Mated To The Cruel Prince
Chapter 407: Make You A King

Chapter 407: Make You A King

Prince Aldric stood at the spot unmoving. It had been minutes gone since Islinda hit him on the face and yet the move left a great impact because his hand still clasped his jaw. It was as if he was unable to believe she hit.

However, it wasn’t her audacity that stunned him, after all, Islinda was known to push his buttons, but the strength he felt in that blow. He felt his jaw slowly recover from the fracture it suffered and he flexed it just to be sure. Aldric’s eyes were narrowed into slits, his thinking cap on. His mind spiraled around one realization: Islinda broke his jaw.

How was that possible?

No, it should not be possible.

She was human and her hands should have fractured instead of his jaw. So how then? Perhaps the protection necklace? No, the gemstone should have shielded her from attacks, not amplified her own strength. That was not possible nor has he heard of it happening.

The only reason why the necklace had not repelled him was because he had no evil intent. The necklace could only pick up on a mental or physical attack that threatened her life, not the emotional aspect of it.

So who or what then lent her that strength? Aldric was riddled. It couldn’t be that Islinda was not human. Aldric frowned at that possibility. That can’t be. Islinda was fragile like all humans and if she was more than that, she was at the age to exhibit such abilities. Perhaps, he should ask about her age later.

"Such disgrace should not go unpunished."

An unfamiliar voice uttered from behind and Aldric turned around to see the beautiful Fae standing before him.

But to Elena’s surprise, he turned left, then right to ensure that he was being spoken to. After all, Fae was fond of running from him, not coming to him.

"Of course, Prince Aldric, I’m speaking to you." She said, smiling politely.

Aldric looked her over and said just one word, "Interesting."

"Nice to finally meet you, Prince Aldric, I’m Elena...."

"Of the Raysin family." The dark Fae prince completed the title for her. "Yes, yes, heard that, see you. Now, you can move on. My mind is busy at the moment if you don’t mind." Aldric turned the other way, dismissing her as if she wasn’t worth anything.

Elena was beyond flabbergasted. No one has ever treated her that way and that only left her more intrigued. More than ever, she wanted to conquer the dark Fae prince.

She watched Aldric looking around, as if looking for someone and she guessed he was looking for the human. Her sources told her he was quite close to the human and it doesn’t seem to be false.

"You must be looking for the human?" She attempted to start a conversation with him.

But all that met her was silence.

She did not give up and said again,

"What’s her name again? Isalanda?" She pronounced it awfully.

Aldric slowly turned to her this time, a deep scowl on his face. With his arms folded across his chest, he drawled, "If you wanted my attention, the least you could do is be respectful. Names are precious, especially for the ones under my protection."

"Oops, sorry. I didn’t know you would get angry over a simple name." She replied haughtily and yes, she was not sorry at all.

For a moment, they stared at each other, Elena did not back down until Aldric burst into laughter that left her blinking in confusion.

Aldric laughed and laughed, drawing the attention of some of the Fae close to them. They scurried away thinking the dark Fae prince had lost his mind and was about to unleash his dreadful powers.

Suddenly Aldric’s laughter ended and his expression became serious as he said, "I know your type. You think that I am broken and that you can fix me. But that’s where you are wrong, I will never change who I am for any female and you are not special at all." His nostrils flared as he drew closer, "So if I were you, I would run as far as possible while you still get because the moment I get my hands on you, I’ll spew you out without even the bones left."

He finished his threat and strode away only for Elena to say, "You did change for Tatiana."

And that did it! The comment triggered Aldric.

Aldric pivoted at once, heading for her with fury in his eyes and he looked like an angel of darkness coming to claim his promised soul. Despite his menacing approach, Elena stood her ground. However, he could smell her fear, which only fueled his menacing grin

It looked like Aldric was about to wrap his hand around her neck when she quickly said, "Faeries are watching, Aldric. Imagine what would happen if they were to think you were about to attack me."

His nostrils flared stubbornly and when she saw him call her bluff, she added, "Think about the human."

At that moment, Aldric stiffened and she saw the conflict in his eyes which made her frown. The human had much more influence on him than she thought. Aldric must have noticed her perusal because he glared at her, hardening his expression.

He snarled," Thank your gods the human is still useful to me else your head would be rolling on the ground now."

To that, Elena retorted, "What use could the human be to you that is better than mine."

Aldric scoffed, "Impress me."

Elena was the one who stepped closer, "Isn’t it time you moved on from the human and took the hands of the one who can give you what you want."

However, Aldric raised his brows as if hinting he wasn’t following or perhaps, he was simply mocking her. He was smart enough to comprehend what she meant.

Yet Elena was patient enough to state her intention.

Undeterred, she whispered into his ears, "Dear prince Aldric, I could make you king."
