Mated To The Cruel Prince
Chapter 513: The Princess Had To Wake

Chapter 513: The Princess Had To Wake

In his current guise as a Wrry cat, Prince Wayne exuded an air of nobility despite his foul mood, his feline form masking the stern countenance he bore in his human shape. His furrowed brow and intense gaze would have unsettled anyone had he been in human form. But to those around, he appeared simply as a dignified Wrry cat, his regal demeanor belying the frustration simmering within.

With a series of discontented meows, he voiced his displeasure at the disruption of his plans, his dissatisfaction evident even in his feline form.

It was supposed to be him and Islinda all alone tonight but no, the universe got in the way again. If only that little menace of a child hadn’t stolen her purse, then Islinda wouldn’t have chased after him and then got involved with the Fae guard and the incident escalated! Why did his princess have to be weak in this body? The affairs of this realm shouldn’t concern her at all. If anything, both of them should raze this Astaria to the ground!

Hence Wayne sat on the bed brooding and snarling at anyone who dared to come close to him. He would claw their eyes out. What paw was it again, his favorite? His left, right?

How dare they carry him around anyhow? Do they even know his position in his realm? If he was in his full power, he would ravish their soul. Their ancestors used to cower before him whenever they summoned him. If only he hadn’t come to look for his princess, he wouldn’t have been confined to this form.

Everything in this realm requires balance and order must be restored. His kind was not allowed to exist in this realm for too long unless they possessed a suitable body to tether them in this realm. Unfortunately, his "choices’ ’ were limited and here he was as a Wrry cat.

He watched Valerie, as he stood beside Islinda’s bedside, his expression a mixture of concern and frustration. The doctor, a seasoned healer in the Fae realm, approached with a solemn demeanor.

"Why hasn’t she woken up yet?" The summer prince demanded, his voice edged with worry.

Prince Wayne rolled his eyes at the obvious answer. She was exhausted because she had depleted her energy and her weak human body needed to replenish. Of all the forms his princess could take, it had to be a human one. Her human body was too weak for the powers she held inside. Thankfully, her clock was ticking and soon, she would have to shed her human skin.

He could sense it. She had to too. Soon, he would be together with his princess. His beloved. No one would separate them. No, together, the both of them would have revenge on the Fae who broke them apart. This realm would regret the day they summoned and tricked them.

The healer met Valerie’s gaze with understanding. "Your Highness, Miss Islinda has simply exhausted herself. The events of today took a toll on her physically and emotionally. She needs rest to recover fully."

Valerie clenched his fists, trying to rein in his emotions. He had never felt so powerless before. "How long will she sleep?"

"It’s hard to say for certain," the healer replied gently. "But given her condition, she may need several hours, perhaps even a day, to regain her strength."

Valerie nodded, his jaw set in determination. "Is there anything else that she might need? I want her to be comfortable."

"Nothing you haven’t done, your highness. Just let her have her rest, Your Highness Valerie." The healer said carefully.

Valerie reluctantly nodded in acknowledgment but the lines of worry were etched deeply on his features.

As the healer prepared to depart, his expression shifted upon catching sight of Prince Wayne, a subtle frown betraying his concern. "I’ll take my leave now," he announced, though his gaze lingered on the Wrry cat with a hint of unease. Before he could bid his final farewell, however, a troubling declaration escaped his lips: "I think we have to get rid of the Wrry cat to ensure the human has a comfortable stay..."

With determined resolve, he reached out to Wayne, intent on carrying out his decision. Yet, before his fingers could make contact, the cat reacted with swift defiance, ferociously nipping at the air, narrowly missing the healer’s hand by mere inches. Startled, the healer recoiled, a mixture of surprise and apprehension clouding his features.

Prince Wayne, in his feline form, bristled with aggression, hissing menacingly as he bared his sharp canines at the healer, his body tensed and ready to pounce. Standing tall on his hindlimbs, he seemed poised to launch at the healer in a display of fierce defiance.

However, before any further confrontation could unfold, Prince Valerie interjected with a calming authority. "Just let him be," he declared, his voice carrying a tone of reassurance, "he’s a sensible cat and wouldn’t bother her."

With a reluctant sigh, the healer acquiesced, his resolve faltering in the face of Valerie’s confidence in Wayne’s demeanor. Reluctantly, he turned and left, the tension in the room dissipating as Wayne settled back onto all fours, his gaze lingering on the departing figure with a mixture of defiance and relief. He would destroy anyone who dared to separate him from his beloved tonight.

In the quiet of the room, Valerie stood vigil over Islinda’s sleeping figure, his gaze unwavering as he watched over her. Despite his unwavering devotion, Prince Wayne remained unmoved by Valerie’s display of affection towards his beloved. To him, such devotion was commonplace in his realm, where doting admirers often flocked to Islinda, captivated by her charm.

In Wayne’s eyes, they were like obedient puppies, willing to do anything for her, caught in the web of her influence. He had grown accustomed to witnessing this dynamic, understanding all too well the power Islinda held over those who fell under her spell. They would even go as far as dying for her.

If there was anyone Prince Wayne had to be wary of, it had to be the enigmatic figure of the keen-eyed Fae known as the dark prince. Unlike the adoring admirers who fell under Islinda’s charm, this dark prince remained aloof, his intentions veiled in secrecy and his motives questionable.

Wayne couldn’t shake the feeling of unease that settled in his gut when it came to Aldric. While others fawned over her, the dark prince’s indifference raised suspicions in Wayne’s mind, prompting him to keep a vigilant eye on him, knowing that his beloved’s well-being hung precariously in the balance.

The princess had to awake and no one would stop it.
