Mated To The Cruel Prince
Chapter 482: The Fight For Control

Chapter 482: The Fight For Control

Aldric’s room was a disaster. Every single thing had been wrecked and upturned as if a tornado had appeared in the room. Aldric was still buck naked, he had not bothered to dress after Islinda left. Morelike he had sent her fleeing. Which he was kind of good at.

The dark fae prince lay sprawled on the floor in the corner of the room, his head hanging limply, almost lifeless. In a sudden, eerie movement, he lifted his head, revealing a feral gleam in his eyes that could instill fear in anyone who beheld it. Fortunately, Islinda was not present, sparing her from the potential shock of witnessing him in this state. The beast-like intensity in his gaze suggested that, at that moment, he was more animal than fae, capable of untamed and dangerous actions.

A deadly and menacing aura enveloped him, his body radiating raw anger. Aldric had shifted into his primal form, his glowing blue eyes encircled by ominous black obsidian rings. Razor-sharp claws extended from his fingers, capable of tearing through flesh and spilling intestines. These were the very claws that had ruthlessly shredded the bed where he and Islinda had shared intimate moments, leaving feathers strewn across the room like macabre confetti.

Aldric rose, his posture erect, each step deliberate, akin to the calculated movements of a predatory creature. Positioned before the mirror, he gazed at his own furious reflection. Despite his own face staring back, Aldric was acutely aware that Eli lurked within, a presence he had forcefully expelled, denying the deceptive figure any retreat deeper into his mind. Eli had a tendency to conceal himself when causing havoc, leaving Aldric to deal with the aftermath. This time, however, there would be no hiding. Eli had to face him.

Even as they communicated telepathically, with no magical manifestation in the mirror, Aldric maintained the habit of staring at his reflection while speaking. In his mind’s eye, he envisioned Eli, his alter ego, and it almost felt as if he were locking at each other during their conversation.

"You knew!" Aldric snarled at the mirror, as soon as he felt Eli’s presence. The gods knew that if his alter ego could physically manifest, he would have a punch across the face.

He continued, still baring his teeth at his reflection. "You knew that she was! That was why you were so insistent on keeping her! On protecting her! This was why you wanted to bring us close together....." It dawned on him as if he could finally read Eli’s mind like an open book, "You wanted me to soften up to her... to fall in love with her so I wouldn’t kill her by the time I realized what she was.... Fuck!"

"Fuck!" Aldric screamed the second time, punching the empty air and going hard on himself for not realizing his other half’s scheming from the very start.

"Damn you! Damn you to the seven hell, Eli!" He snarled at the mirror.

"Its the both of us, remember? We’d visit the seven hells together. " Eli answered him with a snark.

Aldric thought he saw a smirk across his reflection and couldn’t contain his frustration, punching the mirror. Spiderwebs formed across its surface as it shattered. Growling low, he realized how foolishly he had acted. It was just a figment of his mind. Now he was back to talking to himself without the aid of the mirror.

"I would not let this happen!" Aldric said, his hands clenched into fists at his side.

"You cannot do anything, she’s our mate!" Eli protested.

"One that I didn’t ask for!" Aldric fired back, his eyes glowing with more power.

Eli said, "Islinda is a blessing given to us by the gods. We cannot lose her.".

"We?" Aldric laughed dryly.

His expression turned cruel as he said, "You were supposed to be my better half but have always been too emotional and short-sighted. You think this is a blessing? It is a curse! One that you know what happens when others find out?!" He shouted, darkness bursting out of him.

Aldric clasped his head with a growl of frustration. He didn’t even dare to imagine the aftermath. Of Islinda’s fate. Dark Faeries don’t have mates! It was said that they gave up that privilege when they sold their souls for powers. How it was even possible was beyond him? Perhaps it was because she was human or he was half light Fae. He couldn’t exactly tell.

That was another reason why the Faeries never bothered him. They had imagined that he would live a lonely life. No chance of getting a gods-blessed mate or a female daring to marry him. But now, he had a mate, with whom he would probably raise cursed children.

Even if somehow Islinda was spared by his father, she would be treated like an anomaly. Hated by the Faeries of Astaria, she would have no real friends or life. They would ostracize her as the monster’s mate. But above all, Islinda would become his weakness.

Aldric had been confident and reckless in all his actions because he had nothing to lose, unlike the royal family who had one or two things to protect. Until now. He would no longer be invisible. Islinda would be his downfall. The Queens would try to get to him through her. Even his plans for the throne would be in jeopardy. Both he and Islinda would never be safe as long as they were mates.

"We can protect her," Eli argued.

Aldric chuckled coldly, "Protect what? A human with a short lifespan? Even if the others don’t kill her, she would eventually expire in the end. Humans don’t last." His eyes renewed with determination as he added, "Which is why I’d rather lose her now and achieve my purpose than solidify the bond, only to lose her and everything later."

"No!" Eli protested, "I will not let you harm her!" He threatened his host.

Aldric smiled menacingly, "You cannot resist me, Eli, for I own you."

"We shall see." The battle lines were drawn.

Thus, the fight for control began, and Aldric groaned, veins bulging on his forehead as he grappled with his other half. Throbbing with pain, he screamed, sweat dripping down his forehead as he was forced down to his knees.

However, Aldric forcefully slammed the door down on Eli, pushing him to the deepest abyss of his mind. It was a fierce struggle, but Aldric emerged victorious, firmly in control of his body.
