Islinda was still disturbed by her discovery, and when their eyes met, a shudder ran through her body. His eyes were completely black, with the pupil covering the sclera, devoid of any hint of compassion. Unlike the other dark Faeries who proudly displayed their marks, this Fae seemed to embrace his chilling and twisted cruelty.

His gaze bore into Islinda’s, making her wonder if he could see through her. Instinctively, she took a fearful step back. However, he looked away, showing no sign of recognition. Islinda placed her hand over her chest, feeling relieved.

That was too close.

Unlike the other Faeries, he was the only one who wore clothes, which allowed the runes on his arms and neck to peek out. Islinda recognized him as the leader of the villains and felt wary of his presence.

He commanded the witch, "You should summon her now."

Defiantly, the witch lifted her face, eyes filled with defiance. "You do know demons don’t appreciate being disturbed."

"Not if we can entice them with a sacrifice." He smiled coldly, subtly nodding his head.

Instantly, a Fae who appeared to be his second in command forcefully pushed a follower forward. The follower stumbled, confusion evident in his eyes as he took in the scene. It wasn’t until he saw his leader’s detached expression that he realized what was happening.

Islinda almost felt pity for the poor Fae. He had been betrayed by the same people he trusted, possibly even considered family. They had easily sacrificed him for their goals. Well, he should have known from the beginning that following the wrong side meant monsters showed no qualms about sacrificing their own.

Before he could comprehend what was going on, two Faeries grabbed him, holding onto his arms tightly as he screamed and struggled fiercely. They forced him to his knees. Meanwhile, the second in command approached with a sinister smile, a gleaming blade in hand.

He yanked the Fae’s hair, exposing his throat, and slit it. Blood splattered, landing on the pentagon, causing the circle to emit an eerie glow as it absorbed the blood. The Fae sputtered and choked on his own blood, still alive as the second in command continued to cut his throat until he decapitated him. He then tossed the severed head into the circle. Following that, he punched the Fae’s chest, ripping out his heart, and throwing it into the circle as well.

Even in her invisible form, Islinda felt nausea rise in her throat. The brutality of the slaughter left her gagging. The thought of potentially being a sacrificial lamb was no longer amusing. However, she had no time to dwell on it as the witch began reciting incantations. The line glowed even brighter than before, forcing Islinda to shield her face with her palm.

As the light subsided, Islinda gasped for breath, her lungs feeling empty. In the middle of the pentagon stood a beautiful woman. However, Islinda wasn’t foolish enough to believe she was human. She recognized this being as a demon, even though she appeared human. A demon with a dangerously alluring beauty. There was a predatory glint in her eyes, as if she would devour them all if given the chance.

The demon lazily surveyed her surroundings, briefly resting her gaze on the leader of the dark Fae. Her arrogant stare implied he wasn’t worth her attention.

"Who dares awaken the princess of lust?" she drawled, her voice resonating with effortless authority.

"A succubus? Perfect," the leader of the dark Fae exclaimed with awe, a covetous glint in his eyes that sent shivers down Islinda’s spine. She wanted no association with that Fae.

He turned to the witch and said, "Good job. Now, I will fulfill the end of our deal." He dropped the chain from his hand. "You’re free."

At first, the witch appeared hesitant, doubting if he would uphold his end of the deal. However, she saw the seriousness in his eyes and finally stood, clumsily freeing herself from the chains.

"So, I’m really free?"

"Of course, you’re free."

Tears welled up in the witch’s eyes as hope filled her. She turned to sprint out of the crypt to escape. However, her path was blocked by a group of the Fae. The witch seemed to think they were playing around as she attempted to move in a different direction, only for them to obstruct her path, cackling as if her attempts amused them greatly.

A frown formed on the witch’s face as she turned to complain to their leader. But when she looked at him, freeze, dread filled her expression. She saw it clearly written on his face. He was never going to let her go.

Rage consumed her, and she growled, "You promised! We had a deal!"

He smirked and replied, "Of course, we had a deal that I would let you go once you gave me what I wanted. However, you didn’t specify whether you would remain in one piece or be torn apart."

The witch gasped in alarm and glanced down, her chest filled with trepidation. A hand poked out of her chest, her still warm and beating heart clutched tightly in the Fae leader’s grasp. The witch spat out blood as the hand withdrew, leaving a gaping hole in her chest. With one last horrified look at the leader of the dark Fae, she collapsed to the ground, her lifeless eyes staring blankly at the ceiling.

The Fae who had ripped out her heart was none other than the second in command, whose eyes still held a crazed look. He held onto the heart and offered it to the demon, asking, "Do you want it?" He tossed it at the pentagon, but some kind of barrier prevented it from entering, causing the heart to fall onto the floor.

The succubus smiled tightly. "I would have loved it if you weren’t so rude about it." Her expression turned grim. "Unfortunately, I’m about to suffer indigestion from the previous sacrifice."

The second in command said nothing, continuing to display his smugness as he licked the blood off his fingers.

The succubus redirected her attention to the leader, speaking with a snarky tone. "That was quite an entertaining performance. Now, perhaps you can provide me with a good reason for summoning me, or else I will obliterate you." Her face darkened.
