Mated To The Cruel Prince
Chapter 75: I have Plans For You

Chapter 75: I have Plans For You

"Help me...."

All Islinda had to say was those two words and the relief was instantaneous and she caught her breath in a gasp of pain. She curled in on herself, still trembling from the beating, and was detached from the world for a while until she realized that it was deadly silent.

There was no sound of Lillian and Madam Alice anymore and Islinda would have thought all of what happened was a dream or product of his magic except there was still blood on her hands - both hers and Remy’s - and the smell of death. And it unsettled her for strange reasons. What has Eli done this time?

The terror began in the pit of her stomach but continuously wind upwards till it reached her chest and strangled her heart. Amid the excruciating pain, Islinda had to snap out of it and had barely sat up, looking around when she saw the bodies on the floor and her stomach churned at once.

By the gods, no! Hot tears slipped from her eyes and Islinda hunched over, throwing up the little food she had eaten the night before. She had been so nervous that she hasn’t been able to take anything that morning, and now her stomach was completely emptied.

He killed them.

Islinda could not forget the way her gaze had collided with Lillian’s open yet unseeing ones. She was dead. He must have killed her so quickly that she didn’t see it coming until it was too late. No wonder she hadn’t heard a word. The Fae was an efficient killer.

Madam Alice was not different either but she was facing upward and Islinda was spared looking into her eyes that must have hated her even unto death. She ruined them. Perhaps, Lillian was right, she didn’t deserve to live. She brought death into their lives. It was all her fault.

"What have you done?!" Islinda screamed at him.

Eli looked at her with confusion in his eyes, "What are you talking about?"

She lifted her tears filled eyes, voice laced with pain, "Why did you kill them?"

He frowned, "You asked for my help, didn’t you?"

"I didn’t ask you to kill them!" Islinda hissed, "I only wanted you to stop them from hitting me! You....." She thought about the right, "could have subdued them, not -"

"And then what?" He let out a huff, "You forgot that I am a Fae." He emphasized, "A dark Fae."

A shiver danced down her spine and the questions died from her lips. Fae and dark Fae, what was the difference? Islinda wanted to ask but something told her she wouldn’t want to know.

Instead, she cried out, "I didn’t ask for any of this. My life was going perfectly until you ruined it. Why me? I never did you bad and was always good to you," She rasped, finally asking the question, "Who are you?"

"Who am I?" Eli muttered, before chuckling to himself. He then stood a little taller, and said, "Fine, let me introduce myself to you."

Still on the floor, Islinda watched as tendrils of dark magic burst around him, transforming into birds that were made entirely of darkness and thickly surrounded his body so that she couldn’t see a thing except for the sound of her heart hammering in her chest. But that was not the end because the child Eli she had known became a taller form, the darkness still blocking her view of him, as if keeping her in suspense on purpose.

Seconds later, the real Fae was standing in front of her, and by the gods, he was a sight to behold.

"Forgive my late introduction, my name is Aldric, or as they call me, the dark prince." He grinned, the cruel lift of his lips still the same.

Something must be wrong with her to think that the monster before her was breathtakingly beautiful, Islinda reasoned. But the Fae was almost painfully beautiful to behold and Islinda could finally understand where their arrogance towards the human came from. No human could stand before him, not with cheekbones as sharp as, a blade and eyes the color of the deep blue sea.

There was a startling resemblance between him and Eli until it dawned on Islinda’s shock-filled brain that there had never been any "Eli" at all. Both of them were the same and the fae had simply taken his younger form and deceived her. It was the same hair that was so dark it had a bluish hue and

the nature of his malicious expression remained the same.

The only difference was the adult form called ’Aldric’ had tightly coiled muscles that marked him as a warrior Fae and Islinda suddenly felt stupid for thinking she could put him down without help. The tunic he wore was short-sleeved, revealing thick muscles tattooed with runes gleaming with magic.

She did not see that on Eli, he must have kept it hidden and fooled her all along. When he smiled, her blood chilled and Islinda accepted her fate, he was going to kill her and probably enjoy every moment of it.

"Just get it over with already?"

"What?"

"If you are going to kill me, do it already." Islinda said with defiance even though she was shivering inside, "And just so you know, I’m not going to beg."

Hearing that, his wicked smile widened, "You think that I’m going to kill you? Why?"

Now it was Islinda’s turn to get confused. If he didn’t want to kill her, what then? What could the monster possibly want with her? He has ruined her life. Even if he spared her, Islinda would have to live her life while on the run. Even if she told the villagers that a Fae had killed her family, they would never believe her. Why would a Fae end her step-family and leave her alive? They would never believe her.

"Why won’t you kill me? Don’t drag it out, just do it already. Put me out of this misery." She begged him.

"Oh, little human, " He mused, "I have so many plans for you."
