Chapter 600: Where Was Aldric?

Chapter 600: Where Was Aldric?

Before the incident ....

The sounds of moans reverberated in High Lord Karle’s private quarters evident of the amorous activity going on. He was having the time of his life as two beautiful Faeries pleasured him. One was leaning over him, sucking him to oblivion as he dug his hand into her hair, thrusting deeper into her mouth while the other caressed his body, mouth teasing his small nipples and tracing down his exposed body.

His body was wound tight, feeling his pleasure around the corner and it was only a matter of time till he burst. Although he already had a legal wife, the old hag could not treat him like this and he deserved to have the fun he wanted. The Fae sucking his dick was his favorite one and she knew that, having a confident smile on her face as she took him deeper till he hit the back of her throat with ease. He was going to.....

A loud knock echoed through the room, shattering the moment of pleasure that High Lord Karle was immersed in. He cursed under his breath, frustration coursing through him like wildfire. Whoever dared to interrupt him would face his wrath once he was finished here. His guards were well aware by now that he was not to be disturbed during his "private" moments, especially in his study.

Despite the interruption, his favorite companion continued her skilled ministrations, determined to bring him to the brink of ecstasy. But just as he neared the peak of pleasure, the knock came again, more insistent this time. Lord Karle’s anger flared, and he unleashed a string of curses, his frustration boiling over.

The sensible part of his brain was paralyzed the moment his favorite whore put her expert mouth on him, yet, a small part of him wondered if something was up. However, the allure of the females’ companionship was more enticing than any potential interruption at the door. He had to come!

His anger simmered beneath the surface as he grabbed the woman tightly by the hair. Though she choked on his member from the sudden aggression, Lord Karle paid no mind; his focus was solely on reaching his climax. Veins protruded from his neck as he grunted, finding his release and twitching convulsively on the bed, his expression one of pure bliss. He went limp, spent from the ecstasy of the moment.

Now, that was quite a release. Lord Karle had a self-satisfied grin on his face, thoroughly pleased with the result. He then smacked the other female on the bottom, ordering her to go open the door and let whoever was outside in. Good thing, he was still reeling from the bliss, or else his rage would be unbridled.

"My lord!" His personal assistant came rushing in, a look of terror on his face. "The worst has happened, my lord!"

For a moment there, Lord Karle felt a flicker of concern, but he quickly composed himself. What’s the worst that could happen? His assistant could be making a fuss over a small issue.

"What is it now?" He asked, feigning disinterest.

What would his favorite whore think of him if he reacted fearfully to whatever bad news his assistant came bearing? He was the overlord of the Winter Court; he had to act like one.

"My lord, we are doomed!" He breathed out, chest heaving. It seemed he has ran all the way here.

"Would you make yourself clear and stop being theatrical, you idiot!" He snapped, annoyed by his assistant’s hysteria.

At his command, his second-in-command hastily revealed the news. "My lord, we just received Intel from the border that Prince Aldric is on his way here."

"What?!" He screamed on shock

At once, Lord Karle stiffened on the spot. His ears rang. What did he just hear?

He stammered. "W—which Aldric are we talking about here?"

"My lord!" His assistant cried out, "How many other nephews do you have with the name Aldric? It’s the dark Fae prince we’re talking about!"

Unlike moments ago when the females’ touches had aroused him even though he was completely spent—they had been going at it for hours—right now, his member went flaccid, and their touches became irritating. Lord Karle pushed his favorite whore away roughly, and she fell to the ground with a squeal. Not that he cared if she died right now. He had much bigger problems on his plate. If his nephew was on his way here, then it spelt trouble.

Thus, High Lord Karle pushed himself to his feet, finally treating the serious issue with the urgency it deserved. There was nothing but terror reflected on his face as he hurried to summon his forces and prepare to welcome Prince Aldric, the true High Lord of the Winter Court.

High Lord Karle was a mess, the unexpected visit having taken him by surprise and keeping him on edge. The Dark Fae prince had not visited the Winter Court, not since the death of his mother, leaving the rulership to him. It had never dawned on Lord Karle that he was only a temporary replacement and that he would have to relinquish the power he enjoyed, until now. Now, he was more concerned about the prince finding out about the state of the Winter Court and questioning how he had ruled in his absence. He was not stupid not to know the winter court was in ruins. Perhaps if he explained things, Aldric would understand and accommodate his mistakes

It had been years, and Lord Karle never thought Prince Aldric would set foot on Winter’s soil. His nephew was a Dark Fae, an accursed being, and Lord Karle always assumed that he would die in battle or be killed by the many Faeries who wanted his tainted lineage wiped out once and for all. If that were to happen, Lord Karle would rightfully rule in his place since he had no heirs.

However, reality hit him in the face, and here he was, riding with his soldiers to welcome the Dark Fae prince home, hoping to meet him halfway through and escort him back to the palace. Lord Karle knew at that moment that bootlicking and treating Aldric carefully would save his life.

Except when High Lord Karle got to the main roads, there was no sign of Aldric. Panic began to rise within him as he scanned the area, searching for any trace of his nephew’s arrival. His soldiers exchanged worried glances, realizing that something was amiss.

"What’s going on? Where is he?" Lord Karle demanded, his voice filled with urgency.

But there was no answer, only the chilling silence of the empty road. Aldric’s absence sent a shiver down Lord Karle’s spine, filling him with a sense of foreboding. Something was wrong, and he feared what it might mean for him.
