Medusa in the Trash Heap -
Chapter 20 - Fusion of the Dragon Pearl
Chapter 20: Fusion of the Dragon Pearl
A majestic dragon radiated a powerful draconic aura.
Its black scales shimmered brilliantly, dazzling the eyes.
The dragon’s massive body suggested it had existed for a very long time.
At its chest was impaled a golden spear over ten meters long.
“This creature… in its world, it must have been at the very top of the food chain.”
“Who could have possibly slain it with a single blow?”
“To wield such a long spear… could it have been a giant of some kind?”
Chen Fan was a bit curious.
“A dragon?”
Seeing the dragon’s corpse, Ba Xia was slightly surprised.
In that world, she had dealt with many apex predators.
“An ancient dragon!!”
Cui Beixi was even more shocked, her disbelief plain to see.
A dragon of this size was unquestionably an ancient dragon.
If it were still alive—if she could form a contract with it—she would become the strongest Dragon Priestess.
“Help me sense whether it still has any life in it.”
Chen Fan asked Medusa.
If this dragon still had life in it, Chen Fan wouldn’t mind claiming a dragon mount.
But if not, then never mind.
Reviving a dead dragon—how many points would that cost?
It didn’t seem worth it.
“There’s nothing left…”
Medusa shook her head.
Ba Xia also nodded in agreement with Medusa.
“As expected…”
Chen Fan had already confirmed this, as the system had notified him earlier.
“Help me pull out that spear.”
After thinking for a moment, Chen Fan said softly.
“Got it!”
Medusa leapt up, gripped the spear, and with a gentle pull, the over-ten-meter-long spear was extracted. Dragon blood gushed out.
BOOM!
When the spear was laid on the ground, it let out a thunderous clang.
“System, how’s this spear? What’s it worth?”
Chen Fan asked.
“The materials are decent, but the craftsmanship is rough and crude.”
“If recycled, it would be worth about five thousand points.”
The system provided its evaluation.
“Then recycle it.”
After a brief thought, Chen Fan chose to let the system recycle it.
First, the spear was too long and too thick—it seemed like a weapon made for a giant.
Neither he, Queen Medusa, Cui Beixi, nor Ba Xia could use it.
Even if it were auctioned off, others likely wouldn’t be able to use it either, which would drastically lower its value.
At best, it might fetch just above its material worth—better to let the system recycle it directly.
[Ding! Congratulations, the host has received five thousand points.]
The system’s notification sounded, and the spear in his hand vanished instantly.
To Medusa and the others, it probably looked like Chen Fan had stored the spear in his storage ring.
“Next… It’s time for the dragon pearl…”
Looking at the still-bleeding dragon, Chen Fan’s eyes gleamed slightly with excitement.
“Cui Beixi, where is a dragon’s pearl usually located?”
Chen Fan asked.
“Usually near the heart.”
Cui Beixi was relatively knowledgeable when it came to dragons.
“Got it…”
With the target confirmed, Chen Fan took out a short blade and lightly cut along the dragon’s wound. The dragon’s formidable defenses were sliced open with ease.
Not even the dragon’s scales could block the edge of the short blade.
Soon, a gaping wound appeared, large enough for Chen Fan to insert his entire arm.
After fumbling around for a while, Chen Fan finally pulled out a pearl the size of a fist.
It was the dragon pearl—radiating pure magical power, with what seemed like vast and turbulent magical energy flowing inside it.
The dragon pearl emitted a faint glow.
“You’re the one!”
Chen Fan’s eyes shimmered with fervor.
He was very curious—after fusing it with magic cores, what kind of treasure would it create?
If it worked, he wouldn’t mind using his secondary dantian to cultivate magic.
Low-tier world magic might not be very strong, but high-tier magical worlds had formidable spells—especially divine beings, who could even grasp the laws through magic.
“Let’s go. We’ll head back first.”
As night fell, Chen Fan stored the dragon’s corpse and walked back to his house.
Tomorrow, he would take the dragon corpse to the auction house and list it for sale—convert it into cash first.
With money, Chen Fan could finally buy a big house.
His junkyard had only just been established a day ago, and already three people had joined him—four, if the mermaid was counted.
There weren’t enough rooms in the house anymore.
By then, the villa had to be the largest available.
Better yet, he should go straight for a luxurious palace.
Without preparing in advance, at this pace, he’d probably have to relocate again soon.
After all, his system could repair things.
If he encountered a powerful being that could be restored, Chen Fan wouldn’t want to let it go.
Besides, the benefits of restoration were immense.
Take Medusa and Ba Xia for example—having two powerhouses by his side instantly gave Chen Fan a strong sense of security.
Once home, Chen Fan let Ba Xia explore freely, while he went to the room where the immortal corpse was stored.
He took out the five magic cores he had previously set aside and placed them together.
“System, fuse the magic cores and the dragon pearl for me.”
Chen Fan called out to the system immediately.
[Ding! Magic cores and dragon pearl detected!]
[The quality is relatively low, but fusion is still possible!]
[However, fusing them at the highest level requires ten thousand points; the lowest level, one thousand points.]
[Host, which fusion level do you choose?]
The system asked.
“What can the highest level fusion produce?”
Chen Fan asked.
“Unknown. But the highest level fusion results in a perfect fusion.”
The system replied.
“Then let’s go with the highest level!”
After a moment’s thought, Chen Fan made his choice.
Still, he sighed inwardly—points really didn’t last long.
Just like that, he only had five thousand points left again.
