Just then, Master Jing came down from upstairs, first stretching lazily before his gaze landed on a certain little guy who was diligently practicing his horse stance. He chuckled and said, "Hang in there, today your brother here is on leave, and I’ll take you out for a stroll in the afternoon."

"Thank you, Uncle Jing." The two kids chorused, almost causing Jing Youlan to tumble down the stairs.

I told you not to call me uncle, yet here we are!

Mu Lin chuckled, and Jing Youlan walked over to Mu Lin’s side and said, "Sister-in-law, do you want to come with us?" It was true that Mu Lin seldom went out shopping, and it seemed like it had been a long time since she’d been out for a proper stroll.

Mu Lin shook her head, "I’d rather not go, just call some other people to join you." The ’other people’ Mu Lin meant were of course Jing Youlan’s former nefarious friends, now his comrades.

Zhou Yicen and his brother, along with Ji Shubai, had their own things to do and thus no time to come out. As for the girls... well, they were finally home for a bit, so they weren’t called.

Especially Yue Qiao, they reckoned Zhou Yicen was probably at Yue Qiao’s house helping her keep Grandma Qiao company.

Master Jing felt like his luck with women had somehow gotten worse! What was going on here?

"Uncle Jing, where are we going to play later?" In the car, Nuonuo asked Jing Youlan, with a twinkle of excitement in his big eyes.

Shooting sounded great, shooting meant she could get lots of gifts; Xiaoyue thought this was her favorite activity.

In truth, the ’shooting’ Nuonuo referred to was not with real guns but rather going somewhere to shoot balloons. Master Jing made it clear he wasn’t looking to get beaten up by his brother.

The old man and his brother had both instructed that Nuonuo was too young to handle real guns and that it would be another two or three years at least.

Although Jing Chen had let the little ones handle guns before, it was merely for assembly, and even for target practice, they used realistic toy guns instead. Because it wasn’t fun at home, Jing Youlan had previously taken the little ones to the streets to shoot balloons, but unexpectedly, the kid had developed a fondness for it.

Nuonuo declared that winning gifts for his sister made her happy and him happier; a win-win, of course, he liked it.

It seemed like a ’sister-protector’ was gradually growing up. What a handful he’d be when he got older.

The group arrived at the shooting range, and Jing Youlan didn’t expect to encounter his little nemesis, "Enemy’s road is narrow indeed! Can’t believe on my rare day off, on my rare outing, I’d run into this person I can’t get along with."

"How come you guys are here?" Gong Yu looked at Jing Youlan, her expression showing some surprise.

Shouldn’t they be at the military base? Could it be they had a holiday?

Looking at her, Master Jing replied arrogantly, "If you can be here, why can’t I be here?"

Glancing at someone, Gong Yu’s face showed disbelief, "...I can’t be bothered with you." He never knew how to respond properly, then she turned to Nuonuo and Xiaoyue, "Nuonuo, Xiaoyue, Auntie has missed you so much!" It had been over two weeks since her last visit to the Jing’s, and she had planned to visit this weekend.

Behind her, the unfamiliar girl watched the two little kids with joy, "Little Yuyu, your little nephew and niece are so beautiful." She had never seen such beautiful children before.

"Aren’t they?" Gong Yu said boastfully, releasing the protesting kids. She looked as proud as if they were her own.

Jing Youlan retorted, "Stop showing off, even if you do, they’re not yours. If you dare, have a couple of your own!" He said with a provocative edge in his voice.

Gong Yu gritted her teeth but laughed instead of getting angry, stood up, and gave Jing Youlan a mocking smile as she approached, "I’d like to, but how can I have kids on my own? Perhaps, should I have them with you?"

Upon hearing this, Jing Youlan choked as if he had seen a ghost, watching Gong Yu with disbelief. Those nearby covered their mouths to stifle their laughter as the two little kids also giggled at the pair.

However, Gong Yu’s next words caught Jing Youlan even more off guard.

Gong Yu smiled faintly, the mockery in her eyes turning into disdain as she looked at Jing Youlan, "But then, I don’t think you could have children as beautiful, adorable, outstanding, and delicate as these, so never mind. When I find a man like that, I’ll have kids just to show you."
