Chapter 346: A suspicious person
On the other side, in Jeren’s house—
"Boss, when are you gonna tell Silas that he is your son?" Jeren’s assistant said while making coffee.
"It’s not the time to tell him now. When the right time comes, I will tell him," Jeren said. He was sitting on the sofa while working on his laptop.
"And I have found the information you told me to search for last time."
"Tell me."
Jeren had told his assistant to find out which woman he had slept with 18 years ago, the one who gave birth to his twin sons.
When his assistant searched, he found something suspicious: 18 years ago, when Jeren was in a hotel because of his rut cycle, an omega girl visited him in that room.
But she never came in front of Jeren. She simply left the room without even meeting him. That’s what the assistant saw in the CCTV footage.
From her image and the footage, they searched her background and found out that she was Silas’s mother, who had married the Alpha of the Ironclaw Pack.
And from the information they had gathered, it was clear that Silas’s supposed father already knew that those boys were not his sons.
There was only one explanation: that omega girl had deliberately gone into Jeren’s room to get pregnant. And then she ran away—because her pack had arranged her marriage with the Ironclaw Pack’s Alpha.
But the main question was—why had she never come to Jeren, to tell him to take responsibility, even though she had gone into his room?
Instead, she stayed silent, married another Alpha, and gave birth to Jeren’s children. Even that Alpha knew they were Jeren’s kids, and after she died, everything changed.
"Boss, I’ve heard many things—that so-called father never treated young master Silas and Orian nicely. He even abandoned young master Orian. All he ever loved was that Ciel."
Jeren stopped working upon hearing that. He clenched his fists and gritted his teeth in anger.
"How dare that bastard! I will kill him! Whoever hurts my sons—I’m not gonna let them go."
"And because of yesterday’s incident, don’t you think, Boss, that the young master’s life is in danger?"
Jeren sighed. "I know that. But if I take a step forward to protect Silas, it would seem wrong, like last time—because no one knows right now that Silas is my son. Even Silas himself doesn’t know yet."
"So, we’ll have to take one step at a time. Send bodyguards after Silas and Orian. Their safety is most important. And my son Silas seems to love that kid Velric, so I won’t separate them either."
Just then, Jeren’s mobile rang. As it did, he grabbed it and answered. But after picking up the call, his whole expression changed. It became cold.
"What happened, Boss?"
"Prepare the car right now. We need to leave," Jeren ordered.

When Silas, Atlas, and Shine were talking, they didn’t know that someone else was also there, listening to them.
That person was sitting just a little ahead of them, like any normal customer. But in fact, he was spying on them.
"Then Silas, are you gonna terminate the contract with Mr. Damon or not?" Shine asked.
"I will, as I told you before. And I’ll go to Mr. Jeren’s company. That’s for sure," Silas replied.
"And when are you gonna get a new mobile? It’s good that I had Theron’s number and called him. No matter how much I was calling or messaging you, there was no reply. But when I called Theron, I found out that your phone had been lost," Shine said.
"Soon enough. But I don’t know when," Silas replied. While saying that, he noticed a person who was sitting ahead of them, behind Atlas and Shine. That person slightly looked back and then turned again to face forward.
Silas felt something strange. He didn’t realize right away that the person was a spy. That’s why he just glanced at him while talking—wondering whether the man was listening or what he was really doing there. Was he actually eating something, or just pretending?
"What are you thinking, Silas?" Atlas asked.
"Nothing. I’m just thinking about what we should eat next. But before that, I want to use the restroom. So, excuse me," Silas said as he stood up.
After standing, he started to walk toward the restroom in the corner. As he walked, he glanced at the man’s table.
There was a coffee cup on the table—untouched. And the man was busy with his mobile. He was just sitting there.
Silas realized that when he had first entered the café, he had seen this man already sitting there. It had been a long time now, and still, the man hadn’t touched his coffee. As if he were just there to eavesdrop.
Silas had some doubts about him. Still, he went into the restroom, and a few minutes later, he came out. But when he returned, the man was gone. The coffee was still there—untouched, in exactly the same condition.
Seeing that, Silas’s heart skipped a beat—like something bad was about to happen. He quickly reached the table and saw Velric sitting there, looking around, while Shine and Atlas were smiling at him.
"Ohh, Silas, you’re here!"
"Yes. But did you guys see where the man went—the one who was sitting right behind you?"
Hearing him, they both glanced back. Atlas hadn’t noticed anything either. He was a bodyguard, still—
"No, we didn’t see anyone sitting behind us. Or we just didn’t pay attention, I think," Atlas said, and Shine nodded in agreement.
When Silas sat down, Velric touched his hand, which made Silas look at him. And Velric was looking at him with innocent eyes.
"Yes, Velric?"
"Mumma, I saw the man you were asking about. He smiled at me before leaving. He was nice uncle" velric said smilingly.
Hearing that, Silas pulled Velric closer, took him onto his lap, and glanced around—but there was no one. He felt nervous.
