Mated To The Cruel Prince
Chapter 493: Aldric Will Kill You

Chapter 493: Aldric Will Kill You

As Isaac hurried down the corridor, his footsteps reverberated off the stone walls, matching the pounding of his heart. Panic surged through him like a tidal wave as he chased after Maxi, his mind filled with worry and fear.

"Maxi, wait!" he called out, his voice echoing through the empty corridor. He quickened his pace, desperate to catch up before she disappeared from sight. Each step felt agonizingly long as he pushed himself to move faster, his senses heightened with urgency.

His thoughts were consumed by concern for Maxi, weighed down by the responsibility of her safety. He couldn’t shake the dread that gnawed at him, fueled by the uncertainty of Aldric’s reaction once he discovered Islinda’s disappearance.

But Isaac knew it was his own fault. If only he had realized what would happen, he would have gone after Islinda as soon as she left. However, he had trusted his abilities, believing that Islinda wouldn’t be far before catching up to her. He had prioritized restraining Aldric before leaving Maxi with him. Above all else, his mate came first. Little did he know the consequences this choice would bring.

As he turned a corner, Isaac caught a glimpse of Maxi up ahead, swiftly making her way towards their room. Thank goodness. Isaac couldn’t help but think she was about to do something foolish.

"Maxi, please," he pleaded, his voice filled with desperation as he closed the distance between them. "We need to talk about this."

"Now is not the time for talking!" she retorted, not even bothering to look at him.

Maxi increased her pace, determined to take matters into her own hands. Isaac’s heart sank as he realized she was set on facing the situation alone.

With a heavy heart, Isaac quickened his own steps, filled with worry for both Maxi and Islinda. He understood his mate’s fears, but he knew she couldn’t handle this on her own. As they reached their room, he braced himself for what Maxi had in mind.

Isaac stood in the doorway, his eyes widening in disbelief as he watched Maxi hastily pack his clothes into a bag. What in the Fae? She moved quickly, almost frantically, tossing items in with trembling hands, fear and urgency etched across her face.

"Maxi, what are you doing?" Isaac asked with a furrow, his voice laced with concern as he stepped further into the room. He couldn’t comprehend why she was packing his belongings so hurriedly, her actions betraying a sense of panic that sent shivers down his spine.

Maxi didn’t look up from her task, fully focused on getting everything packed. "You have to leave," she said, her voice tense with urgency.

Isaac froze, noting the pronoun she used, "you".

He shook his head, refusing to believe what she had just said. "What?"

"You have to get out of here before Aldric finds out about Islinda," Maxi explained, meeting his gaze for a moment before turning her attention back to the task at hand. "I’ll pack the essentials for you. Clothes, food, water, money. Then you need to go to Oma..." She paused, thinking it over, "No, you need to take Oma and Kayla and run, because your home would be the first place Aldric would search."

Isaac’s heart skipped a beat as the gravity of the situation sank in. But he found her request so absurd that he couldn’t help bursting into laughter, tears escaping his eyes as he wiped them away with his thumb.

His expression turned serious, and he made it clear to Maxi, "I’m not going anywhere."

Maxi paused in her packing, her face contorting with pain as she looked up at him. "Isaac, this is serious," she said, her voice tinged with exasperation. "You have to leave before Aldric finds out about Islinda and who she’s with."

Isaac walked over to her, speaking firmly, "I’m making it clear that I won’t leave my mate for that lunatic to do as he pleases once he’s freed. Besides, how can you even expect me to run and leave my mate behind? What would that do to my pride?"

"This isn’t about pride, Isaac!" Maxi fired back, her frustration giving way to concern. "This is a matter of life and death. I’ve known Aldric for centuries. He may be furious when he discovers everything, but he would never harm me. I’m the only one he has left. But that doesn’t mean he won’t do something reckless. And that’s where you come in. Aldric thinks you’re the reason I’ve changed, or something, and I bet he would kill you." Maxi’s fear was palpable as she spoke.

Isaac sobered slightly, the weight of the situation hitting him. Maxi was right, but it didn’t mean he would run away like a coward. He watched as she continued packing his things, her hands moving swiftly as if every second counted.

Without a word, Isaac hugged her from behind, causing her to stiffen at first. Eventually, she relaxed, leaning into his embrace. He murmured against her ear, his words filled with warmth, "But running away won’t solve anything. And besides, how long could I run? Aldric doesn’t forgive easily, and I can’t bear a second without you."

Maxi let out a sigh, her shoulders slumping in defeat as she realized nothing she said would push Isaac away. Deep down, she wanted him to stay, needing his support in a time like this when she had made a huge mistake. But she couldn’t be selfish enough to risk the mate the gods had blessed them with. Yet Isaac was right; running away wouldn’t solve their problems.

"You’re such an idiot," Maxi told him, a shiver running through her as he kissed her neck. "Don’t say I didn’t warn you when Aldric snaps your neck." Fear still lingered in her eyes, but Isaac was her support, filling her with warmth and bravery.

Isaac grinned, laughter bubbling up again as he continued to shower her with affection. His hands roamed over her body, searching for bare skin to caress. Once he found his target, Maxi shuddered in delight.

He leaned back to speak, looking into her eyes, "We’ll figure it out. Also, he would confront the prince and he’d let Islinda let go."

"I hardly doubt that. He hates Aldric and everyone in the Fae realm knows he’s pining after Islinda ever since." Maxi said, her breathing coming in deeper and long. She was being slowly seduced by Issac’s wandering hands.

"On the bright side, he would not harm her. Islinda is safe and we’d come for her. There’s nothing to worry about. Aldric would never know Valerie has her. Everything would be fine. " Issac said, his eyes darkened with lust as he leaned in for a kiss.

But before he could capture her lips, Maxi pressed her finger against his lips, amusement flickering in her eyes. He lifted a questioning brow.

"What’s gotten into you? I’m starting to think you’re possessed," she teased.

Isaac pretended to sigh dramatically. "Here I am, trying to be romantic, and my mate isn’t interested."

Maxi burst into laughter, pulling him closer. "Come here, you oversized child." She clasped his face, planting a kiss on his lips. It quickly turned into a passionate exchange.

She squealed as Isaac lifted her off her feet, her legs wrapping around him as he carried her to their bed, their lips still locked. Isaac tossed aside the bag Maxi had packed that stood in the way, focusing solely on their desire.

Maxi shivered in anticipation as she saw the passion in Isaac’s eyes. He hovered over her, lowering his head for another kiss. And so, they indulged in their primal desires, doing such thing children shouldn’t know about.
