Mated To The Cruel Prince -
Chapter 110: Aldric Was Going To Break Her
Chapter 110: Aldric Was Going To Break Her
Islinda had spent half of the night thinking and eventually fell asleep yet woke up the next morning in a very sour mood. The memory of the night was raw in her head and left her burning with fury the next day.
And while it was obvious that her anger was directed at Aldric, she could not understand why. Was it the fact that it didn’t cross her mind that a monster like him had sexual needs and got them satisfied somewhere or that she caught him in bed with another Fae - more attractive than her - literally minutes after he flirted and suggested the same thing with her?
What a Fae whore!
Islinda knew she shouldn’t feel this way. It’s not like Aldric should have any form of royalty towards her, they were not in a relationship and she did not like him anyway! Yet the anger coursed through her veins and when she caught sight of Rosalind in her room, it flared.
She could not forget the look of utter pleasure on her face when she came beneath Aldric last night. Rosalind reminded her of what she once had with Valerie and it left her extremely bitter and jealous.
Was Rosalind and Aldric in a relationship? She had no idea. But the dark prince didn’t seem like the type to commit to a relationship else he wouldn’t be flirting with her. Or was it Fae culture not to commit to one partner.
Or perhaps, he was really a whore considering Valerie had been faithful to her during their time, albeit how brief it was. Maybe their relationship was casual? Was that why he had the effrontery to suggest that she joined them?
Islinda glared so intently at the fae that even Aurelia noticed the tension crackling in the air.
"Is anything wrong, my lady?" Aurelia asked as she settled into the bath.
"I don’t want her...." Islinda winced, rubbing her temple, "No, them in here with me." She paraphrased her words, realizing it would be suspicious if she singled out only Rosalind.
It crossed her mind that Rosalind did nothing wrong. She was an adult Fae and it was none of Islinda’s business what she did with her body and with whom. But what she had done with Aldric last night grossed her out and Islinda did not want her hands on her. Not to mention, she never liked Rosalind in the first place and no, it was not jealousy speaking!
However, even with Islinda withholding the information, Aurelia’s knowing gaze shifted to Rosalind who dropped her gaze to the ground. The warning she saw there almost made it seem like she - Islinda - was not supposed to know of her tryst.
It then crossed Islinda’s mind that everyone in this household must know of Rosalind’s affairs with the prince. That is if Rosalind was the only Fae that spends time in Aldric’s bed. Islinda shuddered at the thought of Aurelia on Aldric’s bed. No, it just didn’t match.
Islinda was new to this world and knew relatively nothing. As much as it hurt her ego to admit it, Aldric was right, she was a clueless sheep in a den of wolves. She knew nothing about the Fae and their practices, and after the shocking revelations and incident last night, she was way over her head in this realm. To survive in the Fae world, she needed information quickly.
"Easy," Aurelia whispered, coaxing her when she almost jumped out of her skin at the Fae’s touch that had roused her to reality.
Islinda eventually relaxed when she realized it was just her and Rosalind and the other Fae had left as instructed.
She sighed and leaned back against the wooden tub. Her eyes closed instinctively when Aurelia’s hands dug into her hair and worked her scalp. The sensation was so heavenly that a moan escaped her lips.
"You seem more tense today, my lady," Aurelia commented while messaging her scalp.
Islinda sighed, closing her eyes and relishing the treatment. While she was against someone else touching her body and bathing a grown-up like her, she had to admit that the scalp massage was worth it. She could sleep off at this point and not know it.
Aurelia kept speaking as she worked, "I know that this place has not been easy on you, but give it time and you will get used to it."
"Yes, time is all I have," Islinda muttered sarcastically, half asleep.
After seeing the Fae’s high healing ability last night, Islinda realized she was living a long life - if Aldric didn’t kill her. The twisted prince claims she’s his slave and yet she’s treated like royalty. What does being his slave entail anyway?
Would she ever have the privilege to settle down in the later years with a Fae kind enough to marry her or would she serve him like a monk in the human realm till she dies? Doesn’t her contract with him ever expire? Islinda had a lot of questions with no answer.
Aurelia went on to say, "The prince is bad, but not entirely heartless as the Faeries make him out to be. He has his moments too."
And of that, Islinda could affirm.
Aldric had saved her from that mysterious, magical, and horrific man-eating plant. That had melted away some of the resentment towards him. But at the same time, it reminded her that she couldn’t put down her defenses in front of Aldric.
It was a feeling deep within and it warned her that the dark prince was going to hurt her. Aldric was not Valerie. At least with Valerie, he recognized guilt, but Aldric was going to break her and not realize it.
"How long have you been working for Aldric?" Islinda couldn’t help but ask, realizing the way Aurelia hesitated before she picked up once again.
"A few decades," She answered lightly.
Islinda swallowed at her answer. A few decades and she hasn’t lost her mind? Islinda still had no idea how she would survive the months with Aldric, not to talk of years and the rest of her life.
"So he was chased out of the palace years ago?" Islinda tactically pried for information, not that the fae gave out much.
"Mmmhmm," She said.
"Why do they call him the dark prince? Is it because he’s a dark Fae? What does a dark Fae mean?"
At this point, Aurelia stiffened and while Islinda could not see her features, she had a feeling the blood had drained from her face.
Aurelia hurriedly began to bath her,
"I’m sorry my lady, but I believe some questions are better left unanswered or you can ask the source, which I advise not to."
"Why? Is being a Dark Fae a bad thing?" Islinda was intrigued now.
"Do not use that word carelessly while in the Fae realm," Aurelia urged her out of the bath, "And come on, my lady, let’s get you dressed up for breakfast with the prince."
"What breakfast?!" Islinda whirled around so quickly she almost suffered a whiplash, her eyes wide.
"No," She shook her head stubbornly, "I am not having any breakfast with him. Tell Aldric I am not joining him and he can get lost for all I care."
Aurelia grimaced, "Trust me, my lady, you don’t really have an option in this."
