Mated To The Cruel Prince
Chapter 387: Aldric Lied To Her

Chapter 387: Aldric Lied To Her

She was stuck with a psychopath.

A psychopath who desired her demise yet was oddly protective of her.

A psychopath whom she was attracted to yet had to hide whatever twisted feelings this was from him.

An attraction intertwined with danger.

She was fucked.

Royally fucked.

Islinda had told herself several times that it was because of Aldric’s face, nothing else, she has always had a thing for handsome men, except this was a Fae with an otherworldly beauty. A devastating beauty. But ever since that fling with Eli, she could not understand anymore. Her feelings were complicated and it seems she messed up by getting entangled with Eli.

She could no longer separate these confusing feelings inside of her. Does she still feel a thing for Valerie? Whenever she thought of him, there was this aching void inside of her, but that was all. If anything there were only four emotions she felt whenever she thought of him.

Anger : He tried to swap her soul. Curiosity : What went down between him and Aldric for the dark Fae prince to hate him this much?

Guilt : What would he think of her upon knowing she got intimate with Aldric and Eli.

Fear : How would she protect him from whatever Aldric has planned?

The fluttering excitement and pulse that once accompanied thoughts of Valerie had dulled, replaced by an overwhelming focus on Aldric. There was just so much space between them and everything had changed. Perhaps, it might have to do with the fact that Aldric’s face is all she sees now and if she sees him again, all the feelings would return and with it, a bit of clarity.

Maybe if she met with Valerie tonight, the fluttering butterflies in her belly would reignite and Aldric would pale in comparison. Maybe his presence would save her from Aldric’s charm. Yes, it had to. Because she was scared of herself at this point. Of her feelings.

"I don’t want this," Islinda muttered, eyeing the necklace in his hand. It was a mesmerizing gemstone, the stone radiating a soft, iridescent glow and dangling from a silver chain.

Despite the logical need for protection, her stubbornness resisted making it easy for him. She can’t make this too easy for Aldric. Deep down, she took perverse joy in testing his patience. Those tiny veins bulging in his forehead whenever she provoked him was quite a delightful feeling. He was not the only one who took pleasure in others’ misery. Islinda reveled in the power to provoke him, finding satisfaction in the subtle signs of his discomfort.

"Islinda," There was warning in Aldric’s voice and his eyes had slightly hardened. "Don’t push me."

"Let me die then." She whispered.

Dying was not an easy thing but Islinda would gladly give up her life to prevent this impending doom.

Aldric let out a mocking laughter, "You are quite a good comedian. "

Islinda had no idea where the confidence came from but she continued saying, hoping to appeal to whatever goodness she hoped was inside of him.

"All of this would be over once I’m gone. You would not have to deal with me and my ill bond with you brothers. You know I would never help you destroy Valerie and you are a coward for using an innocent human to achieve —"

Islinda gasped as he suddenly whirled her around, his hand around her throat, and her back pressed into him while their eyes connected through the mirror. Her eyes widened, and she immediately blushed, the reminiscent intimate position with Eli flashing in her mind. A thought crossed her mind – does he know?

His eyes widened at the same time, answering her question.

By the gods, he knows, Islinda’s face grew hotter upon seeing the wild heat lurking in the depths of his darkened eyes. Gods help her, had all her time spent with Eli been revealed to him? Didn’t Eli say he could hide some things from Aldric? Why would he expose this to him? Islinda was so red; it spread to her neck.

To make it worse, the unmistakable rush of heat from her core horrified Islinda. She was aroused for Aldric—for the wrong person. She had completely lost it!

Horrified, Islinda tried to get away, but Aldric held onto her with a vice like grip, as if his life depended on her at that moment.

"Don’t move...!" Aldric commanded with such authority that she didn’t dare to move. His breathing was labored, and the cold breath on the column of her neck, where he buried his nose, made her shiver.

However, that was nothing compared to when something poked her from behind, and Islinda stiffened at the spot. The poor human froze, as if the dark Fae prince had used his frost power on her, while many possibilities ran through her mind, yet it still came down to one. There was no way she just felt his...

A shriek on the verge of being ripped from her throat, and she tried to get away from him, but he wouldn’t move.

"Damn you, woman, don’t make as much as a move," he warned through gritted teeth, perspiration running down his head while he gripped her shoulder so hard it hurt. Not that she could feel a thing. Not when there were much more dire "issues." Her head was practically spiraling with thoughts.

Islinda swallowed, "I thought you said you are not susceptible to my seduction?" She still couldn’t believe it.

Aldric responded with difficulty, his chest heaving yet not lacking his sarcastic tongue, "Well, I wouldn’t be having this problem if my other half did not decide to torture me with the explicit memories of your time together for keeping you both apart, and now, I happen to stumble upon a certain fetish. I’m not a stick you know. "

Islinda said red-faced, "It is not a fetish..." And then she trailed off as something clicked in her head ’... torture me with the explicit memories of your time together for keeping you both apart...’

Anger filled Islinda...

No, he did not.

That bastard!

Aldric lied to her.
