Chapter 916: Chapter 601 I’m Here to Return the Favor (Part 1)

With a snap, the lights blazed like broad daylight, opening eyes filled with intense desire. After adjusting to the harsh light and turning her head reflexively, she let out a terrified scream upon seeing Mu Lin and his somewhat casual group not far ahead of her.

Of course, it was the woman who screamed.

"Stop screaming, no one is going to come to your rescue even if you break the sky with your cries." This is the villa area, and between the villas with their grand driveways and gardens, no one would hear her. Rubbing their ears, the expressions of Ying Sun and his group were full of disgust. Damn it, her yelling was just too unpleasant to hear.

Not to mention, she wasn’t that great looking either.

Plus, they weren’t there to rob her of her chastity, so why the terrified screams? Was their taste really that low? They had half-expected to walk in on some astonishing scene, but it turned out to be nothing special.

It was indeed a bit disappointing!

Don’t tolerate immoral acts.

They were pure people! Was there anyone purer than the men from their unit? Still bachelors after all these years. Sigh... If there were more people like them, they probably wouldn’t even need to think about getting married.

"Don’t mind us," Wu Ya began to spew nonsense nonchalantly, grinning from ear to ear. "We don’t mind waiting for you to finish before we talk." They were quite patient actually, just thinking of it as a free show to watch, even though it was a bit hard on the eyes—but hey, at least it was live and didn’t require peering through a screen.

There was another point, of course.

Chucking lightly, "After all... the effects of certain ’substances’ you took haven’t worn off yet." He ruthlessly exposed the truth, causing Yu Xiongman’s face to darken further as he tried to guess the identities of these intruders.

Sanqiu curled his lips: "Obviously." They had no idea how the investigation went, nor how they got to this place.

"So, knowing who I am, you still dare to break in here? Do you not value your lives?" He threatened outright, "Be careful, or I’ll make sure all of you end up in the bureau with no hope of ever getting out."

Well, well, calling him fat just makes him heave—one has to admire that. Standing up to so many of them; he must wonder who gave him such courage.

What a pity though!

"You were right about one thing, Yu. We really are a bunch who aren’t afraid of death and certainly not of that so-called threat." After all, some people just aren’t that capable; nevertheless, "If you want our lives or anything else, you’d better have the ability to take them." If he didn’t have that ability, he couldn’t blame them for anything.

He could only blame his own choices.

Yu Xiongman clenched his teeth as he coldly surveyed the group before him, "What exactly do you want here, what’s your motive! I can give you money, just leave immediately, and I’ll have it transferred to you tomorrow." All he wanted was these people to vanish from his sight as soon as possible.

To settle the score, they could do that tomorrow; once this was over, he didn’t believe he couldn’t handle these men.

Meanwhile, someone from his side was still puffing and panting in arrogance.

"Looks like Yu’s savings are rather ample," Wu Ya casually picked up a small ornament from the side, playing with it in his hand, "If I remember correctly, Yu, your monthly salary is just a few thousand yuan. With so many of our guys here, do you think your income is enough even to fill the gaps between our teeth?" That wouldn’t even cover his own meal costs.

And just like that, the conversation had turned to robbery.

Though that wasn’t what he intended to rob.

"How much do you want?" Yu Xiongman gritted his teeth, staring coldly at the people in front of him. Unfortunately, the distance was a bit too far to make out their facial features. Even though Mu Lin and his group were not wearing masks—there was simply no need for them to.

After all, they weren’t exactly ’bad guys’... well, more or less.

"We have a total of one, two, three, four, five... not many, just eleven people; I don’t ask for much, seeing as I’m a man easily satisfied. You just give eleven million for each of us to spend as we please, and that’s good enough for me." See, they were so easily ’bought’ over—just eleven million a head.

Hearing Wu Ya’s words, all of Ying Sun’s group turned to look at him in unison.

Tycoon, huh! Remember to treat them next time; they’ll definitely take the chance to fleece him properly.

Wu Ya: ... Are there such brothers who rob like this? Can’t you see I’m bluffing?

"What did you say!" Yu Xiongman was shocked, "Eleven million per person, do you think I run a bank?"

"Aren’t you, Yu, just like owning a bank anyway," Jing Youlan scoffed, continuing, "Being able to afford a villa here for your mistress, those few tens of millions are nothing to you, no way you can’t afford it."

"Plus, this seemingly simple purifying bottle looks antique at first glance." Wu Ya chimed in again, seemingly entranced by the purifying bottle he kept fiddling with, "This thing alone is worth tens of millions in the market value... and I see several similar-priced items in this room."

As he said this, Wu Ya’s face grew colder, "Am I right, Yu?"

Just perfect, Wu Ya had been studying ancient items both before and after joining the military, a hobby and a passion for him.

Who would have thought, the man before them shared the same "hobby."

Almost anything from this small room was worth a fortune.

How much had he embezzled? No one could imagine.

All they knew was that today, no matter what, they would deal with this scum of the earth; if not, they would be letting themselves down, and even more so... those who toiled at the bottom.

At this moment, other than Mu Lin, everyone from Ying Sun was consumed with unbridled rage.

Ignorance is bliss, they say, but one look and they were utterly shocked!

It wasn’t that they hadn’t heard about such things, but they never imagined it could be this severe – the sight was just too overwhelming.

"Heh, are you joking?" Unfortunately, the other party was neither buying it nor admitting it, "It’s just a counterfeit after all."

Wu Ya’s lips curled, "Oh, really? So I was joking." No sooner had the words left his mouth than the vase in his hand shattered to pieces, there lying amidst the wreckage, "Oops, my apologies, I slipped; but since it’s just a fake, I hope you won’t mind too much. I was just having a ’little’ bit of fun with you! What’s the big deal? I can always buy another ’counterfeit’ for you, right?"

To tell the truth, Wu Ya really did regret it, for it was an antique.

Oh, his precious beloved.

Everyone looked at Wu Ya, surprised to see that he too had moments of sly anger; they could see his genuine pain.

The crowd was amused, thinking if you’re so heartbroken, why did you smash it? That was money you broke, money they could never earn in a lifetime.

"You." After the vase was broken, the other person almost jumped up from the bed, "Breaking into a house, what exactly do you want?"

"You’re not here to rob us." At this point, Yu Xiongman had caught on: Mu Lin and his team had not broken in for money, as they were willing to destroy something as valuable as that vase, "Who are you really, and what do you want?" By now, Yu Xiongman was starting to panic.

He wasn’t afraid of being robbed; he had plenty of money, and resolving disasters with cash was sometimes normal. But if it was for something else, or if it was a matter of life and death...

"Click."

Suddenly, the sound of a photo being taken echoed, and Yang Yuebin’s lips curled up leisurely, with a wicked smile, "Tsk tsk tsk... Yu, are you sure you want to keep talking to us like this? Not that we mind," he said while checking the photo on his phone.

But really... seeing certain people with bodies like pigs, it made them feel queasy.

They really thought they were running a pig farm here.

Also, "Don’t even think about calling the police or asking for help, because that will only hasten the end of your life."

"What did you do?" Before he could recover from their words, he heard the unmistakable sound of the camera click, someone seemed genuinely frightened—such pictures, if released, could stain his reputation forever.

He couldn’t and wouldn’t allow such a thing to happen.

Without hesitation, he pushed the woman on him aside and quickly dressed himself. As for the woman, by now she was completely terrified, pulled up the blanket after being shoved aside, and curled into a corner, just hoping not to be implicated.

She was young and wanted to live many more years.

After getting dressed, he got off the bed and stood still, not making any moves.

"Come over and sit down." A cold voice reached his ears, and Yu Xiongman shivered slightly. The woman leading the group was unexpected.

He frowned slightly.

In Yu Xiongman’s heart, this was also why he had so many mistresses; never once did he imagine he could be threatened by a woman one day.

This made him frown.

However, as he approached and saw Mu Lin’s almost smiling, exquisitely beautiful face, he froze, "How could it be you!" Words of disbelief escaped him.

He probably never imagined that after his plot had failed, his opponent would have the audacity to come knocking for revenge.

After all, there had been failures before, but a failure was just that, no big deal.

But today.

Mu Lin’s lips curled, "Nice to meet you, my name is Mu Lin."

"I don’t think we are strangers, after all, Yu has sent quite a few people to greet me in advance; and today... I am here to return the favor."
