Chapter 404: Chapter 404: The Shapeshifting Ancestor
"I refuse to believe I can’t kill you!"
Master Mu roared, his palm slapping the ground as his body shot up, seizing the dropped Mage Sword from the ground and again slashing towards Liao Qianqian.
Liao Qianqian knew for certain that Master Mu couldn’t injure her now, and with a snort of cold laughter, she said, "Fine, I’d like to see just how you plan to kill me!"
Liao Qianqian’s aura surged, and instead of retreating as Master Mu charged, she advanced to meet him head-on, grabbing the Mage Sword in his hand.
Although the blade had been sharp, now that it was firmly grasped by Liao Qianqian, it was as ineffective as a wooden sword, utterly incapable of harming her in the slightest.
Her face darkened, her palm exerted force, and with a snap—
the Mage Sword in Master Mu’s hand immediately broke into three pieces.
Master Mu’s eyes widened in terror.
Before he could react, Liao Qianqian’s hand reached out, grabbed his arms, lifted him over her head, and then fiercely hurled him away.
Master Mu’s body flew like a somewhat heavy stone, soaring in a beautiful arc and crashing heavily into the artificial lake nearby, splashing up a huge spray of water.
Master Mu couldn’t comprehend what had just happened, and he gulped down several mouthfuls of water.
Seeing him struggling in the water, Fu’er immediately flew over, pulled Master Mu out, and threw him onto the ground.
The moment Master Mu hit the ground, he spat out a large mouthful of blood.
Already past the age of fifty, his body practically fell apart from the ordeal, and his life was nearly halved.
Liao Qianqian glared at him, fury in her eyes, showing no inkling of mercy.
Liao Qianqian’s face darkened, her eyes turned blood-red, and her hair billowed as if in an unfelt wind, rushing straight towards Master Mu as her fingernails shot out swiftly.
In the blink of an eye, her nails turned into ten sharp blades. Her hands formed claws, and the ten blades simultaneously stabbed towards Master Mu’s chest.
Master Mu’s face turned deathly pale.
He knew that if Liao Qianqian’s strike landed, his life would truly be forfeit!
With this thought, Master Mu’s gaze darkened, and he suddenly reached for his waist.
His palm flipped, and a flash of white light suddenly streaked towards Liao Qianqian.
The crowd couldn’t make out what it was but felt an immense burst of Spiritual Energy.
Jiangli, engrossed in the scene, suddenly changed expression.
Xia Xin caught a glimpse of a dark shadow flying out.
Upon closer inspection, wasn’t it the ancestor?
Jiangli moved like lightning, flying out, snatching the object before it could hit Liao Qianqian, and at the same time, pushed her aside.
Fu’er stepped forward and caught Liao Qianqian.
Jiangli then gracefully landed, appearing in front of Master Mu.
Seeing the person who had appeared out of nowhere, Master Mu was momentarily stunned.
Jiangli looked down at the item in her hand, which wasn’t an ordinary weapon or Talisman Paper but a piece of iron talisman with layers of Dragon Scales, quite similar to the dagger Jiangli had previously revealed.
She took out her own dagger, compared it with the iron talisman, her expression turned slightly grim, and looking up at Master Mu, she demanded coldly, "Where did you get this?"
"Who...who are you, and how could you catch my Five Thunder Talisman—" Master Mu looked at her, his eyes filled with wariness, asking a question in response instead of answering.
This object was an ancestral artifact, the Five Thunder Talisman, different from the usual Talisman painted on paper. It was carved with a special technique onto a uniquely materialized iron block.
This method would amplify the effect of the Five Thunder Talisman.
