Mated To The Cruel Prince -
Chapter 421: Young And Reckless
Chapter 421: Young And Reckless
"Isaac...."
A furrow appeared on Isaac’s brow as the voice whispered in his head.
"Isaac, wake up. It’s me."
His eyes finally opened, only to widen upon seeing Maxi hovering over him.
"What are...?"
However, he couldn’t finish his sentence because she climbed into bed with him, causing Isaac to scoot over and make more space for her. By the time she settled down, Maxi was grinning down at him and Isaac couldn’t help the way his heart fluttered.
"How?" He inquired about how she had been able to escape his mother’s confines.
No one knew about the mate bond between them; Isaac and Maxi had decided it was best to keep quiet about it. Who knows how the Fae would react if they were to realize that a dark Fae could form a bond with another Faerie without consequences. The belief that dark Fae were cursed to be mateless had been circulating for eons. It would definitely cause a ruckus.
As a new couple, Isaac and Maxi desired to spend time together, but Oma clearly had other plans. Instead of giving Maxi the guest room, where Isaac could easily sneak into at night, she demanded that the horse shifter sleep in her room. In her words, and I quote, "It’s not a crime to spend time with my daughter-in-law."
Isaac’s hands were tied and Maxi wanted to please her mother-in-law. It was nice that Oma had accepted her without asking questions, and Maxi wanted to improve their relationship. However, her kind mother-in-law couldn’t compare to the heavenly sensations of feeling Isaac’s strong arms wrapped around her at night.
Maxi had already grown used to that, so it was no wonder she snuck into Isaac’s bed quite early in the morning while others slept.
"You are one naughty Fae," Isaac teased her after her explanation, pushing away the lock of hair that got in her face. She leaned into his touch, and the gesture reminded him of a pet craving the appreciation of its master. Maxi loved touches more than the average Fae, thanks to her shifter side.
It was weird to think that he had once loathed her existence, despised her for being a dark Fae horse shifter. But now, he couldn’t even afford to make her sad. It wasn’t obvious before, but Isaac could feel it now, the bond between them. It was a string of energy connecting the both of them together. He couldn’t hurt her now, even if he tried.
"Maxi!" Isaac suddenly hissed when a certain horse shifter ground into him.
But she grinned at him knowingly and continued, leaving Isaac no choice but to grab her hips and keep her from testing his self-control.
"Let’s just sleep, okay?" He pleaded with her.
She answered, "Sleeping is for the weak."
Isaac sighed, resigning himself. "Fine, I’m weak, okay?"
She gave him a mischievous smile. "Then let me strengthen you, my shy Fae."
And with that, her lips descended on his with a fiery hunger, so sweet, so ravenous. Before Isaac knew it, he found himself filled with a burst of strength, and he turned her onto her back, taking over the kiss instead.
"See?" Maxi said after they broke apart for air, a triumphant grin on her face. "Sleeping is for the weak, and there is no room for weakness between us."
And then they descended into a world of their own again.
It was safe to say that whenever Maxi started something between them, she would see it through. Isaac just couldn’t understand her high libido. It wasn’t that he didn’t have needs, but he was much more controlled and didn’t let them override his reasoning. However, ever since Maxi came into his life, he even attempted things he was never into.
"Shhh, Maxi," Isaac panicked, palming her mouth and looking behind the door as if his mother would burst in at any minute. "You should keep it down."
Maxi giggled into his palm, peeling his hand away from her mouth to say, "I like that we’re being sneaky, as if we’re doing something sinful." Aside from the deep breathing, one wouldn’t even be able to tell Maxi was in the middle of copulation with the ease at which she spoke.
Isaac groaned, feeling her tight channel squeeze him harder. Her unbridled passion only made him lose control, and the next thing he knew, he was thrusting into her with a need so great that when he climaxed, his teeth were gritted and he spilled every seed into her.
But that wasn’t the end.
They went at it again and again, and Maxi kept her moans buried like the obedient fae – only in bed – she was. In one word, they spent what little time they had to sleep mating.
When Oma woke up the next morning, she quickly noticed that the side of her bed reserved for Maxi was empty and cold, proof that it had been deserted for a while now. Her eyebrows arched in surprise, and she could only guess where her new daughter-in-law had gone.
Perhaps others might condemn her for being so strict with her adult son, but until Isaac and Maxi were officially married, they would maintain a chaste relationship under her roof. It was for their own good. She didn’t want a situation where Maxi turned out to be pregnant. Although it was technically difficult for Fae to reproduce, it had happened to her. She wanted both of them to have the opportunity to spend time together without the trouble that came with childbirth. Moreover, if things didn’t work out between them, Oma didn’t want her son weighed down by responsibility. She knew her son, and Isaac was bound by duty.
When Oma approached Isaac’s room, she was certain that she would catch them in the act. So when she knocked, she expected to hear them panicking and trying to hide the truth, but there was no sound. The room was silent. She knocked again, before finally pushing the door open, only to find an empty room.
"Huh? Where are they?"
It wasn’t until Oma came downstairs that she heard activity somewhere in the house. She went to the kitchen and discovered the couple she was searching for busy making breakfast.
"Good morning, Oma." Maxi was the first to notice her presence and flashed her the brightest smile.
"Maxi...." She was still saying her name when the Fae swept her into a hug, nearly lifting her off her feet. "Okay...?" Oma was overwhelmed, having never seen a Fae more prone to touch than her daughter-in-law. Maxi was... unique?
"Good morning, mother." Isaac offered a curt greeting as usual.
Oma then looked between the two of them, the question hanging in the air. Maxi noticed it and said, "Ahh, I’m sure you must have been surprised when you found my bed empty. I woke up quite early, perhaps it has to do with the fact that this is my first time here..." She chuckled. "Nonetheless, I wanted to do something for you, so I bothered Isaac and here we are." Maxi explained innocently.
However, Oma could smell the bullshit from a mile away. Perhaps it was because she had once been young like them, but she knew when a couple had been intimate, perhaps it was the energy or the synchronization between them. She just sensed it. Unfortunately, she had no evidence to pin it on them, so she let it be.
She cracked a smile. "You did well, Maxi."
Maxi blushed. "I can’t take all the glory though. To be honest, I know little about cooking. It’s Isaac that..." She turned in Isaac’s direction, only to discover that he was dozing off, causing her eyes to widen. She quickly nudged him with her hips, and he snapped out of it immediately. "I could only do it with his help." Maxi finished with a nervous smile.
"Why is she nervous?" Maxi wondered. She had never gone out of her way to please anyone, regardless of their position. And yet, she wanted to please Oma, all because she was Isaac’s mother and Isaac loved her. Usually, when a Fae posed a problem, she "cleared" the problem out of her way. Maxi would have to learn patience as a virtue when dealing with her shy Fae’s family.
If Oma noticed Maxi’s nervousness, she didn’t say a word. Her expression remained neutral. In the end, it seemed that young Fae in love would never disappoint, and perhaps Oma would only tire herself by standing in their way.
Immediately, Kayla came into the kitchen, yawning in an unladylike manner that made Oma’s eyes narrow in her direction. Not that she minded, instead her expression brightened at the sight of food.
"You made food, Maxi?" Kayla looked at her with adoration.
Maxi cringed. "Isaac helped me, or else you might be homeless by now."
However, Kayla wasn’t listening because she threw herself at the horse shifter, hugging her tight.
"Don’t worry about that. It has been proven that the females of this family are not exactly talented in the kitchen..." She noticed Oma’s glare, "except my lovely mother, of course. However, it’s a good thing I have a supporter and I’m not alone anymore. Thank you for being the best sister in law I could ever have!"
Kayla dragged her into another hug while Maxi was slightly stunned. Never did she think that her lack of a skill was a blessing in disguise.
