Mated To The Cruel Prince -
Chapter 410: The Monster In Him
Chapter 410: The Monster In Him
Elena attempted to reach for Aldric as soon as he turned his back on her but was knocked down by something. More like someone.
"Die!" The Fae screeched, his hand tight around her neck like a vice.
The suddenness of the events caught Aldric off guard, and he stood motionless for a second, bewildered by what was happening. He did not move until Elena’s piercing scream pierced the air. In a fury, his shadows burst from his body, grabbing the insane Fae from Elena with lightning speed. He only acted on his instincts
The crazed Fae was suspended in the air by Aldric’s shadows, while Elena screamed in agony on the ground. Aldric was taken aback when he noticed darkened imprints around Elena’s neck from where the Fae had choked her. Things did not stop there; her darkened skin and a gaping hole in her dress revealed more damage. Her skin looked like it was decaying.
Fear filled Aldric’s face as he saw the warning signs. So his suspicion was confirmed when he looked at the Fae with a foreboding expression. The Fae had markings on his face. It was a dark Fae.
Pandemonium erupted across the ballroom, as everyone fled helter-skelter for their lives. The scene astounded Queen Maeve and her co-wives, who immediately rose from their seats. They had not seen a dark fae attack in a long time, let alone one in the palace. Just how did he end up there? The markings should have been a dead giveaway. Unless, of course, they devised another method.
The Fae squirmed under Aldric’s control like a worm, his feet off the ground, and the dark Fae prince cast cold glances at the Faeries who had moved away from him.
"What are you still waiting for?" he growled at them. "Are you not going to take her to a healer, or are you going to wait until the corruption has reached her heart?"
Those words prompted them to action, and the Fae guard, along with some servants, carried Elena off the ground. She was wailing in pain and zoning out when they rushed her to a healer.
Now that the distractions were gone, Aldric focused on the Fae, and his two orbs darkened as his iris completely covered his scerela, revealing his dark Fae origin, and the Fae in the room gasped, taking a step back. It was the first time most of them had seen Aldric in this form, and it was terrifying.
"Who sent you?" Aldric questioned him, his voice resonating down the hall and instilling fear in those who heard it. Although the Queens did not acknowledge it, it was clear that Aldric’s aura was heavy and made breathing difficult. The king was the only Fae with such a repressive aura.
The Fae laughed at Aldric, saying, "You must think you are safe because they decreed it." But believe me, you are still cursed, and sooner or later they will turn their back on —Ahh!"
"Blah, blah," Aldric was not in the mood for such conversation as his shadow tightened around the Fae’s neck, cutting off his air supply.
"Who sent you?" he asked again. No, why were you after Elena?"
"Why are you doing this to me?," the dark Fae sobbed like a child. "I, too, am a dark Fae like you. If anything, you are supposed to be our king —"
"Apologies, but I refuse to be a part of a losing squad." His offer was turned down by Aldric. "Also, brace yourself; this is going to hurt."
On cue, his shadow twisted his ankle, and the dark Fae let out a chilling shrill sound so intense that some Fae had to close their ears.
"All right, Aldric, that is enough!" Queen Maeve walked authoritatively over to the scene.
"I do not understand," Aldric said, raising his brow at her. "Why do you want me to stop now? Were you, by chance, the one who sent him?"
"What?" Queen Maeve blanched.
Looking around the room, she could feel everyone’s gaze fixed on her. A wave of wrath washed over her; how could Aldric dare to suggest that she was hiding a dark Fae?
"Do you dare accuse your Queen of such a horrific crime?" she roared. Intense rage coursed through her body.
"It was more of a question than an accusation. If that is not the case, could you please step to the side? As you can see, I am quite busy."
Queen Maeve was on the verge of an aneurysm and rubbed the beginnings of a crick in her neck. The level of disrespect! Aldric dealt a crushing blow to her ego.
"Now, where were we?" Aldric focused on his target, ignoring the Queen’s petty demands."Yes, right, the interrogation. Are you ready to tell me what I want?"
The dark Fae’s lips trembled, his body still shivering from the first torture.
Aldric sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "You do know that I hate being delayed."
"Please, P—please." The Fae was still pleading when Aldric said, "Let us keep it simple this time."
And he broke his pinkie.
Another agonized scream rang out across the ballroom.
"Stop it, Aldric! I said, stop!" Queen Maeve’s ordered. "It is a command."
"Why?"
"What?"
"Why should I stop when I am attempting to extract the truth from his mouth?"
"Because he should be officially investigated by the Royal Guard," Queen Maeve said, looking him in the eyes.
"Female, who has been fighting your wars?" sneered Aldric.
Queen Maeve had neglected the fact that Aldric was the prince of War in an attempt to assert her dominance over him. They may not have given him an official position, but he ranked above the captains and commanders as the prince of war and a war hero — not that they celebrated him.
He saw the moment the truth dawned on her and relaxed.
"If I were you, I would take a step back because this is about to get messy," Aldric warned, smirking.
"Y—you!" Queen stumbled over her words. Not only did Aldric dismiss her authority, but he also referred to her as female! An ordinary lady?! Not even the king dared to address her as such. She was the Fae Queen of Astaria! After her husband, King Oberon, she is Astaria’s second most important citizen!
Queen Maeve continued to rant, ignoring Aldric’s command.
"Let us put an end to this!" Aldric said this while tilting his head to the side, causing the Fae to feel a lot of pressure on his arm.
He began to scream as the shadows pulled and pulled, ripping his arms from his body.
"Ahh!" Queen Maeve screamed as blood splattered across her face.
While Queen Maeve’s jaw was still hanging open in a scream, Aldric severed the other arm of the dark Fae, bits getting into her mouth.
Aldric persisted until he severed all of the Fae’s limbs, leaving him a gibbering wreck on the floor, his lips contorted into cries of anguish.
"Pick him up," Aldric ordered the guard to do because Fae would not die easily until her heart failed. "We have an investigation to conduct."
While all of this was going on, Queen Maeve remained motionless and in shock.
Aldric snorted at her dramatic reaction.
He turned around at that moment, still reeling from the thrill of the bloodlust, only to find his eyes locked with Islinda’s. There was blood all over the dark Fae, and Islinda appeared as though she was going to pass out. She saw the darker side of Aldric for the first time, and it left her stunned and horrified.

"Look away," the voice echoed in her head.
Amayah knew she shouldn’t peep, but then, a flash of those well-packed muscles entranced her. Her throat suddenly felt dry, and saliva gathered in her mouth like a dog salivating over food. If "he" was a delicacy, then this one was steamy and delicious.
He had his back turned to her while he bathed, and she marveled at the smooth skin stretched over solid muscle. Her gaze quickly captured the ripple of those muscles each time he scooped water over his body.
This wasn’t just spying; Amayah felt like a pervert.
---
Amayah wasn’t a pervert, but she sure became one after spying on a very handsome man while he bathed. In her defense, she didn’t see his nakedness, just his back. His beautiful back. Unfortunately, the handsome man turned out to be a king, not just any other king, but the villain king of the kingdom of Emberfall.
Unfortunately, karma catches up with Amayah because King Alaric demands she takes responsibility for him. He goes as far as kidnapping her to keep her as his bride.
Despite successfully escaping, Amara soon discovers that the king is no benevolent ruler; he is a malevolent figure who has even taken the life of his own queen. Now, for reasons known only to him, he relentlessly pursues Amayah.
While she contemplates hiding, the stark reality sets in—the kingdom is under his control, and he will spare no effort to find her. What started as a daring gambit now unfolds into a perilous game, one that the king is determined to see through to its ominous end.
