Mated To The Cruel Prince -
Chapter 648: Destroy The Dark Faeries
Chapter 648: Destroy The Dark Faeries
Islinda sensed the shift the instant she opened her eyes.
"Oh no. Not again...." Dread settled inside of Islinda when she spotted herself suddenly in that dim, rusty yet familiar cell.
It has been so long since Islinda had any of these strange dreams about the demon and she became completely lax that it took her by surprise seeing herself here again. Unfortunately, whether she liked it or not, Islinda knew she would have to witness this vision to the end, only then would she be sent back to the waking world. It was basically useless dwindling away her time and had to get started.
Azula remained tethered to the spot where they had restrained her, her once elegant tail now marred by an uneven and grotesque stump from Benjamin’s merciless hacking. The memory sent a shiver down Islinda’s spine, leaving her fervently hoping never to witness such brutality again.
Islinda stood before the demon. Her posture was stiff with her head bowed low and her eyes closed shut. For a fleeting moment, Islinda wondered if death had claimed her, but her familiarity with the demon suggested otherwise. It was as if the demon’s words and thoughts echoed directly into her mind, filling her with thoughts and knowledge she shouldn’t even be able to possess.
Azula had been left alone for five long years. Left to wither away in isolation, enduring the relentless torment of being forgotten and forsaken!
At first, Benjamin would make periodic visits, attempting to coerce her into accepting his demands. The brutal mutilation of her once majestic tail only served to deepen her resolve and hatred for the dark Fae lord. Hence Benjamin’s misguided belief that such brutality would instill fear and compliance in Azula proved futile.
Instead, Azula retreated further into herself, becoming a mere shadow of her former self. She cared not for the threat of death, if anything, Azula anticipated it, knowing it was her only ticket back to her realm where her soul can find solace. But Benjamin seemed to know it, choosing to deny her even such mercy, and withholding the final release of death.
Though Benjamin refrained from physically harming her during his visits, the damage inflicted upon Azula’s psyche was irreparable, irreversibly tarnishing any semblance of redemption in Azula’s eyes. With each passing day, his visits grow fewer and farther between, until they cease altogether, leaving Azula to rot in solitude, forgotten and forsaken by all but her own indomitable spirit.
The mutilation of her tail inflicted excruciating pain, but it was the oppressive silence that tormented Azula the most. Left alone with nothing but her thoughts, Azula struggled to maintain her grip on reality. What began as a brief solitude gradually devolved into a nightmarish blur, where the line between reality and imagination blurred beyond recognition.
In the suffocating void of silence, Azula found herself slipping into brief episodes of madness, engaging in one-sided conversations and laughing at her own jokes. It was a desperate attempt to fill the void left by the absence of companionship. But that was just the beginning of her suffering.
There came the hunger.
At one point, Azula couldn’t help but assume that she had been left alone to slowly die. Perhaps Benjamin managed to get his hands on another demon who would give him the super powered heirs he needed to start his twisted conquest of the Fae realm. However, that seemed unlikely. With her disappearance, other demons would be alarmed and investigate it.
No, Azula wondered why no one have come for her. She was considered royalty in her realm and her disappearance for this long should have thrown her kingdom into chaos. Azula could assume that Benjamin must have a spell cloaking her and preventing her kind from locating her, the same way he bound her hostage with these special chains.
Azula was a pampered princess who had everything she wanted. Was it praise? Worship? Sacrifice? She had it all. There were a band of human who started a cult in her name. In one word, she had never gone hungry since the time she came into existence as a demon.
Yet how the mighty had fallen. Benjamin humiliated her and made her beg for scraps. Now she had been left starving for warm, delicious blood or flesh to sink her fang into. Something she had never lacked and had in abundance. The hunger pang hit her so hard sometimes she would end up screaming with agony. Azula felt like bugs were eating her from the insides out.
Azula’s once graceful frame had withered away to little more than bones, her clothes hanging like rags upon her emaciated form. Malnutrition had left her slender to the point where the bones of her ribs protruded, and her gaunt cheeks bore witness to her suffering. Dark circles ringed her eyes, dimming the fire that once burned within them.
Her vibrant blonde hair, once a symbol of her allure, now hung in unkempt tangles, reaching down to her buttocks in disarray. Azula’s appearance bore no resemblance to the revered princess of lust she once was, no longer the object of desire for every male demon in the realm. She was a shadow of her former self, stripped of her beauty and vitality by years of captivity and neglect.
In the suffocating silence, Azula often found herself screaming out into the void, desperate to shatter the oppressive quietness and hear the echo of her own voice. It was a desperate attempt to reaffirm her existence, to prove to herself that she was still capable of speech, that she had not been rendered deaf and mute by her solitude.
Frequently, Azula would moan at the life she had lost, mourning the beauty that had faded with each passing day. She didn’t need a mirror to know what she looked like; the reflection of her own despair stared back at her in the darkness, a stark reminder of the ugliness that had consumed her.
It was all his fault.
It was all their fault.
If by chance.... If she managed to leave here.... Azula laughed at the thought, the future looked bleak enough. But if somehow she managed to leave here, she would hunt down every single one of them. Her war might be with Benjamin, the dark Fae high lord, but her anger would extend to the others. She would destroy every single one of them.
Benjamin wanted them to prosper, but she would sweep his people away as in a flood from the surface of this realm. There would be no better revenge against Benjamin than knowing his efforts were in vain. This was her promise to him. She would destroy the dark Faeries.
