Mated To The Cruel Prince
Chapter 216: Aldric Would Lose

Chapter 216: Aldric Would Lose

"Good morning my lady, I hope you had a pleasant night." Rosalind curtsied.

Fuck.

How do you say you’re doomed without actually saying you’re doomed? That was how Islinda could describe the situation she was currently in.

The sleep vanished from her eyes the instant her bleary sight focused on the female Fae who stood before her with an impassive expression. Islinda was wide-eyed and her mouth opened and closed without a word; she was speechless.

Her worst nightmare just happened. What could she possibly say to Rosalind? That her ex-lover Valerie tried to swap her soul and force her into becoming some half-breed, but then her own lover Aldric comes in to save the night and damsel in distress. But then, because she couldn’t sleep in her room thanks to the shock of the incident, she ended up in his bed, but then things got heated pretty fast and they might have swapped saliva with Aldric giving her a jolly stimulation down there.

By the gods! She was done for!

Putting herself in Rosalind’s shoes, Islinda couldn’t even imagine accepting such a pathetic excuse, how then, could she explain to Rosalind that this was a mistake? Except if Islinda were, to be honest, this was no mistake. She had been compliant with what happened between her and Aldric last night and she feared this wouldn’t be the last time.

Islinda had no idea where to start, should she admit her mistake and ask for her apology? Rosalind looked like the understanding type and the Fae couldn’t deny the fact that her lover Aldric was obsessed with her – Islinda. This was one of the reasons Islinda needed to escape. They couldn’t let their plans go to waste because of this incident. When she successfully escapes, she - Rosalind - can have Aldric to herself.

By then, she would no longer come between them, and Rosalind and Aldric could live happily ever after. She doesn’t care one bit. All that mattered was getting away from Aldric before this sizzling sexual attraction between them turned into something else and he ruined her. Perhaps, this was happening because she hadn’t had sex for a while, not to mention, currently heartbroken from Valerie’s betrayal.

Unfortunately, there were no males to test that theory on except Issac and the Fae in question was off-limits. Not that Islinda could ever imagine doing it with Issac. It felt repulsive almost as if thinking of incest with an older brother. Nope, not happening. Not that she could cross Maxie. She was as good as dead if she dared it.

The tension in the room was becoming unbearable and Islinda wanted to scream. This was too much. The guilt was like a heavyweight in her heart and it was beginning to pull her down like a drowning ship at sea while her tongue felt like lead and she couldn’t make a sentence. Thankfully, before she could say a word, the door swung open, and in came Aurelia and her entourage.

"Oh, here you are!" Aurelia chipped, ignorant of the tension between the both of them.

"My lady," Rosalind had no choice but to step back so Aurelia could approach her and the Fae curtsied.

"Aurelia," Islinda said breathily, taking in the much-needed air into her lungs that she had been depriving herself of ever since the shock of seeing Rosalind.

Her pounding heart like galloping horses began to slow down now that there were more Faeries in the room and Rosalind could not confront her anymore. Although she avoided Rosalind’s gaze and put on a tight smile for the others.

"When I found your bed empty, I knew without a doubt that you would be here," Aurelia said and Islinda did a double take.

She had no idea if Rosalind was being professional or blatantly turning a blind eye to what was going on. How was it not weird and shocking that she was in Aldric’s bed when he had a lover called Rosalind standing right beside her? On the bright side, the Fae was not being judgemental, which was a good thing, right?

The point is, Aurelia was supposed to find this setting uncomfortable and if possible rebuke her for trying to come between Rosalind and Aldric - even though technically, it was not her place to say so. Aldric was a full-grown Fae, an old man - in human age - capable of taking care of the consequences of his actions. It was just the guilt getting to Islinda.

Poor Rosalind, she stole a brief look at her. The Fae must be feeling miserable and it was all because of her.

"I’m sorry, but we have to move quickly, my lady. We have Prince Aldre coming over to the castle and Prince Aldric has demanded you join them for breakfast."

Wonderful, Aldric couldn’t even give her space to process what happened between them last night. She didn’t like this and needed space between them, but what could she do? She was a prisoner in this castle.

"Chop chop! There’s no more time!" Aurelia ushered two Faeries with a hand gesture and they approached her with soft smiles and helped her off the bed before she could protest.

Everything happened so quickly that Islinda had no time to say any more words to Rosalind. She only mouthed the word, "I’m sorry," to her as the Faeries dragged her to her room to get dressed up. Nor could she tell what Rosalind was thinking with her impassive face and tense body language. She was angry no doubt.

Perhaps, this breakfast was a good distraction. She would meet Rosalind later and by then, the Fae must have calmed down and she would be able to listen to her explanation. They would be have a reasonable conversation and perhaps, plot how to quicken their plans.

Yesterday’s incident proved she could not trust Valerie anymore and possibly, there was no more future between them. But Aldric does not believe that and is hell-bent she is worth more to Valerie than he lets on.

But once she vanished, Aldric would lose, right?
