Chapter 905: Chapter 595: Just a Woman (Part 1)
That evening, Mu Lin and Jing Chen returned home. As their cars passed through downtown, they exchanged a silent, knowing glance.
"It looks like the little bug has shown up." Tsk tsk, talk of Cao Cao and Cao Cao arrives.
"Just let it be." Isn’t it said to let nature take its course?
I heard that those above have lost their patience with some unseen little bugs and want to deal with them. Seems like there’s going to be quite a show.
However, why would someone this time pick such...short-sighted people? Just like some others, tracking us, are you sure you don’t want to find someone with a bit of...hmm, brains?
Being discovered the moment they came out, Mu Lin expressed that this was truly the first time she had encountered such a weak opponent.
She really didn’t want to criticize, but were she and Jing Chen truly so...useless?
Behind them, certain short-sighted people in a couple of cars followed Mu Lin and Jing Chen almost step by step.
"Are we going to make a move?" At a moment when people were scarce, why not just take these two down right here and complete our mission? Even if we can’t take them, just killing that woman would do.
"Are you stupid?" The person next to him glanced at him, "Did you forget the warning from above? If that Mr. Jing is there, we can’t make a move. Otherwise, it’s tantamount to seeking death." If they fell into his hands, it would definitely implicate the Organization.
Have you not heard of that old man’s reputation?
If we approach now, it would be courting death. He wasn’t that "foolish."
There’s a saying that commoners should not compete with officials. More so, we are criminals and they are law enforcers; blatantly courting death is just foolish!
Looks like some people do realize they are "foolish"!
Unfortunately, the person next to him wasn’t so easily convinced, "Are we just supposed to follow them? After all, we have seven or eight people, but there’s only one of them." He hadn’t even considered Mu Lin to be a person, "Just a few of us to hold that man back, then the rest can take care of that little Divine Doctor Mu."
Really, these people are stupid, but is that man stupid too? Haven’t they heard of Mu Lin’s reputation?
After all, Mu Lin had also carried out major missions, one time even acting as support to rescue Jing Chen.
But probably, that too had become a rumor.
And rumors, of course, can’t be entirely believed.
She’s just a woman.
Not staying at home to take care of the kids properly, instead running around showing her face, mingling with a bunch of men without feeling ashamed.
Tsk, tsk, tsk... Such thoughts probably belong to certain self-righteous male chauvinists.
If they dare to get in Mu Lin’s face, she can give them a quick lesson in the flavors of life—what it truly means to be a woman!
Back at the Jing family home.
In the living room.
"Grandpa." Seeing the old Mr. Jing, they greeted him in unison.
"You’re back." The old man said cheerfully, then paused to add, "The two kiddos just finished eating and fell asleep. Muxue took them upstairs to bed." Children are simple creatures; food and sleep are all they need.
Unlike some people, whose greed is as big as a snake swallowing an elephant, not fearing choking to death; clearly lacking the capability, yet they stubbornly try to reach heights unsuitable for themselves.
Mu Lin nodded. Old Mr. Jing looked at the two of them, "I’ve already heard about Linlin’s situation." His gaze drifted toward Jing Chen’s indifferent face, "How do you plan to handle it?"
"I’m telling you, if my precious granddaughter-in-law has even a scratch, I’m holding only you accountable." The old man’s eyes carried a heavy warning; he was not joking.
"If you need my help, just say the word."
Jing Chen: "No need." A bunch of lackeys; if even for this he needs the old man to intervene, then his position as a major general is indeed laughable.
Hearing this, Mu Lin glanced at Jing Chen’s expressionless face with a light laugh. Then she turned to the old man, explaining, "Grandpa, we’re planning to... let nature take its course."
"What do you mean, let nature take its course?" The old man frowned, not understanding the young couple’s cryptic talk.
Jing Chen: "It means setting a trap for them to jump into." Or rather, there’s no need for us to dig the pit; some people have already dug it for themselves, just waiting to leap in. All we need to do is settle some things when they do.
The old man nodded thoughtfully, "Hmm, since the higher-ups are no longer intending to keep anyone around, I’ll leave the following matters entirely to you two; just remember to stay safe."
