Chapter 892: 587 Chapter: Stand up and give it a try (Part 2)

Time continued for a full two hours, and by now, Ebel’s body was almost entirely covered in sweat, and of course, acupuncture needles; and this sweat was almost entirely a result of pain and struggle.

He was in pain, but he couldn’t cry out; he was in pain, but he couldn’t move; he was in pain, he tried to bear it, but couldn’t hold back.

A real man bleeds and sweats but does not shed tears. He is not afraid of pain.

He was afraid of pain, so he didn’t achieve that; but he did make it, from start to finish he never cried.

In this regard, Mu Lin was approving; unexpectedly, Ebel turned out to be a child who kept his promises and endured. Truly not bad.

Finally, after finishing the acupuncture treatment, Mu Lin put away the needles, then turned to Bashir, "He’s fine for now. Help him clean up and have someone come to change the sheets. Let Ebel stay here tonight, so I can conveniently observe him." Of course, that would have to wait until tomorrow. As for now, she really had neither the strength nor the spirit left.

Her complexion looked pale, and not only was Ebel covered in sweat, so was Mu Lin. Her face was almost deathly pale, including the corners of her lips.

"Thank you," Bashir said, sincerely expressing his gratitude with a deep bow directly towards her. Seeing Mu Lin like this, concern flickered in his eyes, "Divine Doctor Mu, are you alright?" Mu Lin didn’t look quite right.

"I’m fine, it’s just that..." she was a bit tired.

Before she could finish speaking, she had already slumped onto Jing Chen’s body. She was truly exhausted.

Without hesitation, he swept her up into his arms and, after giving a nod to Bashir, Jing Chen turned and left the room with hurried steps that bore restrained urgency.

It had been a long time since she’d used the Nine Curves Resurrection Acupuncture Techniques. Perhaps because of lack of practice, and having just recently come out of her postnatal confinement period after giving birth, Mu Lin’s body was indeed struggling to keep up.

Her only thought now was to have a good sleep; it seemed like she really should find the time to get back into training sometime soon.

Downstairs, the elder gentlemen watched as Jing Chen carried Mu Lin out, and seeing her completely unresponsive, as well as Jing Chen’s pallor, they were quite frightened and hurried upstairs to find out what happened. After hearing Jing Chen’s explanation, they breathed a sigh of relief.

It was good that nothing was wrong and she was only tired; it was an excellent time for her to get some rest.

Of course, although they said so, they were still somewhat concerned.

Glancing at Mu Lin, the elders and Gong Muxue then went downstairs, leaving Jing Chen alone upstairs to look after her while sighing softly in his heart.

Looking at the bloodless corners of Mu Lin’s lips, a sigh passed through Jing Chen’s eyes; there was really no need for such haste.

When it came to medical treatment, once Mu Lin committed, she would use all her effort without hesitation; of course, she would be careful about her body, because that was her capital for revolution.

But this time, perhaps Mu Lin hadn’t expected it herself, as it had been too long since she last saved someone in such a manner.

Her acupuncture skills were nearly forgotten due to disuse; this was also the reason why Mu Lin rejected saving people during her pregnancy period last time – her body simply couldn’t take it. But now, her body seemed just as overburdened.

"I’m fine, really, just too tired," Mu Lin reassured Jing Chen, who was tending to her body, a faint smile on her lips and comfort in her eyes.

She must have scared him just now.

"There won’t be a next time" Jing Chen said, setting the towel aside and pulling Mu Lin into his embrace, "Linlin, you should know that I can’t bear this kind of shock." He truly couldn’t cope.

"If something happened to you one day, I don’t know what I’d do." He couldn’t imagine it; he would go mad.

Hearing Jing Chen’s words, Mu Lin chuckled lightly, "Don’t worry, I know my own body. I’m not the kind of saint who would give up life just to save others. Now that I finally have you and our child by my side, how could I possibly want anything to go wrong?" Now all she wanted was to take better care of herself, to protect all the people she cared about even more.

Nobody could take them away from her; not even the Death God had the right!

For their sakes, she wouldn’t mind fighting anyone, even if it were the heavens themselves!

"Mmm," Jing Chen nodded, his expression finally softening as he allowed Mu Lin to lie down, planting gentle kisses on her forehead, nose-tip, and lips, "If you’re tired, then rest well. I’ll wait for you to fall asleep before I leave."
