Mated To The Cruel Prince
Chapter 288: The Delightful Feeling

Chapter 288: The Delightful Feeling

Islinda and Eli walked through the street of Astaria in comfortable silence. Although things had been a bit awkward after that conversation in the restaurant, now in the open and the bustling streets, she was more relaxed and couldn’t care less.

However, that excitement was soon cut short when someone, more like a Fae, gave her a hefty shove and she nearly fell over. Save for Eli’s quick reflexes, she would have definitely kissed the ground.

"I’m alright, I’m alright," Islinda put up a hand to stop Eli from fussing over her, a worried look on his face.

She lifted her face to see that the perpetrator Fae walked on without even an apology. Damn, the bastard. Islinda bet he did that on purpose because she was human. However, the situation was soon rectified.

All it took was a blink of an eye and the dark Fae prince went after the Fae with vengeance. Before the foolish male Fae could retaliate, Eli had already lifted him off his feet with his hand wrapped around his neck to Islinda’s horror.

Oh no, he was going to kill him!

"Aldr–" Islinda almost made the mistake of blowing his cover, since the sudden violence was more similarly akin to his host, Aldric whom she was used to.

"Eli, let him go." She begged him but her words might as well have fallen on deaf ears. Instead, his hand wrapped tighter around the Fae’s neck who had turned purple from the strangulation.

"Eli please," Islinda was desperate, noticing that they’d drawn attention as a crowd was beginning to gather. She touched his arm noticing how rigid he was and shook him slightly.

"Please, Eli, I’m fine. See?" She spun around just to confirm her perfect well-being and his intense gaze followed her.

Eli’s form was taut and he exuded a murderous energy. There was a tick in his jaw, his eyes cold and darkened with fury. Islinda feared this might provoke Aldric to surface and ruin everything.

She told him, "You said this date was so we could know each other and you didn’t want to ruin it, remember?"

Eli’s dead eyes flickered in recognition and Islinda waited anxiously for a response, her body also rigid. She prayed desperately that Aldric made the right choice. It must have been forever when he let go and the Fae crumpled in a heap on the floor. He went on all four wheezing for breath and even dared to glare at Eli. Islinda buried her face in her palm knowing this was the fool’s end.

Eli kneeled the Fae in the face and he rolled over, wincing in pain. But that was nothing compared to when the dark Fae prince stepped on his hand and the sound of bones cracking pierced through the night as he pressed down with too much force.

While the Fae screamed in pain, Eli crouched down with a sadistic look on his face, snarling under his breath, "Thank your lucky gods she doesn’t want to see blood. I dare you to touch her again and I’ll rip out your throat nonetheless,"

Eli rose to his feet, glaring murderously at the crowd as if saying the same rule applied to them and the ones standing close to Islinda quickly drew back as if she was death itself.

But he didn’t care about the crowd staring at him because he walked over to Islinda. She opened her mouth to speak only for him to grab her hand and storm out of the scene.

Islinda was a bit stunned as Eli dragged her away as if she was nothing but a child. His hold was so tight it was beginning to hurt, but Islinda did not complain and dutifully followed him. She could sense the frustration coming from Eli, knowing it had taken him a lot not to give in to his violent side and rip the insolent Fae apart.

But Islinda could not let that happen. The Fae had merely shoved and though he was rude about it, she was not hurt or anything. If she let Eli kill anyone who offended her, then the citizens of Astaria had good reasons to be scared of him.

"Eli...." Islinda called his attention when she had to double her steps to keep up with his fierce strides.

At first, it seemed like he didn’t hear her and went on, only for him to stop suddenly, dropping her hand. He wiped his palms down his face before running them through his hair.

He said to Islinda angrily, "You should have just let me kill the bastard."

"And then what? Would you kill every bastard that offends me?" She asked, slightly amused.

However, it apparently wasn’t funny to Eli because he snapped at her, "Yes, I would. They need to learn their place and cannot treat you that way."

Islinda’s face changed and she said coldly, "In that case, you might as well lock me up in your castle forever because I won’t come out and have such blood on my hands. Just so you know, there would not be a second date. Please take me back." She turned her back to him.

Islinda swallowed down the lump in her throat, fighting back the tears that threatened to fall. Everything had been going so fine only for it to be ruined. Why couldn’t she have just one day of normalcy? Why was her life so damn hard?

She stiffened when Eli wrapped his arms around her from behind without warning. However, his soothing scent washed over her and she found herself relaxing as he buried his nose in her neck, not caring that they were in the middle of the streets and Faeries passing by gave them dirty looks.

They were not the only couples around but the Faeries were probably biased because she was human. Well, they could go fuck themselves in the butthole, Islinda didn’t care anymore. Tonight was all about enjoying her time with Eli and though the damn Fae didn’t say sorry, this was his closest form of apology and she closed her eyes, relishing the delightful feeling.
