Mated at First Sight
Chapter 880 - 580

Chapter 880: 580

But I really want to poke his little cheeks, they must be so much fun.

Upon hearing Quan Luo’s words, Gong Yu said proudly, "That’s because they are my sister’s children!"

In Gong Yu’s eyes, the attractiveness of Mu Lin and Jing Chen was top-tier, so, of course, their children could not just be compared with any ordinary child; like her and Quan Luo, they were just ordinary kids.

Because, when she spoke, she was also wrinkled and ugly.

Gong Yu said that her not at all face-saving mom had long criticized her with disdain.

Surely she wasn’t her biological child.

Watching the baby who had fallen asleep again, Gong Yu extended a little finger and placed it inside the baby’s tiny hand, exclaiming with delight, "Ah, he’s holding onto me."

Truth be told, this was her first time interacting with a baby up close.

Quan Luo, too, was filled with surprise at the sight and started kicking his feet, clamoring to give it a try as well.

Both children were born amidst everyone’s expectations, arriving into a life destined to not be simple, filled with a silver spoon.

All the attention and expectations placed on them were pressure, but also motivation.

However, whether it was the Gong Family or the Jing family, what they hoped for was merely for the children to grow up safely and happily and lead a simple, blessed life, nothing more.

Especially Grandpa Gong and Gong Muxue; to them, the matter of Mu Lin was always a deep and profound pain in their hearts, constantly reminding them.

"Aunt Qing, have the baby’s names been decided?" Gong Yu suddenly asked; after all, they couldn’t keep calling them ’baby’ forever, considering there were two babies here.

The elders looked up, with Grandpa Jing saying, "The boy will be called Jing Nuo, hoping that when he grows up, he will be a man of his word, just like his parents." Whether it was Mu Lin or Jing Chen, they had always kept their promises, and he hoped his great-grandson would be the same.

The Jing family was just like that.

As for the girl.

"The girl will be named Jing Yue; we ask for nothing more than for them to grow up healthy and joyous, without experiencing the hardships their mother once endured," Grandpa Gong’s eyes rested on the slumbering Mu Lin on the bed, "not to suffer as her mother did, breaking my heart for a lifetime." She had nearly gone through life and death; of course, he also hoped that his daughter wouldn’t endure suffering like that again.

Looking at the smile on Gong Muxue’s face, Grandpa Gong was full of heartache.

Everyone nodded in agreement.

Jing Nuo, Jing Yue; though the names were simple, their meanings were significant. These names had been decided before Mu Lin gave birth, originally thinking only one would be used—Jing Yue for a girl, Jing Nuo for a boy. They never expected both names would be used.

How wonderful!

Meanwhile, Jing Chen wasn’t paying any attention to the situation behind him; at that moment, there was nothing more important in his heart than Mu Lin.

Holding Mu Lin’s hand, he brought it to his lips for a kiss, then gently rubbed it against his cheek, his eyes filled with worry.

Why hadn’t his Linlin woken up yet?

The elders had said that normally she should wake up within an hour or two, but now nearly three hours had passed, and she still hadn’t awakened.

Although Mu Lin’s breathing was stable, Jing Chen couldn’t stop his unfounded worries.

It seemed he was genuinely frightened.

Just then, Mu Lin’s hand, which Jing Chen was holding, moved slightly, as if trying to retract it.

Immediately, Jing Chen snapped back to reality, not taking his eyes off Mu Lin’s face for even a second, and as she opened her eyes, he said with joy, "Linlin, you’re awake." He felt an unspeakable sense of relief in his heart.

With a tiny yawn, Mu Lin smiled at Jing Chen, "How about the baby?" The first thing she thought of was the baby, which Grandpa Jing found mildly irritating.

But then, something even more annoying happened.

No sooner had Mu Lin finished speaking than everyone rushed to bring the two children over. Suddenly, Grandpa Jing found himself squeezed to the side by the elders, his face dark as coal, radiating a cool aura.

Unfortunately, no one was paying attention to him, and of course, no one was taking any notice of him either.

"Linlin, look, the babies are here." The baby in Grandpa Jing’s arm was now in Grandpa Gong’s arm, who brought the baby over to Mu Lin’s bedside, "How about that, isn’t she beautiful? She looks so much like you." Xiaoyue’s features indeed resembled Mu Lin’s.

Gong Muxue said, "She looks exactly like Linlin when she was little," her eyes shimmering with tenderness.

Though she had only seen her once back then, since Mu Lin went missing, that little face never left Gong Muxue’s mind, lasting until now.

Otherwise, Gong Muxue would not have recognized at first glance that the Gong Ning from back then was not Mu Lin.

As it stands, how could she forget what her own child used to look like?

"So this is what they look like," Mu Lin said softly, looking at Xiaoyue, warmth in her gaze.

"We and your grandpa have decided on the names for the babies; the girl is Jing Yue, and the boy is Jing Nuo. Linlin, what do you think?" Grandpa Gong said.

It seemed they hadn’t really discussed the names with the couple.

It was something the elders had argued and decided on their own.

But that wasn’t important; what mattered was whether Mu Lin liked them, and they thought the names were quite good.

"Jing Yue, Jing Nuo," Mu Lin said, looking at the two babies laid beside her, her lips curving into a soft smile, "I like them. They sound nice."

As for names, Mu Lin had never been too concerned; as long as they were simple to pronounce and didn’t sound unpleasant, that was enough.

They were just names, after all—the elders being happy with them was what mattered.
