Mated To The Cruel Prince
Chapter 195: Sympathy For You

Chapter 195: Sympathy For You

"Don’t look at me that way,"

"What?" Islinda was surprised, "I don’t understand."

He drew close, looming over her, and growled with ferocity, "Don’t look at me that way as if you understand what I have been through...."His voice went up a notch," As if you know what it’s like to be a dark Fae! As if you had a mother that hated you so much the last breath she took was to curse you to never take the throne!"

There was a tense silence after he confessed that and Islinda’s mouth fell open, wide-eyed. His mother cursed him not to take his throne? She couldn’t believe it. Islinda had so many questions going through her mind but she realized that this wasn’t the time for it.

While Aldric pretended to be tough and unaffected, she could see the pained grief in his eyes. What child wouldn’t be left broken with such treatment from the mother? He was hurting so much that it made her heart arched. Perhaps, she shouldn’t have asked for the truth in the first place. But there was no way she wouldn’t have found out about the truth in one way or the other.

Islinda opened her mouth to speak but the words failed her. However, she gathered her courage in the end and said, "You’re right, I don’t know what you have been through, Aldric. But I can sympathize with -"

"Who told you I needed your sympathy?"

"What?"

"Who are you to feel sympathy for me? You are nothing but a lowly human that I could get rid of even with my eyes? So what’s the worth of your sympathy? How dare you look down on me?"

"You have my words wrong, Aldric, I would never look down on you," Islinda wanted to explain but the malevolence he exuded made her blood run cold and that assurance that he wouldn’t hurt her faded away with the wind.

Islinda took a step back, feeling much more insecure now.

The magic that pulsed from his body felt evil and Aldric looked like he had fully embraced his dark side and wouldn’t mind hurting her just because he could do so - and would do so.

Islinda’s gaze moved to the door, wondering what was taking Rosalind so long. Not that Rosalind could stop Aldric from doing whatever he wanted with her, but the Fae could provide her a chance to escape from the dark prince that has lost his damn mind. He had no reason to take out his anger on her.

Realizing that no one was saving her anytime soon, Islinda made a move, only that Aldric predicted it, and he was faster than her. He grabbed her by the throat and she began to claw at him, leaving scratch marks on his skin yet he did not release her.

Aldric sneered in her face, "Where are you going, Islinda? Why are you running so soon? Didn’t you say you sympathize with me? Now, sympathize with this monster."

She glared at him while trying to loosen his grip which didn’t hurt as much as it should. He just held on firmly. But Islinda refused to believe Aldric was being kind in this situation, he was probably holding back his strength and stopping himself from snapping her neck.

"Let go of me, bastard."

"Make me. the great sympathizer," He dared her, relishing her helplessness.

Before Islinda could think, her hand whipped him across his face so hard that her palm hurt. Aldric felt that because his head snapped to the side before he slowly faced her and the murderous look in his eyes told Islinda that she just messed up.

Welp.

All Islinda could do was scream as Aldric lifted her off her feet without breaking a sweat and placed her on the table they had been previously standing on, parting her thighs and situated himself in between her legs.

Islinda felt heat rush to her face and thank the gods she was wearing pants. At first, she struggled with him, not knowing what he intended to do to her, none of it seemed positive. However, she stopped fighting and gave in to her fate.

"Fine, do whatever you want. Prove to me you are the monster that your mother made you out to be," She said with resignation.

Aldric froze upon hearing her words and the both of them stared at each other. Islinda breathed heavily, her chest heaving from the exertion of struggling with the dark prince. Aldric did not seem to be doing better either, his hair was mussed, with a few curls falling over his right ear. The deep scratch marks the feral human gave him began to heal and she was a witness to such wonder.

The air suddenly shifted and the once murderous tension vanished, replaced by a sizzling ambiance none of them saw coming. Aldric’s eyes darkened and she saw his pupils dilate while her own heart began to race with anticipation as the nearness and heat between them fed into the sexual tension.

Islinda tried to pretend there was nothing between them, but you couldn’t play with fire and desired not to be burned. Aldric tongue jutted out and licked across her busted lips and though it wasn’t a full kiss, she felt a thrill and it traveled straight to her core.

However, the most captivating moment was the way Aldric’s gaze glazed over after tasting her blood, throwing his head back and moaning shamelessly as if her blood was a drug he couldn’t help but get addicted to. And he wasn’t even a bloodsucker.

When he looked at her again, his beautiful deep blue eyes were so deep and enthralling that she couldn’t help but want to stare at them forever until the door opened abruptly and Aldric got off her faster than her eyes could see.

Before Islinda could get off the table and on her feet, Aldric was already heading towards the door. He said to the healer, "Treat her."

Then he left while her mind was still reeling from everything.

What just happened?
