Chapter 476: Islinda Would Pay With Her Life

Note: This scene contains graphic violence and gore and may be triggering for some readers.

Aldric was far from being a hero. Yet, knowing that the dark Fae prince was the epitome of evil and witnessing his actions were two very different experiences. When Aldric mentioned that he had something to show her, a part of Islinda secretly hoped that he would summon Sura and publicly punish her. However, Islinda should have been careful what she wished for.

Sura stood completely naked, bent over a table. Islinda would have been envious of her naked figure if not for her disheveled appearance and the sheer terror in her eyes. The Fae princess had always exuded pride and confidence, but now, she trembled with unimaginable fear. Islinda couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy; she knew she would have felt the same fear in such a situation.

Turning towards Aldric with an angry expression, Islinda demanded, "What is the meaning of this?"

"I am punishing her," he replied emotionlessly.

"I did not request such a punishment," Islinda frowned at him.

"Good. I am not doing it for you either."

Islinda arched an eyebrow, unimpressed by his response.

"I haven’t given my servants a show in quite some time. It’s about time I tapped into my inner monster," Aldric smirked.

"Inner monster?" Islinda asked, her head slightly tilted.

Aldric’s smile grew sinister as he said, "You should sit, the show is about to begin."

True to his words, two chairs were set up, and Aldric forcefully dragged Islinda towards them. She sighed in exasperation as she reluctantly took her seat. She despised being bossed around by him, but her curiosity got the better of her. Although Islinda felt sorry for Sura, there was a part of her that found satisfaction in knowing the Fae would receive the punishment she deserved. Little did Islinda know that she would come to regret those words later.

"So, what’s next?" Islinda snorted, feigning boredom. "A public flogging? How original."

Aldric’s eyes probed hers, his smile growing increasingly sinister. "Don’t worry, I have something more original in mind. I hope you enjoy it."

Suddenly, Aldric stood up, and a sense of dread washed over Islinda. What was he planning? She felt uneasy being left in the dark.

"Thank you all for joining us on this special occasion," Aldric addressed the gathered servants. Islinda could sense the anticipation on their faces, and they kept their distance. The air filled with an ominous tension, all created by the dark Fae prince.

"I won’t waste your time, because, let’s be honest, none of you can stand my presence, and I have better things to do than stare at your pathetic faces," Aldric sneered.

Islinda winced at his disparaging words, her lips pressed into a thin line. The Fae prince had no respect or regard for anyone. It was no surprise that he was viewed as a nuisance, and everyone wanted him gone. Aldric was unlikeable, and he made no effort to be liked.

"Today, we are here to witness the punishment of one of my staff members, Sura, who dared to call my exclusive human companion a whore."

"Crap," Islinda cursed under her breath, feeling countless eyes fixed on her. Already despised because of the special treatment she received from Aldric, now she would be completely ostracized. Just wonderful.

"I’m not a Fae of many words. So, let’s get started," Aldric announced, a glint in his eyes. The crowd held their breath, eager to see what would happen next.

Islinda sat at the edge of her seat, gripping the armrest with such force that her knuckles turned white. Her eyes fixed on Sura, she expected a Fae to appear with a whip to punish her. But that didn’t happen.

Instead, Islinda watched in horror as Sura began to tremble, letting out an agonizing scream. And that’s when she saw it. Aldric’s shadows emerged, as they always did, and inexplicably, they began to sew Sura’s mouth shut with what appeared to be a metallic thread.

By the gods, no...!

Gasps and cries of shock erupted from the crowd as they witnessed this gruesome act. Islinda didn’t realize it at first, but she had already jumped to her feet, only to be forcefully pulled back into her seat. Confused, she looked down, only to discover that her hands and legs had been bound to the chair.

"Aldric?!" Islinda screamed his name, struggling against his shadows to no avail. She detested being held captive, and it only worsened in this situation where she longed to help Sura. Aldric had truly lost his mind.

"Don’t worry, honey. Now is not the time to get angry. We haven’t even begun to explore my plans for her," Aldric reassured her with a smile.

But that smile did nothing to reassure Islinda. If anything, it only confirmed how much of a psychopath Aldric really was.

"Aldric?!" Islinda shouted his name again, this time vibrating with anger as Sura’s screams pierced her ears. While she had wanted Sura to suffer, she never wished for it to be this brutal. Her human heart couldn’t handle it.

"Relax, Islinda. This phase will be over soon, and then we’ll move on to the next," he replied unflinchingly, dismissing her outburst as if she were a child throwing a tantrum.

Unfortunately, Islinda had reached her limit. Anger surged through her veins, and before she knew it, she had broken the armrest and began to destroy the rest of the chair.

Aldric turned to Islinda, his expression startled, his brows furrowed tightly. How was she capable of such strength? He watched in astonishment as she fought against his shadows, gaining enough freedom to approach him and swing a punch at his face.

Swiftly dodging her attack, he deftly avoided a second blow. Gripping her arm, he pinned her hands behind her back, bringing their bodies close together.

Whispering in her ear, he said, "You have a knack for destruction when you’re angry. How did you manage that?"

Islinda snarled at him. "Trust me, you’re about to find out."

With that, she headbutted him, causing Aldric to release her and stumble backward. He looked up at her with wide eyes, a hand reaching up to touch his bleeding nose.

What in the Fae?

His anger flickered in his eyes, hardening into determination as he clenched his fist. He was done being gentle with her. Now, Islinda was going to pay with her life.
