spare him so you can interrogate him again, in front of the big shots, it’ll be good for us too.”
Dani patted Gao Yang’s shoulder, showing a knowing smile.
Gao Yang thought for a while, then said, “Is there any chance we could sort out some financial issues using this opportunity?
You know, I’ve personally invested a lot in our fight and am a bit tight on funds, and how about getting us a few more helicopters too?”
Dani whispered, “My friend, money’s tough, we’re all short on funds right now, but hey, with this physiological backing, getting equipment is just a matter of saying the word!
I’ll file a report with Farouk, resources must start flowing our way.”
This wasn’t a conspiracy, it was an overt plan, an inevitable attention and support from the Syrian side that would come with the results achieved, so Dani could speak frankly with Gao Yang.
No money, but more support was forthcoming, contented with that, Gao Yang looked up at Shadow, “You heard that, any problems?”
Number Thirteen whispered, “I can handle it, let him retain enough spirit and strength to face the next interrogation.”
Shadow spread his hands, picked up a towel and wiped the blood from his hands.
When he found it wouldn’t come off, he said nonchalantly, “Give me a smoke.”
Dani immediately took out a cigarette, placed it in Shadow’s mouth—whose hands were too dirty to touch it—then lit it for him.
After taking a couple of puffs, Shadow, with a smile on his face, raised his bloodied hand and wagged his index finger, “Leonard, don’t fight me for the job.
I haven’t enjoyed this for a long time, don’t doubt my abilities.
It just takes a bit longer, but bring him over, your requirements will be absolutely met.”
Abach was brought in by Frey and Li Jinfang.
They threw Abach onto the ground, and Shadow stepped on his hand; after extinguishing the cigarette on Abach’s hand, Shadow said with a smile, “Are you afraid?
Do I look like a psychopath?
Let me tell you, you are right to think so because I am one.
I will torture you slowly, bit by bit, slowly…
slowly stretching out your agony, letting you know what real hell is.”
Abach spoke in Arabic, so Shadow also spoke in Arabic.
Gao Yang realized that anyone with a bit of connection to intelligence work seemed to know several foreign languages.
Shadow spoke, and Number Thirteen translated.
Now, Gao was able to understand Arabic, but at best he could guess and understand half of it.
He was already learning, and progression wasn’t bad, after all, there was a language environment for it in Syria.
Abach seemed tough, saying weakly but resolutely, “You can kill me, but I will not speak.”
Shadow chuckled and said, “Kill you?
Idiot!
If I wanted to kill you, why bring you here?
Don’t worry, you won’t die.
You won’t die for a considerable amount of time.
Don’t rush to speak; I haven’t even started questioning you yet.
Let’s start with something stimulating.”
Shadow placed Abach firmly in a chair and gagged him with cloth, then began.
Because of the pain, Abach strained against his bindings, but as Shadow had said, Abach had no chance to speak.
Abach wouldn’t be in any life-threatening danger, nor would he have any particularly visible scars.
Shadow was slow and careful with his moves, targeting the most painful areas.
Within minutes, Abach had wet his pants again.
Shadow stopped his work, sighing, “Maybe it’s time to ask.”
He removed the towel from Abach’s mouth, and before Shadow could speak, Abach gasped for breath and said rapidly, “Whatever you want to know, I’ll tell you.
Just don’t torture me anymore, please…
don’t torture me…”
Number Thirteen remained expressionless, while Shadow said with disdain, “Only ten minutes and you’re already talking?
Don’t rush; this was just to give you a breather.
We’re not in a hurry, not at all.”
Abach, with an expression of angry pain, said, “Damn you, you damn devils, let me tell you everything, in exchange, give me a quick end.”
Shadow squatted down in front of Abach and said seriously, “Hey, Abach, I know your name.
You’re not surprised, are you?
You must have realized by now that your partners have told me everything.
So, you know?
I have countless ways to make you talk, and right now, it’s just the appetizer.
You have a chance now; I ask, you answer truthfully.
You should know, we already have confessions from two people.
If I find any discrepancies, you know the consequences.”
Shadow nodded his head, and Gao said, “Ask him, where is Badadi.”
Without hesitation, Abach replied, “He’s in Damascus, but he has many places to stay.
He never remains in the same place too long.
We can only meet by phone, then decide where.
I go to meet him or wait for him to come to me.”
Gao raised an eyebrow and said, “Where and when was the last time you saw him?”
“Yesterday afternoon, at my command center in Adara, but he just looked around and left quickly.
I don’t know where he went next.”
Having learned something new, Gao exhaled and said, “Make him write down all of Badadi’s locations, in great detail.”
After saying this, Gao felt something was wrong, and he turned to Shadow, “How can you be sure he’s telling the truth and not just lying to avoid torture?”
Shadow and Number Thirteen both chuckled, then Shadow said, “This is just the beginning.
Take down his confession, interrogate him again, make him spill everything he knows on the verge of breakdown, then verify the information, then interrogate again, and record again.
Let me put it this way, we’ll tirelessly repeat this process at least four to five times, at a minimum.”
Number Thirteen continued, “Without counter-interrogation training, even if he prepared a hundred false answers, he’ll eventually have to tell the truth.
Does this guy look like he’s been trained to resist interrogation?”
Gao understood what it meant to wish for death but be unable to die, so he smiled and said, “Good, then continue.”
