Mated To The Cruel Prince
Chapter 129: Source Of Amusement To Them

Chapter 129: Source Of Amusement To Them

"Isn’t this dress a little too much?" Islinda asked, tugging on the neckline as she squirmed like a fish out of water.

Not that she didn’t like the dress, by the gods, it was the most breathtaking clothes she had ever worn, and that was the problem. It was too flashy and called for attention. The last thing she wanted to do was intrigue two other Fae’s she knew nothing about.

"There’s nothing of that nature, my lady," Aurelia said as she fastened the matching cape whose brooch was made of diamond around her neck.

By the gods, was that real diamond? Oh no, it can’t be. But then, Islinda knew inwardly that the prince was rich enough to own such treasure. Oh no, she fanned her face with her hands, suddenly feeling heady. It was too late.

"It’s winter, my lady, and your wardrobe has been changed for the season," Aurelia said and Islinda didn’t dare ask to see them because if they were anything close to this dress, then she was going to faint.

She did nothing to deserve this kind of treatment. She was a murderer who killed her sister, even though it was practically self-defense, but she doomed the others to the same fate by asking Aldric for help - even though she had no idea what he was capable of at that time. Islinda just had not forgiven herself for the outcome she had completely no control over and it gnawed at her conscience once in a while.

"Thank you," She ran her hand through her braid, courtesy of Aurelia, "It’s just that I feel overdressed for a simple occasion."

Aurelia laughed at her as if she were nothing but an ignorant child, "You’re not at all, my lady. In case you haven’t noticed, Prince Aldric is quite competitive and with his brothers around for a visit, he would want you to exhibit the opulence, beauty, and mystery of the winter court."

"Well, if you put it that way then," Islinda gave in at last.

"We should leave," Aurelia said when Islinda requested,

"About that, can Rosalind join me?"

"Huh?" The Fae’s head whipped in her direction, stunned. Throughout the whole time, Rosalind had kept her head down and she seemed to have kept out of her way ever since that day she declined her services.

Even Aurelia looked surprised by her request, however, she quickly composed herself. However Islinda could still sense her happiness as she said, "Why not, my lady? As you demand."

And that was how they walked down the hall with Rosalind trailing behind. Islinda suddenly found it childish the way she had spurned the young Fae all because she didn’t like her - and perhaps was a little bit jealous. Rosalind was beautiful, you know and she might have felt a little intimidated.

But that was not going to happen anymore. She would match Rosalind and Aldric together even if it was for her own selfish interest. No, this alliance was going to benefit both of them. If Rosalind could melt Aldric’s cold heart, she would convince him to let her go. Who wouldn’t do anything to please the Fae female he loves?

However, that plan of hers disappeared into nothing the instant she walked into the dining hall, and three different sets of eyes shot toward her, pinning her at the spot.

What in the Fae....

Islinda swallowed, wishing the ground would open up and swallow her. She wavered under the intensity of their looks. Even her escorts Aurelia and Rosalind didn’t know what to do with the attention either, waiting behind for her response.

The Fae whore was the one who stood.

Not Aldric, the first Fae whore, but his brother Andre, the second Fae whore, she named them accordingly in her head.

Her heart pounded in her chest the time it took him to get to her and by the gods, she could now understand why Aldric warned her to be careful around his brother. Andre was deliciously handsome, like a combination of cute and masculinity at the same time, a perfect blend.

"My lady," He said, his sexy lips lifting slightly and Islinda felt her ovaries leap in joy. She wouldn’t mind having his baby.

No, Islinda shuddered at the ridiculous thought. What was happening to her? Did this Fae whore cast a spell on her, but she didn’t feel the familiar tingle, hence this was all her body’s doing.

"You look like an epitome of beauty, may I?" He reached out for her hand and Islinda had to nervously rub her palms clammy with sweat down her dress before putting it in his.

His enticing smell of woodsmoke and apples reached her nose when he lowered his head, stimulating her senses. He turned her hand and Islinda held her breath as he pressed his sexy lips to her palm, kissing it a little too long and causing her heart to race fast. Islinda thought she would have a heart attack.

She could finally tell what Andre reminded her of, an incubus demon. A male demon who is a seducer and preys on women during their sleep. Except this was reality and she had already fallen under his spell and he knew that.

However, what happened next stunned Islinda because a wave of black magic lashed out at Andre and he spun out of the way with her in his arms. Aurelia and Rosalind shrieked and dodged on time and Islinda swallowed when she saw a crack on the wall from where the magic had impacted.

She swallowed, that could have been them. No, her. Islinda was perfectly sure Andre would have been fine. But not her. She turned to look at Andre with trepidation and sure enough, his dark, stormy look was enough to extinguish any form of attraction she held for his brother. The lust stuttered and never to alight again.

"What was that for, brother?" He asked lightly for someone who was attacked.

Surprisingly, Instead of Aldric, Theodore answered, "You might as well have taken her right in front of us, fool."

Andre burst into laughter and Islinda realized to her indignation that this was fun to him. She was a source of amusement to these creatures.

Anger flared inside of her. At once, Islinda ripped her hand out of his grasp and pushed him away, her face flush with embarrassment and outrage.

Thanks to her display, Theodore burst into hearty laughter, almost slipping from his seat as he mocked his brother,

"Guess, someone’s charm isn’t as potent as before."

Islinda’s cheeks burned with shame for being at the receiving end of their pranks.

She hated the brothers.

If only they weren’t so handsome....
