Mated To The Cruel Prince
Chapter 83: Stuck With Him

Chapter 83: Stuck With Him

Within the few seconds Islinda stood outside the door, she took a deep breath and mentally braced herself for what was about to happen.

Hence, as soon as the doors were opened, Islinda stepped in and was about to flip out only to do a double take when she spotted Aldric.

Holy gods, he was handsome.

Islinda watched him with her jaw almost dropping to the ground because, by the gods, the Fae cleaned up really well. In the human realm, Aldric would have passed for a bandit with his unruly blackish-blue hair, but right now, he almost looked like a.... Prince?

Aldric was wearing black well cut pants and a white silk blouse beneath a long scarlet jacket trimmed around the edges and buttoned with silver. Black boots reached to his knees with buckles to match and his hair was pulled into a low bun, a few tendrils framing his slender face.

He had kohl around his eyes and while Islinda would have argued it looked ridiculous on men, Aldric was breathtaking. He stood up to his feet upon her appearance and the gilt metal covering the tip of his pointed ears caught her attention.

Aldric was heartbreakingly handsome until the corner of his lips curled and the illusion shattered.

What had she been thinking, admiring the Fae who ruined her life? Islinda had to force herself to remember why she hated him. She could not have any pity for him. Aldric was a monster.

"You look beautiful," He said, taking in her appearance in a way that surprisingly didn’t make goosebumps break out on her skin. Islinda frowned, she thought he would ogle her but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

"You look different," Islinda answered.

There was a gleam in Aldric’s eyes and he almost believed it was a compliment until she added at the last minute, "For a moment there, I almost forgot you were a monster."

Islinda was delighted inwardly and expected Aldric would be offended by her insult, but he smirked instead,

"Shouldn’t you be concerned that you’re beginning to forget already, little human?"

Islinda turned away embarrassed, her face flushing red as she understood the meaning behind his words. She clenched her fists, there was no forgetting what he was. He would always remain a monster to her.

"I hate you."

"There’s only a thin line between love and hate." He winked at her and the redness on her face increased to the point it looked like she was about to explode.

"Y-you.... " Islinda choked, glaring at him.

"You should sit before the food goes cold." Aldric gestured to the table and that was when Islinda realized that dinner had been served.

But Islinda scrunched her face at the sight of the food because while most of it was a cornucopia of sweetened foods, the others were unrecognizable and nothing like the filling food she had in the human realm.

Aldric caught her staring and explained to her, "I’m sorry but Faeries don’t consume animal flesh, not while we are their protectors and adhere to the old ways."

"Good then. I guess I’ll get diabetes and die quicker this way," Islinda already formed a plan to fill herself with the sweet goodies later.

Aldric chuckled, the sound of it was strangely melodious to her ears. He held her gaze while saying, "Trust me, you would find out that we have the best doctors and elixirs here. You are not dying anytime soon."

The scowl deepened on her face while his mirth only seemed to grow. Fine, he could laugh as long as he wanted, Islinda was determined to one day cause him great pain. He would regret ever dragging her into this.

Without a word, Islinda swept her hand beneath her dress and took a seat. It was a rectangular table and she sat farthest away from him, thankful for the space between them.

Without further ado, Aldric dug into the meal and ate with a rare grace that made her frown deepen. This was not what she expected. Not that Islinda could have known how monsters eat. But they didn’t have basic manners, right? He should behave like a barbarian, not a noble person. It made it easier to hate him that way.

"If you keep on staring at me, I would think you’re beginning to fall for me." He teased her, not that she found it funny.

The look Islinda gave him was deadly but Aldric shrugged it off. He was not scared of her. She was the tiger without bite and he was the bigger predator here.

"Why?" Islinda sneered, "You think I wouldn’t know? The first rule about the Fae taught to us as children is to never drink wine, or eat food offered by a faerie. Not if one doesn’t want to end up enslaved to your kind in mind and soul. You wish to bind me to your world and force me to stay here, it’s never going to happen, Aldric." She said with finality, determination in her eyes.

"Is that so?" He muttered, lifting a silver goblet and drank of the wine, a few drops staining his lips. Aldric lowered the cup, his tongue jutting to lick his bottom lips in a slow seductive move.

Islinda flushed with both embarrassment and anger that she found the move attractive. Not to mention that he had probably done it on purpose to rattle her. She thought the games Aldric would play with her would be physical, but it seems to be mental and she was not going to just sit still and take it.

"I’m done with this!" She said, dropping her hands on her lap yet had subtly stolen and hidden a knife within her clothes. And for once, she was thankful for the thick layers of her skirt.

Islinda stood up to her feet and said with her head lifted high, "I would rather starve to death than eat with the likes of you. Yes, you dragged me here, but you would not force me into doing what I don’t want!"

"Oh, don’t worry," His expression was suddenly dark and made her insides shiver, "I don’t need your permission at all."

"What?" Islinda barely said the words when she felt a probing inside her mind. It was as if claws were digging into her head and she winced, bringing a hand to her temple.

"Come here," It was a simple command.

One that she found herself obeying.

Islinda’s eyes widened, horrified. What was going on? She didn’t want to move to that bastard yet find her body complying. That was when her gaze locked on Aldric and he had a pleased smile.

This was his doing. The monster could control her body. With such wretched power, who knows what he could do to her? Islinda began to panic and struggled inwardly, but her body was no longer hers, and obeyed the wishes of the Fae who commanded it.

Aldric made her walk towards him with a slow swagger as if he enjoyed the warring that must be going on inside of her. Islinda pressed her lips into a thin line and sweat broke out on her face in her struggle to cut loose his control, all to no avail.

Her body finally stopped moving when she came to him, but her relief was short-lived as he commanded her,

"Sit."

It was the seat directly on his right and while she protested, as usual, her body moved on its own.

"Good human." Aldric smiled, smoothing his hand down her hair and treating her like an obedient puppy.

Anger coursed through Islinda, it was a promise, she would deal with this Fae. She would have her revenge.

He removed his hand and commanded her, "Now eat."

Blood drained from Islinda’s face, and great fear engulfed her. It was an instinctive move but Islinda attempted to pull up a mental wall, Aldric was faster and far more experienced with the games of the mind. He dug his claws deeper into her mind and tears sprung in her eyes.

"D-don’t do this, E-Eli..." Her voice broke in the end as she begged him.

"Eat the damn food, Islinda," He added through gritted teeth, "You are not starving, not on my watch."

Her hand moved of course and she picked a fork and stabbed it into a fruit pie and brought a piece to her mouth. Her hand began to shake, showing the struggle between her and her mind.

But Aldric clawed deeper into her mind and she whimpered in pain before opening her mouth and eating the fruit pie. Islinda chewed robotically, more tears springing to her eyes and flowing down her cheeks.

Even the most hardened human would have been touched by her pitiful tears, but no, Aldric was not touched one bit. If anything, his stare was cold and hard when he commanded, "Swallow."

Islinda swallowed the pie at the same time she felt the control on her mind loosen and a sob broke free. This was it.

She was stuck here forever.

She was stuck with him.
